After reading about CTE being caused by ANY HIT to the head, I am now wondering about the possibility after hitting the same spot a hundred times in 2 weeks and causing a rotational shake of my head. So my question is... how hard do these hits have to be? Is any form of vibration/shock to the skull bad and cumulative to CTE? It's so vague idk how to get over this without answers. I'm afraid my own anxiety could have made this a possibility.

I, personally, have had a block injection where the Dr injected into my muscle and I had jaw pain instantly (intense pain) and then numbness on that whole quadrant for almost two weeks. Your tongue and the roof of your mouth may feel that way because of the lack of "feeling" in your tongue, so the texture feels different. If it continues much longer, I would schedule a follow-up visit with your Dr for this reason.
Can someone just explain why i would feel pain in my head when i tap my jaw with my hand. Anywere on my jaw if i hit it with my hand i feel a jolt of pain in my head?? But i can move my jaw around perfectly so i know its not a jaw problem its almost like something is vibrating into my skull when i hit my jaw.
Per my experience there are few doctors that really take the time that we need to properly diagnose jaw pain. There seems to be a quick easy direction to the TMJ when it may not be. If you have had any trauma to your face or its a birth defect you may have what happened to me. I cant remember the name of the bone but it sticks up from the lower jaw and its long.
I have had chronic head pain that does not let up for the past four years. I have seen several doctors, tried chriopractor, Dentist. I cannot get a diagnosis for tghis pain. It feels like the pain you would have with a severe sinus infection along with all of my upper teeth constantly hurting, and the feeling of a deep ear ache. I am looking for anybody that has these same symtons and would like to know what you do for controlling the pain. I have tried several medications and none seem to help.
My son is 8 months old and has for some time (approx 3 Months) been hitting his head, originally with his hand and now it has progressed to any hard object he holds, like the remote control or plastic toys. He doesn't hit it hard but it's quite concerning and distressing for us and I personally end up taking whatever he has off him and tell him no, which invariably ends up in him crying.
A week ago I woke up in the middle of the night with head pain on the back of the head. Thought nothing of it and figured it was my pillow. I kept changing out pillows for a few nights until the pain started hitting me in the day time, it passes then comes back. Not super bad but sometimes enough to take a pain killer which doesnt always work.
I was playing around with a friend and he hit me in the lower jaw pretty hard (normal punch, not uppercut or something like that, my jaw didn't move) , when i got hit i felt my brain literally hit the inside of my skull (in the back).
Aside from that there were no other immediate symptoms. I was drunk at the time and after a few hours i also vomited, but i'm pretty sure it was from the drinking also dizzy a few hours later , i assume again from the drinking.
Now im having deep throat pain on my right side everytime i swallow including the jaw and inner ear pain at once. That pain in my throat hurts whn i turn my head to the left but not the right. The pain is literally one the right side. this is all becoming too much. It wont go away and im a little worried irritated and becoming agitated with the whole thing. Im am just giving up on going to the doctor and hear the same thing about the inflammation.
My daughter has been experiencing head pain around her ear, above and behind and the pain radiats to her lower jaw ... she noticed this 2 days ago and the only thing she recalls that can have an effect on her was that she wore ear phones in music class and wears earrings..but I don't know if this contributes to the pain or caused it.. I gave her tylenol yesterday and it didn't help so today I tried Excedrin....What can be causing this pain?
Allergies to that material is certainly a thought, although I had another crown on the other side done after that. Also, I was having pain around the two teeth on the lower jaw, where the temporary cap was hitting. The dentist ground on the lower teeth to level out the bite, and I am wondering why the pain, why he chose to work on the lower ones instead of fixing the temporary one above, and why there was so much pain just from a wrong bite.
I too have head and neck pain feeling as though I have a cap on my head (left side). I first put it down to a draft where I work, it comes and goes. I was recently diagnosed with lichen planus and wondered if it could be related to this. I believe it could be stress related too. Have you had bloods done? Seen a dentist?
Since early hours this morning ive had really bad Tooth and jaw pain then the pain went to the bottom of my jaw and the top of my head then it stopped then I had a bad jaw and earache then that stopped then I had a pain on the top bit of my nose to my head and so on, I got told that jaw pain in pregnancy but ive never met anyone who has had It, is this Normal it not becuse im in alot of pain and paracetamol never works!!
Hi, About 20 yrs ago i was in a really violent relationship, where i received numerous injuries including a broken jaw, i was stabbed in the head, hit around the the head with the butt of a gun numerous punches to the head, but for the last couple of years my head-aches have been getting very intense & very regular. I went to see my doctor about this & to my utter amazement I was told it was all in my head (Err i think i knw that)..
