977806 tn?1249067346 One (or both, who knows) of the TX drugs causes bruxism, grinding your teeth in your sleep. Think it's the riba. The grinding can make your jaw hurt in the morning. I ground through a gold crown on TX. See if your dentist can make you a biteguard (also called night guard) so you don't ruin your molars while saving your liver.
Avatar n tn About a year ago I started clenching my jaw and grinding my teeth in my sleep. I realized I was doing this after waking up a few mornings with horrible headaches and pain in my jaw. My dentist fitted me for a mouth guard (which I wear every night) and then things seemed a little better. Well for the past 2 months I feel like I am doing it more than ever. I wear the mouth guard every night but I am waking up with jaw pain. Is there anything else I can do or take to alleviate this?

Avatar n tn the amount of pressure in night time grinding is what wears our joints and cracks our teeth. i cant tell you what to do but you need to discuss this with a dentist and if he suggests only wearing it during the day GET A SECOND OPINION!! if you get the splint issue worked out and you have pain in the muscles in the face and jaw sometimes physical therapy will help. good luck and let me know what happens.

639543 tn?1297027634 My 4 month old German Shepherd keeps making this weird noise with his teeth, it isn't every time he bites down, but a majority of the time it sounds like his teeth are grinding together, or he's biting extremely hard, almost like his upper jaw and lower jaw don't match up. He doesn't seem to be in pain or anything, but is this normal, or something that needs attention??

There is anohter mouth piece that they can make that is a "lesser model" that is about $300.00.

Avatar f tn She could have a cracked tooth, or she could be grinding her teeth when she sleeps. Another option is that her teeth are lining up wrong or that there is a tooth growing in where it shouldn't be. She should see a dentist, and possibly an orthodontist.
Avatar f tn My jaw has popped for several years now which has not bothered me to much other than the annoyance of it, However several months ago I started having pain in my teeth and jaw. I saw two dentist who took X-rays and explained it could be from grinding my teeth at night. They assured me that everything else looked fine. Since then, the pain has gotten worse and comes more often. I have been taking pain relievers everyday now, and sometimes more than once a day. The pain now also goes into my ear.

Avatar f tn UGH Have a new symptom, excessive teeth grinding/clenching. I have always grinded my teeth at night, but now I do it all day, it's gotten to the point where it's because very uncomfortable and painful. I literally can not stop, no matter how hard I try. I understand that this could be related to anxiety, but sometimes it literally happens all day on days where I have no anxiety. Anyone experience this???

Also I had a crazy breakout yesterday which was Wednesday, my shots are friday nights and normally my flu like symptoms are just pretty bad saturday afternoon. on Wednesday i'm at work and about 10 am i started shivering to where it was like winter. 4494800 tn?1355440491 ear pain, temple pain, and bottom of jaw pain), the clicking in the back of your head would not fit. Clicking in the jaw joint, however would match up with a TMJ issue. So, you are likely describing two different things- one has to do with your TMJ, but the clicking in the back of your head (if not being misperceived as coming from that location) may have a different source- have you tried neck exercises where you hear this clicking? (I noticed you mentioned shaking your head)?
Avatar m tn My dentist figured I was grinding my teeth and so I was given a night guard. Since then I have been wearing, but I feel like its making the problem worse, even though it does minimize the soreness. Lately, I have been waking up with sore front teeth. I think the night guard is wearing through or something. I have tried sleeping without it. I don't have headaches anymore but my teeth are still sore. I honestly don't think the night guard helps get to the route of the problem.
1445161 tn?1312085507 So, I don't know if this is the right place but here goes.. I'm 22 yr old female. Iv'e been grinding my teeth very hard since I was a kid only in my sleep. It gives me so much pain when I wake and also I notice that it weakens my teeth. I read that the only treatment is Botox. I also think that all these years of grinding has made my jaw muscles larger and it just looks big and unappealing to me. Am I right? Can you please tell me more about this?
Avatar n tn I have had earaches and jaw pain on that same side ever since. Our hospital offered a free oral clinic a couple of weeks ago and I went to have a swollen place under my tongue looked at. A dentist there found a knot on the very back of my jawbone that he said felt abmornal. He called in an oral surgeon who felt of it and said it was a bony ledge. She said I had muscle trauma from grinding my teeth so bad at night. My question is, can this cause my ear to hurt constantly.

Avatar f tn Okay, so my cat has been having eating problems for about 2 and a half weeks now. He has gone from weighing 24 pounds to 10 pounds! He went to the vet when it first began, and all they noticed that was wrong with him was that he needed his teeth to be cleaned. He had to take antibiotics for it, but he's taken them before. There seems to be a strange noise coming from his mouth when he tries to eat, almost like his jaw is clicking or he's grinding his teeth. Could his jaw be out of place?
