Avatar f tn Which they gave me a local. After the surgery a few weeks later my right jaw started hurting. I went to the ENT specialist and it turned out my ears were infected and full of fluid. My jaw continued to hurt. I received a full round of ATB. During this time I went to the dentist 2 times. No-one can figure out what is wrong with my jaw. In June I received bilateral tubes in my ears. The pain continued. I went to the Chiro x's 5. This give me relief for a short period.

Avatar f tn my surgeon said that the pain was only supposed to last a week at most, and that after two weeks the cyst removal area should be completely healed.
Avatar n tn I also have felt a little tingle in my face in that area when I open wide and hear a small click in my jaw. Does this sound like TMJ and could it be related to the surgery? Should I contact my oral surgeon or a dentist that specializes in this? I hope this pain is temporary because it is really annoying. I also had a dry socket/slow heal on that side, but it feels fine now. This seemed to come out of the blue! Anyone experience this? Thanks in advance!!

Avatar n tn I have had massive problems in my jaw - facial pain, jaw pain, tooth pain, neck pain, throat pain, ear pain and headaches. Plus ringing in my ear. I'm hoping this relieves some of it.
Avatar f tn I went to the ER with chest, jaw and arm pain. They put in two stents in the cath lab. I did not have surgery. I don't know if these pains are cardiac or not, I just know I didn't have them before all this started.
Avatar f tn My dad has right arm pain after eating. It starts in bicep and spreads to thumb and then radiates up in chest and jaw. Three days ago he had two discs replaced in his neck, four bone spurs removed, and two pinched nerves released. This was all done in his neck. He is now saddened because after eating only two bites of ice cream his severe arm pain has begun again. What is happening? He has suffered with this four years and has had many tests run and xrays.
Avatar n tn I have throbbing pain and heat in my jaw and my tooth is now very tender 3 days after treatment. I had an aortic valve replacement 10 years ago and am worried about infection and whether I need any antibiotics, having been given none at any stage. I was told after heart valve surgery that I had to be very careful about infections. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn But the one that would concern me to immediately rule out is a cardiovascular reason. Women in particular can have lower left jaw pain during a heart attack. Now, I know this isn't presenting exactly that way for you but still is worth checking out. If you have any other symptoms with it like shortness of breath or chest discomfort, please go to the ER. The one thing that I think is fairly common is nerve compression called Trigeminal neuralgia. This is a big reason we get jaw pain.
Avatar n tn There is no typical cardiogenic chest pain, which is crushing precordial pain radiating to the jaw, arm and neck, relieved with sublingual nitrates. other possibilities for the muscle spasms can be chest injuries, previous chest surgery, possible culprit, any history of athletics, stress fractures , pulled chest muscles. Fibromyalgia is an important condition of chronic fatigue which causes severe muscle pain, with muscle spasms in chest.
1098999 tn?1276787267 granted i'm not even a week out of surgery but still.did anyone have issues with swallowing and opening their mouth after surgery? I'm having that issue now and it's like I can't open it too far to put food in my mouth and then it hurts to swallow anything...and i never had any pain in my throat after surgery from the tube being down. it's almost as if it's muscular but not muscular. i don't know how else to describe it.
Avatar m tn A week has gone by from all four impacted wisdom teeth were surgically removed. My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?
Avatar n tn What was your osteotomy for? The clicking jaw and pain could be due to the surgery. This is something you should follow up with the treating surgeon.
1755089 tn?1376053555 I will also add, I have not had that type of pain since surgery...I may have occasional facial pain that feels more like a sinus issue...but nothing like the other pain I used to get.
Avatar n tn I also have alot of pain and tightness in the jaws in the mornings and it takes a while for me to be able to fully open my mouth. There is pain with chewing, yawning, talking and side movements of my jaw. I have also been getting alot of pretty bad headaches, I wake up in the middle of the night at times due to headaches and usually always have one when I awaken in the mornings.
659608 tn?1318289366 It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
Avatar m tn I am a 26 year old male, 5'11 240 lbs. For the past 3 or 4 months I have been having intermittent left arm pain that tends to change in places where it hurts ranging from my shoulder all the way down to the tips of my fingers and anywhere in between in my arm. Some times it hurts all the way down my arm and sometimes I may just have one little spot on my arm or even finger that hurts by itself. My right arm has hurt occasionally but not very often at all.
Avatar n tn About a year ago I started getting chest, upper back, shoulder and jaw pain. I noticed that the jaw and arm pain in particular seemed to be more prominent about 10 minutes into exercising. I had a stress echo which was normal. Pain is on and off, both with and without exertion. Forward to Summer... the discomfort while exercising seems more prominent again. Went to a second cardiologist for a 2nd opinion and had another stress test. All results were normal.
Avatar f tn Have been doing very well since surgery. Started having strange headaches last year in left temple and jaw area. Went to e/r and after cat scan was told it was most likely TMJ. I have been wearing bite guard for last year and it got better but started hurting again this week really bad and having spasms in jaw and now my neck is killing me on the left side. Pain is going up the left side of neck and down left shoulder into arm.
Avatar f tn I have developed a blue spot on the chewing surface of the tooth. I am facial pain around by jaw and ear. I had jaw surgery 10 years ago with plates and screws. Could the jaw pain be from the plates and screws in by jaw.
Avatar f tn t clenched since and I have never had this issue before, I make sure to be aware during the day and at night i pillow myself in so I can only sleep on my back (when i sleep on my back my mouth falls open) . However in 2005 I had jaw surgery so I have plates in my jaw. I am concerned I may have done some real damage, Should I go to a Maxillofacial surgeon or is it normal for it to take this long to subside?
Avatar n tn If it's heart ischemia and brought on by eating, it would also be brought on by exercise at that stage, even walking up a slight incline. Stress can obviously affect the digestive system dramatically, so I would get a Doctor to check you out.
Avatar m tn Does this sound right to you all? The only symptom I have is jaw pain, and it only comes with high exertion (no jaw pain when walking or on elliptical machine. Only get it when running). So, it is stable angina at this point. Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I'm on meds for cholesterol, etc. Just wanted to make sure this was all correct and that I'm doing the right thing. I'm in my mid-thirties.
Avatar m tn I had the two lowers removed (both impacted) and felt that the majority of the site was fully healed 2 weeks after surgery. \However, on Friday night (about 3.5 weeks after surgery) I heard a weird crick/pop in my jaw when going to eat a piece of bread that felt somewhat painful but didn't think anything of it. The next morning I woke up with extreme swelling on my left jaw (kind of how day 2 looked), felt a golf ball size lump on my cheek and can't open my jaw that much.
Avatar m tn I am 53 and had a stent placed for angina and 80% block on LAD. Since then I have had continued chest pains (they mainly come in my back) which I also feel in my jaw and arm. My cardiologist is insisting it's not cardiac, have been to ER a couple of times, all tests (troponin, ecg) clear. Strange though that my CK is raised but noone mentioned that.
