Avatar f tn what ever happened with your jaw alignment problem?? because 2 months after my bottom wisdom tooth removals my jaw looks very uneven and still i have pain and numbness around the area of the removal. i have yet to get an x ray of my jaw but had x rays of the area where the removal took place. im just confused and dont know what to do.
Avatar n tn sory to be so indefinite, but it may be a sign of TMJ and it may or may not be related to the Wisdom teeth removal----- remember when those teeth are removed, your jaw is manipulated and stetched in unnatural ways to get them out. The muscles can easily go into spasm right after or a short time later.... It's odd that you were fine and then it started acting up after you are pretty much healed, but i guess it is possible.
Avatar n tn no i never had a rootcanal its a wisdom teeth removal, the bottom 2 wisdom teeth on my lower jaw they had to cut into my gums and take out the wisdom teeth
Avatar n tn Removal of wisdom teeth probably has nothing to do with onest of tinnitus.Etiology of Tinnitus is generally speculated to be cns dysfunction.Myofascial trigger point pathology of masseter and lateral pterygoid muscles may contribute to tinnitus too.
Avatar m tn I was suffering from pain near TMJ joint on and off since few day I went to my dentist and he said I am suffering from TMJ disorder due to the wisdom teeth on my upper growing a little sideways and he said since in my case the pain is not too severe he would only go for the wisdom teeth removal when the pain gets too severe and when I start hearing my jaw creak or click. He has given me muscle relaxants for a week.
Avatar n tn 4 chance of the jaw becoming perminantly numb. What problems might this perminantly numb jaw cause? Is there any other way of solving the problem of infection?
Avatar n tn Post-op discomfort after wisdom teeth removal may last weeks. Wisdom teeth are frequent occlusal interference. It's common patients feel the jaw position or bite is different after wisdom teeth removal. This is probably what you described " misaligned". If you do'nt have temporomandibular disorder, the bite will be realigned after a couple of weeks. If you do have tmd problems, seeing a tmj specialist is advised.
Avatar m tn A week has gone by from all four impacted wisdom teeth were surgically removed. My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?
Avatar m tn This is due to inflammation caused by tissue handling and trauma. Some amount of pain and numbness is expected. Spasm of the muscles of the jaw causes difficulty in opening the mouth. If the prescribed medicines are not helping then it would be best to consult your Doctor. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn Your headache is more than likely due to the extraction of your wisdom teeth. Your jaw was open extra wide, and the muscles leading from there to your head could be spasming or understandably sore.
Avatar n tn I called them and they said it was probably muscles that were just tense and to keep taking my pain meds. I now am off of my pain meds and over the past couple of nights the bump as slowly started to gravitate up my lower right jaw line toward the back of my jaw. The swelling around it is gone but it is still hard as my elbow and tender if you put to much pressure on it.
Avatar m tn When you go to your dentist or oral surgeon to get your examination prior to your wisdom teeth removal, I would go ahead and ask them about it and see if its a possibility. They may do an exam and feel around and see if there's something else going on as well. If everything seems normal, I'd get the wisdom teeth out and then see if the pain persists.
Avatar n tn Post-op pain from the removal of your wisdom teeth should not last that long. When they extract the wisdom teeth, they are pretty close to a facial nerve and facial muscles, so it can very well be a problem with the muscle being damaged/torn. Though the wholes where the teeth were are usually present for a long time and can become infected. I'd talk to the oral surgeon who did the extractions. Good luck.
Avatar m tn The indicator for this disorder is a shock-like pain from either the ophthalmic, maxillary and mandibular areas. It is possible that it after your wisdom teeth removal the nerves in the mandibular location, specifically jaw, were affected in some way. If this is the case then you'll need to see a doctor for either medication and in extreme cases, surgery. I realize this is very late, but I hope this helps someone in the future!
Avatar m tn Hi. I have removed two of my top wisdom teeth about 4 hour ago. I asked my dentist to give me the teeth. Now at home, I see that one of them (which its empty socket is now very painful) has some thing like bone tightly clinging on it. the size of this disjoint part of bone is about 1mm x 1cm x 6mm. it is obviously part of my bone. I am so worried about it. Please let me know that it will heal or not! what will happen to that missing part of bone? how long does it take to completely cure?
Avatar n tn 7 years ago I was eating and bit down on my right side. A RADIATING pain shot through my jaw. I went to the dentist and had an x-ray taken. I was informed I had a "cementoma" and that it should not be causing me pain. Long story kind of short visit after visit after root canal after surgically removal of "stubby tooth" after wisdom teeth removal I am STILL having pain.
Avatar n tn Assuming you are referring to trismus after lower wisdom teeth revoval. Trismus may last 2-3 days after surgical procedure of lower wisdom teeth removal. If appropriate antibiotics is administered, trismus tends to resolve after 3 days.
Avatar f tn am I right in assuming that the removal of my wisdom tooth may have caused the infection from the tooth in front of it to spread? I have a tingling feeling through my entire right side of my jaw, up to my lips and below nose. my neck and jaw are swollen and I noticed some blotchy redness... if I don't take nurofen and Panadol the pain is unbearable and stretches from where the infected tooth is to my ear, to the front of my mouth and under my nose. I also have a head ache...
Avatar f tn Removal!! Plain and simple :-) I had to have my wisdom teeth removed. But since I not sure exactly what about your teeth is bothering you so much, I can't really offer much help. Care to share? I have a few great tips!!!
Avatar f tn They were coming in sideways and impacted. The crown of both teeth were under the tooth in front. Before removal I had many small infections on both sides over a few months. There wasn't a lot of bleeding after the surgery and I seemed to recover pretty fast at first.  I have felt sick in my stomach almost constantly since returning home from the hospital and I have a fever (unsure of temperature) and chills.
660300 tn?1224790361 I had two of my wisdom teeth removed three days ago. First day I couldn't feel the right side of my face (even my ear was numb) but it got better. Now I can't feel my teeth on the right side, can't feel the right half of my bottom lip and my chin. I am getting panic attacks just by thinking that it will not get better. Now and then I feel a little itch on my chin but when I want to scratch it, I don't feel anything. I am so scared!
