Avatar n tn You know I may also be TMJ, that's what I have, the worst case. I get pain in my jaw, headaches, sometimes throat pain, and ear pain, and back pain, you'll know if you have it by pressure on your side jaw(both sides) Just my oppinion.
Avatar n tn Seeing an oral surgeon is advised.
Avatar n tn I am having diffculties opening my mouth because of the pain and soreness. What I need to know is this normal to have pain in the jaw area after a wisdom tooth extraction? And if so, how long should I expect to experience this pain?
Avatar n tn Danielle, You should go see the dentist. I agree it could be a TMJ problem. When your nerves of your face get tight they can definately get pinched and cause numbness. Try taking a paper towel and rolling it up to be about 1/4 inch thick and tape it together so that it looks like a log. Then cut it into two pieces about 1 inch long. Take one and put it on top of your lower right teeth and then put the other one on top of the lower left teeth. Rest your top teeth on top of it.
Avatar m tn I think that my entire lower jaw is shrinking - the front lower teeth are more crowded together. The teeth don't seem especially loose though. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn I went to see my doctor today because I had been having the lower jaw pain and then pain near my ears. I have a chronic sinus infection, very bad they said. So i guess my jaw pain was the sinuses not temp. crowns. Which feel ok now. I get permanent ones on in 7 days. Can't wait to see the new me.
1348686 tn?1310654243 I do have TMJ and I sometimes get pain on the sides of my jaw as well as clicking but the pain in the lower front teeth is different. Any ideas???
Avatar n tn For a couple of weeks I have had a horrible aching pain in what feels like my lower jaw bone. The pain is so severe that I will wake up in the middle of the night and can do nothing to ease the pain. My teeth have also been very sensitive, even to drink a cold drink or hot tea. I have recently had a couple of cavities filled but this did not start untill a couple of weeks after so Im not sure if they are connected or not.
Avatar m tn A doctor a year ago performed endodontic surgery in my lower jaw and removed infected tissue and bone in my lower four teeth. But infection again developed resulting in Jaw bone infection. I want to ask whether one year infection in bone can be cured with medicine and is clindamycin best for it or there is surgery required to remove the dead and infected bone. I will be thankful if any one guide me and God will help you in the time of need. Those who help humanity. God loves them.
Avatar n tn You may have TMJ or just some jaw sensitivity from the dental work you have had done and from having your mouth opened so wide for a long period of time while the dentist worked on your teeth. I had this same problem and had jaw joint pain for 10 months after having 1 tooth crowned! I am searching for answers myself now, but I won't be having in more injections unless I'm dead!
1808083 tn?1316314114 I just had a small filling done about an hour ago in the lower back molar. I am now having severe Jaw pain radiating up into the ear and around the lower jaw down into the gland area. The assistant who did the shots did something really wrong I think. I have never felt pain like that. I thought she had electrocuted me! There was a horrible nerve pain all the way up my jaw to my lip and into my ear. Then it really hurt as she was putting the rest into the jaw.
Avatar m tn Although my gums are sore the terrible pain is from my left jaw. Also I have noticed that my lower left side of my jaw on my face feels puffy.
Avatar f tn A couple of years ago, my dentist informed me that my wisdom teeth needed to be removed as soon as possible. I have still not had them removed and the far/upper region of my lower right jaw (near/below and the area around my wisdom tooth) is where I occassionally experience pain and swelling. Could my sore throat have anything to do with the wisdom tooth on the lower portion of the right side of my jaw? Or are the two wholly unrelated?
Avatar f tn I am 21 years old and back to full braces (third round) and jaw surgery next year to raise upper jaw, widen palate and bring lower jaw forward. I had a very bad flare-up of my TMJ in september that made me basically useless for over a week because of the pain. I'm tired of just dealing with it, and since I want to go for a full cure I hope fixing my bite will do that.
Avatar n tn I have exactly what is being didcussed under jaw pain tooth pain. I can't hardly stand the pain. A month ago it was on the other side of my jaw. Had it xrayed & got 2nd opinion. They said it could be a sinus infection. I can believe the pain can possibly be that bad. It left. Now I have exactly the same thing on the other side of my mouth. It is in the lower jaw/ bone/tooth. They said it normally is in the upper teeth. Has anyone got any answers?
Avatar m tn TMJ disorders — a type of temporomandibular disorder or TMD — can cause pain in your jaw joint and in the muscles that control jaw movement. The exact cause of a person's TMJ disorder is often difficult to determine. Your pain may be due to a combination of factors, such as genetics, arthritis or jaw injury. Some people who have jaw pain also tend to clench or grind their teeth, although many people habitually clench or grind their teeth and never develop TMJ disorders.
Avatar f tn There is a variety of things that can case lower jaw pain. First, you need to make sure your teeth are okay! Yes, on both sides. You have to rule out something going on with that. Then TMJ comes to mind. And even your heart can be involved with lower jaw pain. Here is an article to read. But the one that would concern me to immediately rule out is a cardiovascular reason. Women in particular can have lower left jaw pain during a heart attack.
Avatar m tn My main concern is jaw pain. After short periods of running I am experiencing pain, specifically around my joints. After doing some light background research I saw this this could be linked to heart disease. Before anyone responds a few points should be made. -I was tested extensively for heart issues when I was 4 due to a benign heart murmur. - I have scoliosis which causes one of my legs to be approx .25 inches shorter than the other. I require the use of a lift in one shoe.
Avatar n tn The pain that I am experiencing from them is hard to describe. My lower jaw, ear, lower left cheek, and teeth all hurt. My dentist filed down the temps so that my bite was better, but the pain is not getting any better. I have to take 800 mg of Ibuprofen every 4-6 hours. If I wait until I feel pain again to take the ibuprofen it takes almost 2 hours for the pain to go away. The pain wakes me up at night and I am geting worried.
Avatar f tn This explains a lot that had been going on with me a few weeks ago. All the teeth on the lower left side of my face (same place I've gotten the numbness and facial pain) started hurting like crazy. I figured I ate something that triggered it like popcorn or something, since I'd just been to the dentist for a checkup a month before and all was fine. Good to know..
Avatar n tn t grind my teeth, but if I sleep in a certain position, I wake up with my lower jaw pushing outward against my upper teeth so hard that they hurt and ache for days. If I sleep in a normal position, the jaw muscles just ache with no tooth pain. The mouthpiece solved all that. And also, any of the occasional bouts of TMJ I would get, stopped. By this I mean the bouts I would have where I could hardly open my mouth without extreme pain for several consecutive days.
Avatar n tn The lower jaw may shift forward, side, or combination of both, when occlusal interference( premature contact) is introduced by a new retoration, particularly posterior teeth. The lower front teeth may push upper front teeth due to forward shift of lower jaw. Seeing your restorative dentist to have more occlusal adjustment is advised.
Avatar m tn A week has gone by from all four impacted wisdom teeth were surgically removed. My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?
Avatar f tn Thanks. :) I'm actually getting pain in the teeth now, both on the upper and lower jaw, when I eat. Not really sure what's going on but hopefully it will be better tomorrow.
Avatar f tn hi i forgot to say i have stiches that are due to be removed on wednesday, but im going mad with this pain and tingling can my dentist do anything for me
