Avatar f tn And also I can stop it if I press just under my ear where the tmj is. I CAn control THE loudness by making more tension. It feels like its synchronized with my pulse. I also get it when I look up ( also to the maximum) and stops if I do the squeezing or push under ear. It also stops if I stop breathing and tension my neck muscle (when I blow). If I sleep on my stomach with my head free (head is then outside bed) so my head goes down, then i dont hear it at all even if turn to the right.

Im having an idea it's related with my ear problem, there's got to be something annoying in waking up on either part of it im not sure whether left or right, it's just that painful and then it'll be gone for moments after. how's are those three related?
Avatar m tn I have had chronic head pain that does not let up for the past four years. I have seen several doctors, tried chriopractor, Dentist. I cannot get a diagnosis for tghis pain. I am looking for anybody that has these same symtons and would like to know what you do for controlling the pain. I have tried several medications and none seem to help.

In addition, this pain exacerbate with prolonged sitting in a stooped posture and when working on a computers for long hours. On the other hand, there are patients who experience similar pain with sinusitis (sinus with infected mucus) and migraine.

Avatar f tn At the same time since you have difficulty in turning your head and pain in the neck and shoulders cervical spondylosis also needs to be excluded. Another cause could be migraine which can cause all these symptoms. Please discuss these possibilities with your neurologist. Keep us posted!
Avatar m tn TMJ disorders — a type of temporomandibular disorder or TMD — can cause pain in your jaw joint and in the muscles that control jaw movement and this can radiate to parts of your head. If it continues, then maybe a trip to your dentist might be of some help.

2134902 tn?1335849687 Going on 3 weeks now Ive had severe pain on the base of the right side of my head where my head meets my neck. The pain is constant and limits me from turning my head. When i do move my head i get a sharp stabbing pain that radiates upward (tingles) and towards my right ear and lower jaw. Ive experienced ringing ears, ear pain, dizziness and fatigue on top of it all. I have been unable to work for the duration of the symptoms and I have been visiting my FNP regularly.
Avatar m tn we did discover that my bite is off alignment my bottom jaw has grown to far so I get TMJ from eating my jaw joints are always a little sore , and when i relax the jaw or when the jaw decides to relax my vertigo usually greatly improves , its very easy to miss the jaw pain because of the dizzy pulsating movement u get so it took me a while to realise how sore my jaw joint actually is , one day i went to a chiropractor and he put his hand in my mouth and put pressure on my jaw and I felt the mus
Avatar m tn My daughter has been experiencing head pain around her ear, above and behind and the pain radiats to her lower jaw ... she noticed this 2 days ago and the only thing she recalls that can have an effect on her was that she wore ear phones in music class and wears earrings..but I don't know if this contributes to the pain or caused it.. I gave her tylenol yesterday and it didn't help so today I tried Excedrin....What can be causing this pain?
Avatar n tn I have noticed the pain go to as far as my jaw. I though it maybe something to do with my jaw because my jaw is set far back anyway (i have problems with my teeth) but I am getting no pain in my jaw. I have no vision problems. I was tested 2 months ago because doctor noticed I had large optic disks but the eye doctor said I was fine and it was physiologic disk cupping, meaning i was born with it and its not harmful.
Avatar n tn ve had a new one that started on my left temple that radiates to my jaw and to the back of my head and when I use my abdomen muscles (cough, sneeze, etc) it would shoot pain up from the back of my head that felt like lightning. The new pain is caused by a muscle spasm on the left side of my head. I now take muscle relaxers for the pain and it has helped. To me it sounds like your mother could also be having a muscle spasm since her eye is turning.
Avatar m tn i have the same symtomps assiosiated with neck pain shoulder pain & dizziness. the more i talk, the dizziness & back of head are so tight & pain. have you got any solutions?
Avatar f tn I too have head and neck pain feeling as though I have a cap on my head (left side). I first put it down to a draft where I work, it comes and goes. I was recently diagnosed with lichen planus and wondered if it could be related to this. I believe it could be stress related too. Have you had bloods done? Seen a dentist?
4494800 tn?1355440491 ear pain, temple pain, and bottom of jaw pain), the clicking in the back of your head would not fit. Clicking in the jaw joint, however would match up with a TMJ issue. So, you are likely describing two different things- one has to do with your TMJ, but the clicking in the back of your head (if not being misperceived as coming from that location) may have a different source- have you tried neck exercises where you hear this clicking? (I noticed you mentioned shaking your head)?
Avatar n tn I've suddenly got this pain when turning my head to the left after last night's sleep. The pain also occurs when everytime I do anything with my left arm. However, I already know I have costrochrondritis which is a very sharp pain in my sternum as a result of excessive strain (preventing my 240kg motorbike from falling) a few weeks ago. X-rays picked up nothing.
Avatar m tn For several weeks I get a pain in the back of my head when I turn my head (not every time I turn my head) Also when I bite down and pulled a piece of jerky with my teeth I got the pain in the back of my head. It also feels like there was static making the back of my hair stand up and I have a short military hair cut and my wife looked and said no hair was moving. I did go to the med clinic for pain in my back and they said I had pulled something the pain went from my back to my shoulder.
Avatar m tn I have allot of snap crackle pop when turning my head and also a tingle in my left ear (dropping my jaw gets rid of that). Sometimes also I get a slight pain across my chest and numbness down my left arm all the way down to my left 2 fingers. I've had this for about a month now. I had something similar to this about 2 years ago that lasted about 3 months and then it just seemed to go away but has left me paranoid that it would happen again.
