Avatar f tn Eat plenty of carbs before workout but don't go overboard. Don't eat carbs after 7pm or so. Eat about 1g of protein for every pound of body weight per day. Fish and lean meat have lots if protein. Protein shakes will help with bulk. Don't use creatine too much, it isn't too good for your heart :/ Of course eat minimal junk food and plenty of fruit and vegtables. There are also supliments called animal cuts you should check out. They're quite good.

Avatar n tn I would also recommend that you see your pump trainer and if you have access to a dietician, this will help you with the carb counting. With the pump trainer, you may need to learn how to cover the carbs a bit better with your insulin. I am impressed with your knowledge and concerns and it sounds that you realize the possible complications that can result from running high blood sugars. It is wonderful that you are trying to bring down your A1c. 10 is diffently too high.
Avatar m tn I have seen some studies that support that vitamin D supplementation even helps people with kidney disease. The only thing that you have to be cautious of is that you are not taking too much. So if your vitamin D level is not over 100 then I would not worry.

Educate yourself about the foods available to you, what you put into your body and how these foods will affect your life. All carbohydrates are broken down to glucose to produce the energy. But there are two forms of carbohydrates that diabetics need to understand. The good is complex carbs, what you should eat.

370801 tn?1264405018 After searching the internet and coming up with nothing time and time again about this mix... I am left in a slight dilemma. Firstly,I take Wellbutrin XL 150 mg per day for depression. I find it is working well for me. It does not cause me to be agitated at all. In fact, I feel totally normal on it. It has had the opposite effect on me I find, making me more relaxed or sleepy at times. I take the Wellbutrin XL at 8am everyday. By the time 5pm rolls around, I want to hit the gym.
Avatar m tn I believe when this question was asked before, one responder mentioned one person suffered anxiety after taking it. Not much of a sample, but the only reason to take creatine, really, is if you're competing professionally and this will help you to do better. But for most people, creatine isn't stimulating, it's to build bigger muscles, if you believe the advertising. Too much is bad for you.
Avatar n tn Metforman is not like taking an aspirin, it can take 6 to 8 weeks to build up to full strength. Its not a drug you take for a short term goal, like take it because your going to have a high carb dinner to night, but tomorrow you wont take it because your going to eat a low carb dinner. dont work like that.
Avatar m tn I am just a wreck with all this. You know how I feel, I feel AWFUL. I still have to take care of kids and house and my elderly mom, which is very hard. Yes the doctor gave me a higher dose. My hair is falling out everywhere. I have a theory. I stopped all fish oil and vitamins because I think the thyroid slows everything down. I think I can't process the vitamins. The rash on the back of my hands is better after stopping the fish oil.
Avatar m tn Make sure your drinking lots of water with creatine deapeding on your size drink at least a gallon a day and try to take breaks on creatine example one month on one moth off I hope this help taking creatine incorrectly will not work or benifit you if this does not help stop creatine beacause there is not enough information on it for it to be completely safe

899491 tn?1243773627 Just went to my pdoc yesterday. I didn't need to take moodstablizers. Instead he increased my Wellbutrin to 400 mg a day and told me to take 300 mg the next day. I have to alternate days. Then he put me on Abilify by giving me a starter pack. I got the chills last night and felt like I wanted to throw up but I didn't. I will take the drug alittle bit early today instead of taking it at 6pm. Abilify will cause insulin resistance syndrome too. I'm doing the Weight Watchers program.
Avatar m tn Since it only takes your body 1-2 hrs to digest carbs (if you add fiber to that, much faster) then 6-12 hrs total until bowel movement seems to be proper healthy time frame. BTW, many props on the black beans & leafy greens, this will help digest a bit faster, since they are loaded with fiber, and in turn help speed up metabolism. It takes the body about 4 hrs to digest fats and about 6 for proteins.

Avatar n tn People who fail at gaining muscle are failing because they are toning the muscle by doing too much at the gym. To gain muscle, less is more. So lift MUCH heavier for less time! Try protien powders as supplements as protien helps the muscle to repair itself, but just remember it's healthier to get your nutrients from food as much as possible.
