Avatar f tn Often (which happened just last night) knee and elbow pain keep me up as they get so achy and sore and couldn’t find any relief. So is this arthritis?? What can I do to relieve some of the pain? I also suffer from lower back pain and my jaw has always cracked when i open my mouth for as long as I can remember.
Avatar m tn I have almost every day muscle and joint pain, and I get red spots on my handpalm and under my feet. I get pain on my foot joint, knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers and jaw. The pain change every day, one day I have pain only on my knee and the other day I have pain on my jaw and wrist. Five years ago I went to the Netherlands to study. In 2004 is when it started, I went to two rheumatologist, but the results show that I don’t have Rheumatoid arthritis.
Avatar m tn Just want to understand what I would expect should I need to go through anything. I've been having lots of jaw and neck issues, which I think could potentially use some form of surgery. I've been avoiding it by doing some therapy at home but it only works to an extent. My concern is the anesthesia and also any medications I need to take for pain after the surgeries, if I choose to do this, would have on the liver. Wonder what experiences everyone has had with this.
Avatar n tn Hope some of this is useful to you. My last jaw surgery (my 5th) was 10.5 hours long and they rebuilt the jaw using rib bones and tissues from my upper thigh, and turned out wonderfully. It has been 10 years and all I get is some muscle tension. No clicking or grinding. and I open at 40mm. (after surgery I was opening at 2mm) One last thing. A physiotherapist trained in jaw joints is worth their weight in gold. Pre or post surgery.
Avatar m tn Also, I have cold knee symptoms while sitting down and i can feel nodes on top of both my knees. Also, the back side of my left knee was paining one evening but my right knee was fine. Also on one particular day i felt some pain on my shoulder blades, starting more on my left shoulder area. But it subsided by the next day. I also noticed today that when i started walking i could feel pain on my hips. I'm 32, male, with high LDL and high SGPT. and borderline sugar.
Avatar f tn Can TMJ cause tingling in your back, neck and calf? And can TMJ also cause pain in knee joints? I know this sounds strange but my ENT thinks I have TMJ and has referred me to a specialist even though a few of my symptoms are neurological. I have already gone through the gammet of testing including MRI's of head and neck and blood tests. I also had all of the ENG tests. Everything is normal.
Avatar n tn I have recently started having random joint pain, shoulder, wrist, hand, knee and have found that resting the joint in a splint or brace reallly helps. However, the latest pain is in my jaw - this happened last night. Anybody else had this?
Avatar n tn What was your osteotomy for? The clicking jaw and pain could be due to the surgery. This is something you should follow up with the treating surgeon.
Avatar f tn t clenched since and I have never had this issue before, I make sure to be aware during the day and at night i pillow myself in so I can only sleep on my back (when i sleep on my back my mouth falls open) . However in 2005 I had jaw surgery so I have plates in my jaw. I am concerned I may have done some real damage, Should I go to a Maxillofacial surgeon or is it normal for it to take this long to subside?
Avatar m tn I just went back the other day for my follow up because my knee pain has gotten worse and he thinks i have damaged cartilage in my knee and if i do he said i need surgery. So if i do have to have surgery how long is the recovery and will i have to wear knee braces if i play these sports from now on?
Avatar f tn Hi katie761, I know that you are very concerned about this surgery but I'm "keeping my fingers crossed" that this will be the last surgery that you will need on your knee and you will be able to get the relief that you so desperately deserve!! You never cease to amaze me with your courage in handling all of these medical obstacles that you have been faced with. Just hang in there and keep your chin up. I will be here for you and so will everyone else on here.
Avatar n tn A related discussion, bagk and neck pain was started.

Avatar f tn I feel ur pain, I haven't walked in two mos since surgery. Hope it's just heeling process and not any complications. No answers yet for my questions, good luck.
Avatar f tn I have knee pain and swelling that comes and goes. I have been to an Orthopedic and have had x-rays and MRI. Nothing specific was noted in the x-ray and scan. The Dr suggested orthoscopic surgery to see what he might be able to do. I have not had the surgery. He also suggested I may have osteoarthritis. The pain will come with walking, sometimes very quickly and sometimes not much at all.
Avatar f tn i have severe jaw pain. was diagnosed with TMJ a few months back but i think i have had it for awhile longer. i grind my teeth severely at night. my pain is getting worse. what type of doc do i see for this?
Avatar f tn My first knee replacement was in 2002. Second one was in 2003 (on the other knee). For a number of years now I have had pain in my "knees". Even the tissue surrounding them. I've noticed that I can hear the prosthesis move when I move my leg. I swing my legs and they make a funny noise. Today I went to an orthopaedic surgeon about another (unrelated) problem and asked him about the pain in my knees.
Avatar n tn I have had pain in the left joint of my jaw for years now. As far as I can remember I have not been knocked in that area. The area of pain can stretch from the lower jaw area right up to my ear and can even give me neck pain. It causes pain when I open my mouth wide and always feels like the bones are 'clicking' and 'clunking' out of place. I have had phisio on the joint but that is only a stretch of the muscle and the pan is always present.
Avatar f tn Hi my name is jacob and i've had 2 knee surgeries. On 4/13/07 i got into a bad motorcycle accident that broke my left knee. The urgent care I went to told me that it was a fractured tib/fib plateau and that it would heal soon. They said that i could walk on it when i wanted to and gave me 20 vicodin 500s. The surgeuon that my insurance had was on vacation but when he got back almost a week after my break, he called me and told me that i need emergency knee surgery.
Avatar n tn ve been on Unemployment for some time. I am having a lot of trouble with excruciating pain in the back of my knee, which I now only have the ability to partially flex. All care has been through L.A.County. I've recently had an MRI done and apparently the report says, "meniscal problem with arthritic changes". I have had 2 previous arthroscopies on the same knee. The 1st was approximately 25 years ago to repair a meniscal tear. It worked great for about 10 years.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have knee pain like a torn meniscus pain? I went to stand up and I couldn't hardly put weight on it. My husband mentioned maybe it's nerve pain? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn I had gastric bypass surgery & now that ive lost 82 lbs, im having more knee pain than before the surgery. I would occasionally have knee pain when I was extremely overweight whenever going up & down stairs. Now that I ve lost the weight, my knees hurt more often & I have to be careful when stepping up or down stairs, or bending over to pick something up off the floor. Is this because im not working out at all?
