Heck yes there is a big difference! The generic imipramine is garbage. Luckily my insurance will pay for most of the cost for brand name tofranil. Otherwise it is around $600 for 30 pills. It is very much still available and the manufacture is Mallinckrodt. They have great cust service and if you can get assistance with the cost if you qualify.

I mean they just ask MW how I'm doing check my blood pressure check my baby's heartbeat and that's it. I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). When I go to the pharmacy to pick it up, the give me celexa and tell me that with my insurance company, lexapro has to have a pre-authorization, and that they wouldn't authorize the med until i tried to celexa 1st! So they called my doc and she said it was ok to give me the celexa. I asked the pharmacy how much would it be if I paid for it without the help of my insurance and they said $112 for a 30 day supply!!

The difference between the full cost of a treatment (which the uninsured often are charged), and the amount the insurance company tells them they will pay is often quite a bit. If you have cash and offer to pay up front (for a discount) you may get charged less than what they can get out of the insurance company, because it's less hassle and instant money for them.
Just a thought, even if you had to borrow the money.
