Avatar f tn There are chair exercises you might be able to do, depending on your medical condition(s) and ability. Check out YouTube for chair yoga videos to see if there's something you can do. Basically, any type of movement will help burn fat. It doesn't have to be a structured exercise program. If you can lift your arms and legs, and move your head and torso, you can exercise. 16 oz water bottles make excellent weights that you can lift up to stretch your arms sides and back.

This frustrates me cause it doesnt go away. I dont lose inches or weight I get bigger. Whenever this happens I stop lifting cause I dont want to get bigger. I know they say that a woman cant get bigger because she just doesnt produce the same hormones as a man but why would I be gaining mass if this were so.
Avatar f tn I used to go to the gym everyday for an hour do cardio and weight lifting, ate healthy, for 3 months I could not lose a pound. I have no insurance so I can't go to the doctor and get medicine. Very Very Frustrating!

I know this from personal experience. magkenmare, I am going to talk to my sister as soon as I can and then post again. I know that my mother is doing the South Beach diet, but my sis, because she has diabetes cannot follow it to a "t". She mentioned something like she is doing a variation of it.
Avatar n tn Don't limit yourself with deadlines or strict goals that might be challenging to achieve. You will likely lose quite a bit of weight early on, and then it will slow down a little. Just don't get discouraged, try to avoid extreme changes in your diet - small changes work best. Take care!

Avatar n tn I have been hypothryroidal for about 5 years now, and currently take .075 mg. of Levoxyl daily. I just had my thyroid tested last week, with a Free T-4 of 1.3, and a TSH of 2.04. Ever since menopause, about 2 years ago, I've developed severe allergies and I also have been steadily gaining weight. I've always weighed between 112 & 118 lbs., and am now 143 lbs. I exercise daily by taking a very vigorous 3 mile walk/run and also do yoga & a bit of weight lifting for 1/2 hr. daily.

Avatar f tn I know that you have to burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight. And I WANT to lose at least one pants size by the time school starts. But I'm still going to exercise and diet when school comes back. Anywho, I started riding my exercise bike last Tuesday and I had been riding it for an hour, and I started lifting weights(just 15 pound arm weights), annnnd I started doing sit ups. I do 100 sit ups a day now.

I am currently in a cardiac rehab program to increase endurance and lose some weight in an attempt to try and decrease some symptoms (short of breath, chest pain). Most of the patients have had MIs or bypass surgery. I have had neither. The program consists of aerobic exercise followed by weights. I have read that people with HOCM should refrain from weight lifting/ training.

There's a difference between people who have always exercise and those who are just starting -- if you're used to exercising, you'll reach stasis. If you're just starting and your life is sedentary, you will burn off more by doing anything. How much depends on how whole hog you go on it -- for me, heavy cardio was best.

I'm frustrated and I've been going through this cycle for the last 7 years. I just want to thin out and have some muscle definition thats all.
Avatar n tn Your body is changing losing fat and gaining lean muscle, your clothes will show the change that doesn't show up on the scale. YOu will begin to lose weight. I have lost almost 50 lbs, and feel great. My goall is to burn 500 calories a workout. I lift 3 days and do cardio 2 to 3. Sometime, I do 10 minutes of cardio after lifting days. Hang in there, you'll be glad you did. Ps. get a polar watch they're really worth it.
Avatar n tn AT your current weight it is always best to begin a weight management program with your doctor. Make sure you are in good physical state to begin. The doc can recommend a diet/exercise plan that is good for you based on your current state of health. Generally, to maintain a weight of around 400 pounds, a person needs to eat appx. 5000 calories each day. If you continue exercising and reducing your calories you will lose weight fairly soon.

Avatar n tn Something was physiologically wrong with my body and wouldn't allow me to lose the weight no matter what excercise program I did. I just didn't know how to correct the proglem, until now. I am so grateful that Kevin had the desire to publish this protocal and of course Dr. S for developing it. This book taught me that I could correct the problems my body had and that I wasn't crazy... I really did have a fixable problem. This program is the real deal, so far, it is working just as described.

I got hypothyorid and it has gotten worse with this pregnancy and who knows how it will be after the baby comes. Try running that is great for losing weight as well as lifting weights - great.
Avatar n tn Join the club -- I have a baby face too! I don't think there's any way to lose weight only in your face; it will shrink as your overall body fat goes down. There are some facial exercises that are supposed to make your face more muscled, but I don't know if those really work to get rid of the fat there.
789879 tn?1321330762 It is my understanding that you really can't do much exercise with this program because the 500/day diet doesn't leave you with enough energy for more than walking, so please be careful about that. Also it my understanding that the less you have to lose, the slower you will lose it. I am really interested in your answers, as I am about to buy the injections and start this myself.
