Lexapro vs amitriptyline

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro vs amitriptyline

Avatar f tn Personally, I'd stay away from Paxil and Effexor just as Nursegirl said unless they were the last thing left to try. And I also agree, how long were you on the Lexapro? I've been on Paxil and Lexapro, and Paxil was much more sedating and made me gain a lot of weight, and I'm very active. Or was. Prozac can be stimulating, and its effectiveness with anxiety by reputation isn't as good as other ssris, but it is the most benign to stop taking.
Avatar m tn I'm seriously considering switching, because Amitriptyline has too many side effects. Amitriptyline is made in The Netherlands, by Centrafarm.
Avatar f tn I am taking avinza 90mg, xodol 3x daily, zanaflex 3x daily, 20mg lexapro, 60 mg cymbalta, lunesta,. I asked my pain doc to send me to detox. He agreed to this and said after all meds are out of my system we will start over and find the level of meds I need to relieve the pain. The problem wiith the meds I am presently taking is I can't afford them after settlement. I am really scared of the amount ot pain I am going to have after detox.
Avatar f tn Even with these results i still cant help but worry about things as i have not had a mri either as no one thinks it is needed but for peace of mind i would have liked one. I am on amitriptyline to help with the nerve pain as they think my nervous system has been over stimulated and will take time to calm down. Some things have improved but not alot and more things have added to my list of complaints.
Avatar n tn There is no where for the frequencies to escape when your ears are covered up vs. listening to normal shelf, desktop or floor speakers.
522415 tn?1242941355 there is not a medication that will take this pain away...NOTHING! the cymbalta, neurontin, amitriptyline, klonopin, suboxone, oxies, methadone, percs, vikes, morphine, tylenol, advil...there just isnt a thing that gives me any relief..i have stopped searching because i've tried it all, and nothing works, plain and simple. i really dont know how people can live like this, or for how long. the only relief i get is an occasional prescription of prednisone, 5 days worth...10 days of relief.
3229560 tn?1347041110 Regarding your statement about HIV and having a drug treatment vs. EBV. This is sort of a philosophical question. One is how much money can they make from an HIV drug vs. an EBV drug. Then there is that EBV may just be more elusive and difficult to treat or find a cure for like the common cold there is no cure. It mutates quickly. EBV hides out in cells. They have tried Acyclovir since it is in the Herpes family but it doesn't work.
Avatar f tn I'm healthy by normal checkups, work out most days but not seriously heavy, only 32, smoke and drink, just started electronic cigarettes two weeks ago, and on Lexapro for anxiety type of behavior from being ADHD.
Avatar n tn Did anyone ever find a cause for this? It happens to me all the time! I have tried explaining my symptoms to the doctors, but they never understand and haven't ordered any tests. I have had this problem for 10 years. I am afraid at this point to go to anymore doctors, because in my state, I could lose my driver's license. Without that, I will be unemployed.
