Avatar n tn You know I may also be TMJ, that's what I have, the worst case. I get pain in my jaw, headaches, sometimes throat pain, and ear pain, and back pain, you'll know if you have it by pressure on your side jaw(both sides) Just my oppinion.
Avatar f tn A couple of years ago, my dentist informed me that my wisdom teeth needed to be removed as soon as possible. I have still not had them removed and the far/upper region of my lower right jaw (near/below and the area around my wisdom tooth) is where I occassionally experience pain and swelling. Could my sore throat have anything to do with the wisdom tooth on the lower portion of the right side of my jaw? Or are the two wholly unrelated?
Avatar f tn Hi, Actually, evolution has shortened the lower jaw, thereby making wisdom teeth (or the third molar) obsolete. Many people today are born without them at all. Those of us that have them, if they are crooked or impacted, it's recommended for removal. They can have a direct relationship to the alignment of your other teeth if they have no room to erupt. Not to mention the possibility of jaw bone problems with a tooth trying to erupt directly into it.
Avatar n tn But I continue to have sharp pain from teeth near my wisdom teeth into my cheeks. In addition, I seem to have developed pain on left side front teeth. It is quite sharp and when I press under the jaw at that point it is very painful. Motrin is helping but i worry about the long term effects. Not sure if there is infection or something serious that is causing this continuous pain.
Avatar f tn You should probably get checked out by a TMJ specialist to see if your symptoms are related to the TMJ popping. There is a definite possibility with the muscle strain that opening and closing the jaw as well as pain is related to the TMJ but I'm not sure about the mouth dryness at this point. As for the teeth moving, it probably isn't due to the wisdom teeth as people without wisdom teeth have their teeth move as well.
Avatar n tn Wisdom tooth pain can radiate and cause a lot of problems, especially if they become infected or are impacted. Fillings can also be sensitive after having them done. Especially ones where a white filling material is used due to the bonding materials used during treatment. It is reasuring that you Dentist has taken xrays which shows there is no apical infection present or any decay. If you still have problems I would go back to the Dentist you saw.

Avatar m tn A week has gone by from all four impacted wisdom teeth were surgically removed. My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?
Avatar f tn I am 17 and got my wisdom teeth out about a week ago. The pain was horrible and for the first 4 days I took between three and four 5 325 percocets spaced throughout the day. After that, the tooth pain subsided completely. However, the past 3 mornings I have woken up with the worst headaches I have ever had. Is this normal for getting wisdom teeth out or is this a side effect of the Percocet? Is there any reason to be concerned about this?
Avatar f tn I guess ever since ive been taking prenatals and ive been pregnant my wisdom teeth have been killing me! They were growing before I was pregnant but now im waking up with a sore jaw line and gums. Im not even sure if I can get them taken out while im pregnant. Has this happened to anybody else?
Avatar n tn Post-op pain from the removal of your wisdom teeth should not last that long. When they extract the wisdom teeth, they are pretty close to a facial nerve and facial muscles, so it can very well be a problem with the muscle being damaged/torn. Though the wholes where the teeth were are usually present for a long time and can become infected. I'd talk to the oral surgeon who did the extractions. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I was having a severe pain due to wisdom teeth then I got treatment from Dr. William.
786396 tn?1379366191 The pain is from the same side where the wisdom teeth are coming in. The pain is always in the same location. The pain is not spread out. It's more of a pin point. Located at a muscle/arch/nerve that if you put your finger in the corner of your mouth you can feel it naturally. The pain is located at the end of the arch/column. thank you doc for replying to my questions . please let me know what u think.
Avatar n tn I had my wisdom teeth removed about 1 month ago and a few days ago, I awoke with pain in my left jaw joint. Since then, it hurts to open my mouth wide in the jaw joint and down under my jaw as well. I also have felt a little tingle in my face in that area when I open wide and hear a small click in my jaw. Does this sound like TMJ and could it be related to the surgery? Should I contact my oral surgeon or a dentist that specializes in this?
Avatar m tn I also had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth removed this past Monday Nov. 10th, and it is now Saturday. The pain is excruciating and unbearable. I was given a prescription for hydrocodone but get no relief whatsoever. I called my dentist office yesterday to let them know I am still suffering and they had me come in immediately to check my progress out. Of course everything looks wonderful and she said the healing process is going right at the pace it should be and inquired on my pain.
Avatar f tn Likely your lower wisdom teeth have erupted giving a total of 16 mandible teeth, while the upper wisdom teeth have not yet erupted. Give it more time they will likely erupt and you will have 16 on top and 16 on the bottom. If they do not appear until you are 21, There could be several reasons for this: the upper 3rd molars could be missing completely; they could be caught in such a way that they can't erupt (this is called impaction), or they could be present and just slow in erupting.
Avatar n tn s young and the teeth are somewhat straight, they may be able to provide antibiotics and see if the roots will move up more and get further away from the nerves. If not, permanent numbness may occur, going from the back of the jaw area to the lip.
Avatar f tn Your descriptions suggest tmj injury instead of jaw bone fracture.seeing a dentist to have a preliminary evaluation is advised.
Avatar m tn I want to know why is it necessary to remove wisdom teeth? What are positives except that removing wisdom teeth will not affect other teeth lining and may prevent chances of infection around wisdom teeth? What are negative sides? I am tired of this procedure or that procedure and going to here and there, and now this. I don’t want to complain but I am already struggling with poor general health, stress, anxiety and insomnia and my GP is no help.
Avatar m tn I was suffering from pain near TMJ joint on and off since few day I went to my dentist and he said I am suffering from TMJ disorder due to the wisdom teeth on my upper growing a little sideways and he said since in my case the pain is not too severe he would only go for the wisdom teeth removal when the pain gets too severe and when I start hearing my jaw creak or click. He has given me muscle relaxants for a week.
Avatar n tn I recently had my wisdom teeth out, and since then I've had tinnitus in both ears that seems to come and go but is never completely gone. I only had two wisdom teeth, both on the bottom. In the days before the surgery I had some eruption pain, and the teeth were fully impacted, and I had some mild tinnitus. However, after I got them out, the tinnitus has gotten much worse.
Avatar f tn Sometimes ear ringing and I have got little lymphnode on the right side of my neck near jaw maybe 2 centimeters big. May wisdom tooth cause that problems ?
Avatar f tn t even yawn in peace anymore or even brush my teeth properly without feeling pain when I try to open my mouth more. This has gone on for three days. I feel a swelling-like bump when I touch the outside of my face. At first I thought it was because of my only grown wisdom tooth because that side of my mouth is where I feel my jaw is locked. That wisdom tooth hasn't bothered me ever since it first started growing, so I didn't think it's because of the tooth.
Avatar f tn jaw pain, neck, head discomfort/pain, ringing in the ears sound somewhat close to a TMJD problem. Occlusion problems and temporomandibular joint may cause such symptoms. Do you ever hear any pops, clicks or experience any pain around your TMJ/lower-front ear part? I would consult your dentist and see if they can see feel anything via palpation and radiographs.
