Lexapro dosage levels

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro dosage levels

lexapro

Avatar f tn The need for both Lexapro and Ompeprazole indicate that your thyroid levels might still be too low. Once my thyroid levels got right "for me", I was able to discontinue constant use of Omeprazole - I now use it very seldom (haven't had any in at least a couple months). I find that Gaviscon works quite well for the times I need something now.
Avatar m tn Have you started tapering down your dosage per your doctor's instructions? Just make sure you are not adjusting dosage or quitting it without talking to your doctor first; just ensure you follow his/her instructions. Doing it on your own can cause many unpleasant symptoms that you would not really have to endure if you take it as prescribed.
Avatar f tn The therapeutic dosage depends on attaining a therapeutic blood level. Generally, the dosage range is 400–1,200 mg/day. Blood levels of carbamazepine should be monitored weekly for the first 4 weeks to ensure that adequate levels are achieved to produce the therapeutic response." You could print out that document and bring it in and ask your doc why he thinks you were taking too much tegretol, especially since the reduction is causing problems.
Avatar f tn When I was put on Lexapro, I was started at 5mg. 10mg is the recommended dosage for anxiety treatment, so I was tapered up to see what side effects would occur and to minimize them.
Avatar f tn When I started Lexapro my doctor also gave me a small does of Xanax and has recently changed me to a small does of Kolonopin until we found the right dosage of Lexapro. Just this week we are actually changing my dosage of Lexapro to 7.5mg because of a few small side effects. Keep up with it and stay in contact with your doctor. Good Luck.
Avatar m tn Sad is right. Hey you...how you doing btw girlie??? And...also. it is good to mention, like sad also said...that it is very important to ALWAYS check with your doc before taking any new meds.....even natural supplements. A lot of people do not think of them as they would a "prescription"...but drug interactions and problems are just as real. I would stay away from the aminos while on Lexapro....
Avatar f tn I used to take Zoloft at 200Mgs a day. Lowest dosage is 50mgs a day and even that dosage is too low for most people.
712802 tn?1274645485 I have been taking Lexapro for six to eight months and now I am having extreme fatigue and shortness of breath. Had my heart checked and it is o.k. My pcp thinks Lexapro might be the culprit so he suggested to my pmp that I be swithched to Savella (Milnaciprin). My pmp did not tell me how to switch - should I stop the Lexapro for three days then start the Savella; or three weeks, or just go ahead and stop the Lexapro one day and start the Savella the next? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I was taking 300mg of Lamictal, 10mg of Geodon, and 40mg of Lexapro when I had a manic epsiode. I had never had an episode while on meds before. Is this an unusually high dosage of Lexapro for a bipolar to be taking? I remember the pharmacist had to get special approval for prescribing the dosage.
Avatar m tn My physician prescribed Prozac and Xanax and my anxiety shot up...similar to what many of you have shared. I only took it three days. When I told her my reactions and some of the things I learned here she told me I shouldn't feel that way so soon and switched me to Lexapro. Has anyone taken this medication for depression, stress and anxiety?
Avatar n tn I can tell you that even when you find the optimal dosage, that it will take a good few weeks at that dosage before you feel better. If the Lexapro fails to produce a full response than you can always discuss with your doctor about maybe adding a second medication to boost the effect.
Avatar f tn My doctor is taking me down from 10mg of Lexapro to 7.5mg to see if this might help some with the fatigue and the dreams that I have been experiencing. I have been on 10mg dosage since November and while it has helped it just may be a bit to much. Would any one happen to know if I will experience any side effects? I know that this is not much of a switch but he recommends slowing reducing rather that simply cutting the dosage in half.
Avatar f tn I have been on the 100mg a day dose for 5 days and my anxiety has increased significantly and I am having trouble sleeping. The Zoloft has always made me feel wired, but this dosage has really increased my anxiety levels. Will this anxiety increase go away after a few weeks? I also take 300mg of Wellbutrin each day and have for 2 years. Do you think I should lower my Wellbutrin dose or my Zoloft dose or both?
Avatar f tn I was weaned off of Lexapro and just started taking it again. Lexapro is an antidepressant like Zoloft. My doctor said it could take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks; just as if you were starting with the medication it can take a while to reach it's full potential.
Avatar m tn Hello, So i've been on Lexapro 10mg for about 4 weeks now and since a couple of days ago i've been feeling very tired and sleepy to the point that all i want to do is sleep. Will this effect go away or am i experiencing the true effects of Lexapro? Thanks.
Avatar n tn m not exactly sure what the Max effective dosage is for Lexapro, but I used to take Lex for 2 years and was prescribed 30Mgs a day. Some people find effectivness at the 10 or 20Mg dosage. Just kind of deprends on the person and how they react to SSRI's and their resistance to such medications.
Avatar m tn HI, just was wondering about an increase dosage of Lexapro. I started at 10 mg and my doctor increased it to 20 mg. I've been taking it for 2 1/2 weeks and have noticed an improvement over the 10 mg. I've been having more good days then bad which is great. Will it take 4 to 6 weeks to receive the full benefit from the Lexapro from the increased dosage? Thanks for the help.
Avatar n tn I am now on 40 mg dose of rabeprazole and 10mg of Lexapro. Is the use of lexapro causing this ulcer related symptoms? Can i reduce the dosage of lexapro to 5 mg by breaking the tablet into 2 ?
Avatar m tn I was on Zoloft for a few years and 4 years ago I switched to lexapro 10 mg. I want to get off it because of insomnia, weight, and sexual side effects. I was originally prescribed this by a shrink for impulse control and depression and low seretonin levels due to addiction. I am 7 months clean and sober now and I want to stop it for good. Could you recommend a reduced dosage strategy so I don't feel the dissy vertigo spells that go along with trying to stop?
Avatar n tn The drowsiness does seem to subside for many patients a few weeks after starting the medication or after the dosage increase. Taking Lexapro at bedtime may reduce daytime drowsiness. If the drowsiness does not resolve, your physician may change your prescription to a less sedating antidepressant.
Avatar n tn I am a 20 year old female and I've been on and off Zoloft for several years now and have finally realized I just need to stay on antidepressants. The Zoloft has changed my life with regards to my depression--I am finally able to be the person I know I am. I take 75 mg zoloft a day but it has killed me sexually. I still have a sex drive but I literally have almost no sensation and thus can never orgasm--and thus having sex isn't as appealing. My Dr.
