ve been treated for SLE for more than 5 years taking 400mg daily of hydroxchloroquine, acetaminophen and vicodin 5/500 2 daily. I cannot take ibuprofen due to kidney disease, although it was the best pain reliever. About a year ago I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. The worst pain ever. 6 months on Nortriptyline, several on alpha lipoic acid, now on Lyrica. Lyrica works! Still numb but pain relief.
I noticed problems with this drug that I did not have with any other medication. I stopped the Lyrica and went back to my doctor and reported these symptoms. Of course, she was dismayed and did not know what to offer except morphine. At any rate, I went to a new pain management doctor. My results are posted on the pain management couch website. For me, that is what worked.
My daughter has been on multiple drugs over the last two years during diagnosis and treatment and is currently on Lyrica and Percocet. The Lyrica really seems to help her emotionally and physically but now I am worried about the continued use of drugs to alleviate her pain. She says she would just like to have her kidney removed in the hopes the pain will vanish. I, personally don't want this to be an option. Do you have an opinion or suggestions for me?

I am 22 and have just found out I have kidney disease. I do not want to tell my family, because I know they wouldn't deal with it very well. I am taking 750mg of lyrica twice a day and my stomache is so bloated and I'm in so much pain. I drink also I drank 1/2 pint of vocka and a pint. I cut back alot on my drinking, But is that whats causing my stomache to be bloated and if so what can I do? I'm taking the lyrica like this for opaite withdrawls like swim.
I have saver headaches, jaw pain , and TMJ. I take Lyrica and it helps most times. I find that I need to increase the Lyrica medication very often. I take a large amount of Magnisium because my left part of my face is tight and hard to open. MY question is,

Hi recently I had pain on my adominal, usually the pain is on the right upper abdomen and the pain seem to move to lower left and right. I haven't did my kidney function test yet but I already did liver function test and my ALT is 9 U/L does this low ALT indicate that I have kidney issues?
Im very sick and cant get anyone to help. The symptoms are definitely suggestive of kidney disease. You should get an ultrasound kidneys and kidney function tests done to confirm the diagnosis.

Obviously, he has severe anemia and no amount of iron will fix this kind. I have never heard of chemotherapy for kidney disease or kidney damage. I have kidney damage (kidney disease) due to an autoimmune disease. Kidney function is at 26% now, up from 20%. Autoimmune disease is in remission since I had all the mercury fillings removed from my teeth.
I would encourage both of you to talk with his endocrinologist about looking into possible changes that can bring his a1c levels well down below 7. That truly is his best protection not only against kidney disease, but against other complications. If sugar levels are maintained at near normal levels, damage cannot happen.
I have a 14 year old cocker spaniel who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. She originally got sick a few weeks ago with pacreatitis, and when she recovered her lab work showed the kidney problems. We have been giving her fluids every other night as well as the epakitin powder with her food. Her blood report was better this last time. However she seems pretty good, has a good appetite ect and I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be causing this disease?
