Lexapro and vivid dreams

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro and vivid dreams

lexapro

991895 tn?1259351987 I'm taking Lexapro 10 mg and also have very vivid dreams nightly. My mother, who left us when I was a teenager, is generally in the dreams. I'm happy taking Lexapro -- it has very much changed my life and outlook. However, I will say that the dreams are very bothersome and can wear you down. It's hard to appreciate the effects of the day when you are still tired from dreaming the night before.
Avatar f tn It might help with the restless thoughts. I got vivid dreams on Paxil, but I kind of liked them, and I get some nightmares on Lexapro, at least those rare nights when I can get into a deep enough sleep for them, but nightmares are just your brain shedding superfluous matter, nothing to worry about. They also make for good short stories, if you're into that kind of thing.
847195 tn?1296171647 Probably the Lexapro. If it's helping, learn to love the dreams. I had great dreams on Paxil, but I'm a writer, so I guess I don't mind vivid dreams as much as the next person.
Avatar n tn could shifting in sleep duration and using of computer lead to these dreams, and as for these dreams are they good signs or bad ? And does he need some additional medicine to stop these disturbing dreams about his worries and unsolved major problem ?
Avatar m tn ill let you all know if i have crazy vivid dreams tonite....I WILL SAY AGAIN...thie tea is AMAZING...
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your input Paxiled. I needed to hear that because deep down I know that I don't need these medications. I don't have a mental problem just went thru a phase of mixed emotions. I fell in love and fell hard for someone. The relationship was a toxic one and we both knew it. Yet, we couldn't end it and just kept dragging it further on. My heart aches still. I just don't know how to snap out of this.
Avatar f tn I have had very vivid dreams this whole pregnancy and before I did too. Alot of sex dreams and dreams about my fiancé cheating on me. They're both awful because I never "finish" in my sex dreams, the cheating ones are obviously awful and I rarely get a good nights sleep because when I wake up my mind feels like it was going all night long.
3926262 tn?1350439336 As many of you know, I am about to begin week 6 on triple therapy with incevik. I am also currently taking Lexapro to help with anxiety/depression. I have been experiencing numerous very graphic and disturbing dreams for the last couple of weeks. I am not sure if it's the tx or the Lexapro....or a combination of both? I have even awakened my husband by yelling out in my sleep.
Avatar m tn i dont know if its the medication or something but ever since ive been taking prozac ive had scary vivid dreams, often scattering topics like religion, the end of the world, and events that ive expieranced earlier in the day all in one night. i woke up at 4:30 last night shaking because the dream felt so real. I was just wondering if this is natural with the prozac? have any of you experianced this?
Avatar m tn I have recently been diagnosed with having Afib and my cardiologist prescribed Flecainide... I have been on the medication now for approx 2 months and I am having weird vivid dreams, nothing in the 'horror scary realm' but odd vivid stuff... I have checked various websites i.e. webMD etc and the Rx does not post a side effect of weird dreams. Is this common?
Avatar f tn Actually quite the opposite. The only think I am dealing is vivid dreams at night. My doctor is looking into possibly changing my dosage. He thinks it may be a bit to much for me. Good Luck!
612551 tn?1450022175 s a possibility. Strangely enough SSRIs can make for vivid dreams too. I was on one once (serzone) and I rather enjoyed the dreams though.
Avatar m tn Yes, it is possible to have sleep apnea and still have vivid dreams. Some people's apnea is worse in different positions such as on their back, so there could be more dreaming when side sleeping, etc. Also, remembering your dreams could be a sign you were awakened during them, which apnea can do as it is often worse during REM. I've read (don't know for fact) that while our dreams seem like long scenes there really just seconds long.
Avatar f tn Totally normal, the hormones make your dreams more vivid and because they are more vivid you actually remember more of them. I have had some really messed up dreams and even more nightmares. My latest one was getting chased through the hospital by a knife wielding psycho. I've had to stop watching zombie related stuff (movies, video games, the works) because then I get zombie nightmares.
Avatar f tn Soooo normal and this is my second pregnancy.. vivid dreams was the reason I thought I needed to do a test haha.
Avatar f tn Sometimes I have really vivid dreams that are nice and happy or just funny and crazy. But sometimes and most of the time actually, they are night mares. It's so scary. Anywhere from monsters, being attacked, someone dying, losing my baby... It was the same way with my first pregnancy. With her I remember one of the dreams I had. I opened up the fridge to find a snack and there was a hamburger and a hot dog yelling at me to eat them. They had mouths, eyes... it was crazy....
Avatar f tn then the whole isis thing surfaced and what they have been doing to the children.. I think our dreams increase and our intuition and connectiveness with one another as well. I also think the bad dreams are sorting some emotions out. They say the body heals itself during pregnancy so I took the dreams as cleansing to get me mentally well for baby... and hormones haha.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing these so called "vivid dreams" recently and I must say, I DON'T LIKE THEM AT ALL! A lot of the dreams involve my husband cheating on me, and last night I had a dream that I delivered the baby very early, and the doctors made me keep him in a Ziploc bag that was filled with the amniotic fluid and when he needed to eat, I would make sure that he swallowed the fluid.
676032 tn?1315674063 I have had the vivid nightmarish dreams on and off for a few years now and found them to occur when I am either Hyper or heading hyper. In that sense I mean the FT3 and TSH being a little high. I go through phases where I may sleep all night for days then I get the 'lovely' dreams for a few nights where I have horrid dreams about my kids being hurt. I really dont know what causes the dreams but remember that before RAI, I had these dreams a lot when I was Hyper then too.
213991 tn?1214273019 Ya melatonin does cause vivid dreams in some ppl i read in one of my bodybuilding magazines.
Avatar n tn I am 30 weeks and have been having vivid and weird dreams since past few weeks...some r scary but nothing related to baby or labor.
Avatar f tn I have had crazy vivid dreams but none that have come true yet lol
652671 tn?1353712165 No one died, but it was so vivid. I was mad at my boyfriend for some stupid reason, and I just went Rambo and tied him to a chair, took a razor and made little cuts on his skin and dumped vinegar on them. I would NEVER THINK about something so sadistic when i was awake let alone dream about stuff like that normally. does anyone else have strange VIVID nightmares on these meds? i've been having a really hard time finding a med that has tolerable side effects and that actually helps me.
