Avatar f tn They told us it might be myotonia and that we have to repeat the test in 10 days. Online, blue nails are linked to heart disease. Is it possible to be myotonia or a heart disease? What are other symptoms I should spot to be more sure?
Avatar n tn Basically I just need someone to help calm my fears about what is going on and help me understand whether my heart problems could be caused from a TSH level off this little amount. Thanks in advance.

Avatar n tn Please help me as I feel like there is something going on with my body and my doctor and the hospital and both told me that my nails are nothing to worry about and that everything according to my blood test, besides the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, is fine. Also, I am 19 and over weight but my doctor has reassured me that there is nothing to worry about.

Avatar n tn Looks like fungus on 4 nails. One is at center of the nail so am sure this is fungus and they are bothering me again and want to chew them. Could nail fungus and chewing my nails have caused sarcoidosis and could it also have been the cause of my persistant nausea for months now? I will be seeing the doctor soon, but this is bugging me. Could I have prevented this if I hadn't chewed my nails.

Avatar n tn I put this in the heart section because I figured it may have something to do with various heart problems I've had my whole life. My fingernails (particularly the base) are always discolored - either blue or purple. Does anybody know what this is about? And if it's something I should have checked out or nothing to worry about? I'm only 20, so it can't be anything age-related. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I have very weak, thin, finger nails that break or split horizontally and/or vertically, moons only on my thumb and 1st fingers, multiple thin ridges going up and down on my nail beds & a few fingernails that are flat or bend under. I also have mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation - grade 3. Are my fingernails indicative of either my thyroid or heart problem?
Avatar n tn hey. i've been having pvc's and my doctor put me on toprol XL 25 mg/day and they stopped for awhile and i weaned myself off the toprol. needless to say, the pvc's came back 3 weeks later. i also noticed lately that my fingernail beds are really pale but at the end behing the white part it is a dark pink. does anybody else notice this? i know that nails can give clues to health problems and i read that it can be related to heart problems.
Avatar f tn Your nails could be falling off if the coalition places your foot in a position where the toes are in constant contact with the sides of the shoes, which would cause increase rubbing and enable them to detach and fall off. Are your nails falling off on both feet? If so, it may not be due to the coalition. You may also want to re-evaluate your diet: do you consume enough water, protein, vitamins/minerals? Do you have nail fungus?

1742220 tn?1331356727 idk. i know i'm writing for no one, I should really be writing for just me. But sometimes I feel ... idk that inner slug. Like slug of the mind. And oddly, that seems to change .. well I guess not oddly ... when I'm high. It don't matter though, I mean. Every time is the first time for me. Though thank God physically it's not.
Avatar n tn m a 23 year old female with no other conditions except well-controlled thyroid disease and a little scar tissue in my right temporal lobe from a benign brain tumor that was removed 6 years ago. My finger nails are kind of purplish too and I saw a pulmonologist two years ago and he said i couldn't get a good breath but he couldn't see why and it wasn't asthma. He also saw that my pulse ox would go down to 84 when I walked around but didn't know why.
448723 tn?1301454958 On Thursday night I experienced an erratic heartbeat (for the 2nd time) and it went for around 8 hours. My heart was jumping all over the place and alternated between feeling like someone was kicking it and like someone was standing on it. At times it was difficult to breathe, and I did quite a bit of involuntary wheezing. Of course I should have gone to the hospital at the time, but I didn't want anything to be wrong.
957315 tn?1277563591 m thinking that my hair problems might have been caused by too much soy since I was baking soy muffins and eating one every day for breakfast. We'll see.
1616953 tn?1443835511 Beth and I are kind of being arms length. I think I've gotta get off the computer or spend more quality time. Got into bed and tried to decode some kind of pattern to my heart irregularity. For a while (Prev night) I thought it had some repeating cycle. Like 8 beats before it skipped then 4 beats for a while then back to 8 and then 16. All really interesting except none of that happened when I started paying attention last night.
Avatar f tn I had mild depression at the beginning of my pregnancy and my doctor actually recommended getting my nails done. She told me to treat myself and just have a relaxing day. So go ahead and get them done. Just like the others said, try a mask or vent out the fumes.
Avatar n tn Hello, There is no reported evidence of hysterectomy and HRT causing dark nails but dark nails can be the result of vitamin B12 defciiency. Take vita B 12 supplements for some days and check whether the symptoms improve. Sometimes dark nails can be contributed to circulatory problems, which will result in limited blood flow to your hands, legs and heart. Your blood vessels become blocked which obstructs the natural blood flow.

977832 tn?1248281938 I am an eighteen year old female, and have been wondering for some time whether or not I am at slight risk for a heart condition. My fingernails are mounded/crested, especially my thumbnails, and I've been told this is often a symptom for heart disease (however, I also chewed my nails quite a bit as a child, so this might have added to it). I am also frequently cold, particularly in my extremities (hands and feet), and wonder if I have poor circulation.
Avatar n tn The dip is near the middle of the nails and goes across, the rest of the nails is okay though. I hope you can help me. Thank you very much!
