Lexapro and vivid dreams

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro and vivid dreams

lexapro

991895 tn?1259351987 I'm taking Lexapro 10 mg and also have very vivid dreams nightly. My mother, who left us when I was a teenager, is generally in the dreams. I'm happy taking Lexapro -- it has very much changed my life and outlook. However, I will say that the dreams are very bothersome and can wear you down. It's hard to appreciate the effects of the day when you are still tired from dreaming the night before.
Avatar n tn The dreams are definitely the worst part of taking the Lexapro. I get on it- only 5 mg, and in the morning- after a couple of weeks, the dreams start. I am afraid to go to bed because I don't know what the dreams will be. Some are really disturbing. Then, I go off the Lexapro. The dreams go away starting ni a couple weeks. Then, I go back on the lexapro for its intended purpose. After about two weeks: it happens again, all over.
Avatar f tn It might help with the restless thoughts. I got vivid dreams on Paxil, but I kind of liked them, and I get some nightmares on Lexapro, at least those rare nights when I can get into a deep enough sleep for them, but nightmares are just your brain shedding superfluous matter, nothing to worry about. They also make for good short stories, if you're into that kind of thing.
847195 tn?1296171647 Probably the Lexapro. If it's helping, learn to love the dreams. I had great dreams on Paxil, but I'm a writer, so I guess I don't mind vivid dreams as much as the next person.
Avatar f tn I just switched from citalopram 40 mg to escitalopram 10 mg and am experiencing very vivid and disturbing dreams every night. Also am sleeping 9-10 hours a night and am still exhausted. Wasn't like this with citalopram but it wasn't working as well as in the past. I'm also taking wellbutrin xl 150 mg. I experienced dizzy spells for a few days, but that has stopped. I've only been taking the esciatlopram for 3 weeks.
Avatar m tn I have recently had anxiety so my doctor put me on 20mg. I am on my second day and have experienced vivid dreams, diff. sleeping, waking up not seeing clearly, alomost confused or disoriented. Are these se normal with an increase in dosage, and when should they subside?
396099 tn?1216254986 I hope this is the stage at which things start to turn for the best. I've still got a very very mild stress level but it's very managable. Getting a bit better every day I think. Oh and the dreams are really "out there!" Not scary or exciting. Just extremely vivid.
Avatar m tn ill let you all know if i have crazy vivid dreams tonite....I WILL SAY AGAIN...thie tea is AMAZING...

Avatar f tn Anytime you mess with the amount of serotonin released in the brain you get side effects that can include VERY vivid dreams and/or nightmares. It happened to me when I started taking an SSRI years ago. All I can say (not being qualified to give medical advice) is talk to your doctor. There may be alternative drug combinations with less severe side effects.
Avatar f tn I have had very vivid dreams this whole pregnancy and before I did too. Alot of sex dreams and dreams about my fiancé cheating on me. They're both awful because I never "finish" in my sex dreams, the cheating ones are obviously awful and I rarely get a good nights sleep because when I wake up my mind feels like it was going all night long.
Avatar m tn I have recently been diagnosed with having Afib and my cardiologist prescribed Flecainide... I have been on the medication now for approx 2 months and I am having weird vivid dreams, nothing in the 'horror scary realm' but odd vivid stuff... I have checked various websites i.e. webMD etc and the Rx does not post a side effect of weird dreams. Is this common?
Avatar f tn You'll laugh but when I hit 20 weeks, I was having dinosaur dreams! Like jurassic park kind of dreams! Lol so weird & random & then last week I kept having nightmares- scary vivid, real like dreams.. I'd wake up in sweat! I'm 24 weeks now. But when I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks, I kept having horrible dreams of my baby dying. It was sad. So yes, I think it's normal to have wacky, vivid dreams! Haha hope yours don't get too crazy!
Avatar m tn i dont know if its the medication or something but ever since ive been taking prozac ive had scary vivid dreams, often scattering topics like religion, the end of the world, and events that ive expieranced earlier in the day all in one night. i woke up at 4:30 last night shaking because the dream felt so real. I was just wondering if this is natural with the prozac? have any of you experianced this?
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your input Paxiled. I needed to hear that because deep down I know that I don't need these medications. I don't have a mental problem just went thru a phase of mixed emotions. I fell in love and fell hard for someone. The relationship was a toxic one and we both knew it. Yet, we couldn't end it and just kept dragging it further on. My heart aches still. I just don't know how to snap out of this.
Avatar f tn had vivid dream about studying with Kyle Marshall and a storm
Avatar n tn I have very vivid dreams followed by severe vertigo, sometimes for days at a time. I take effexor for depression and altace for high blood pressure. Could medications be the cause?
Avatar m tn Yes, it is possible to have sleep apnea and still have vivid dreams. Some people's apnea is worse in different positions such as on their back, so there could be more dreaming when side sleeping, etc. Also, remembering your dreams could be a sign you were awakened during them, which apnea can do as it is often worse during REM. I've read (don't know for fact) that while our dreams seem like long scenes there really just seconds long.
Avatar f tn Anyone else haveing extremely vivid dreams? I have been dreaming every night and they are so vivid and a little odd. Maybe it's something I ate before bed?
Avatar n tn ) on clear blue shimmering sea with hot sunshine and blue sky. There were crocodiles in the water and although they tried to hurt us they couldn't. Back on the beach I wondered how I had got on holiday as I didnt remember traveling there - i just woke up there. I asked my friends and they just laughed and thought that was funny. I asked them where we were. It was a country called Penisulla. I had never heard of it before.
3926262 tn?1350439336 As many of you know, I am about to begin week 6 on triple therapy with incevik. I am also currently taking Lexapro to help with anxiety/depression. I have been experiencing numerous very graphic and disturbing dreams for the last couple of weeks. I am not sure if it's the tx or the Lexapro....or a combination of both? I have even awakened my husband by yelling out in my sleep.
612551 tn?1450022175 s a possibility. Strangely enough SSRIs can make for vivid dreams too. I was on one once (serzone) and I rather enjoyed the dreams though.
919307 tn?1290556219 Having vivid dreams again.. and the same weird kind of cramping. Hope that I did indeed ovulate already and this isn't another cyst month of wonder. Breasts don't hurt but are large.

Avatar f tn Actually quite the opposite. The only think I am dealing is vivid dreams at night. My doctor is looking into possibly changing my dosage. He thinks it may be a bit to much for me. Good Luck!
