It is now almost 3am so I took 20 mg of cyclobenzaprine and the am dose of gabapentin. Is this safe? Like I said I am new to these meds and want to make sure I am not overdoing it.

I soon fixed it myself, as all the different meds the psychiatrists tried me with, only made me worse with nausea added to the mix Weaned off all those before I got too addicted, and began taking gabapentin again, which solved the whole problem. I had stopped taking the Gabapentin suddenly, as I didn't have the money for it., and that is what caused the anxiety/depression. Now that is, or was under control, I cannot bear to feel this anxiety jitters and strange scared feeling again!

t think the Flexeril is going to have much w/d but I have been anxious and not sleeping good, especially on the 1 year old pieces, also not very accurate getting 1/2 a pill out of pieces, I have newer just using the old ones 1st. Between the Valium, Gabapentin and Flexeril I've had help sleeping for 20 years. I hate 4-5 hours or less of sleep, can't function well. Went to a Holistic Dr who recommended a glass of wine before bed. That sounds dumb.

I went to a new doctor that put me on Gabapentin about 30 days after my last dose of valium. I asked him if it was addictive and he said no. I asked people about it, a couple said they had w/d from it but not bad, contrary to what I read on drugs.com, most everybody said they didn't have any problems getting off it.

Now, we are on 3000 mg. of Gabapentin, and my physiacrist decided to try Valium at 5mg, first week going to 10 mg. the next week, at night time. I was told that in NO WAY can I take the Baclofen, ( warning on bottle), or the flexeril and no grapefruit juice or grapefruit. The warnings are crazy and my mother was hooked on Valium, and now I am scared to be on it.

My body aches all over, I feel nausea, I have bad head aches, and my breathing seems difficult. Sometimes, I can take Gabapentin and have almost no side effects at all. I am always impotent when I take Gabapentin. Is it dangerous to take the medication on an occasional basis and risk having the side effects?

I get diaphragm spasms and some are so strong they have pulled the ligaments attached to my ribs. I take fast acting valium when I get the spasms. They feel like I am having the wind knocked out of me. In my case it may or may not be MS. What is important is if I treat it. I get them if I over exert. Run across a street in traffic, work in the yard, ride horses.

What I can say it was amazing how much easier withdrawals were. I have detoxed 6 times and this last time took the gabapentin. What a difference it made! Congrats on going at it again. Relapse happens to the best of it. All you can do is use it as a learning experience, look this addiction in the eyes, and toss it to the curb! Stay strong! In feeling the need to add more information, I have also been on Diazepam (Valium) as a muscle relaxer, and Gabapentin (Neurontin) as a nerve block, and Meloxicam as an anti-inflammatory. Wisely I decided to go cold turkey on all 4 at the same time, probably not a good idea?

I was prescribed valium for the first few nights. The physical part might not be as bad as you think. I personally wouldn't start taking a bunch of meds.

The only possible scenario that I can think of to use gabapentin for balance is that it is given for neuropathy (nerve pain ) and the doc thinks perhaps the nerve pain will go away and you will have increased proprioception (the sense that tells us where are body parts, i.e. arms and legs, feet, etc. in relation to the ground and other body parts). Still I think that's a HUGE stretch, even off-label.

I also take tranquilizers, those are powerful drugs and have to be used responsibly. And as for gabapentin, it is possible your doc thinks it may help it from experience in treating your condition, I don't know, but it is used for a number of things other than fibromyagia, including some muscle problems. Instead of gabapentin, I take its cousin pregabalin, altho I've been on both. I have severe lower back pain, it takes care of it.

Now will a little education under my belt and a LOT of trial and error I have discovered that while I do need pain meds the only pills that work for nerve pain are nerve medications such as Valium, Xanax, Gabapentin, ect. For me Valium works better than the Gabapentin. Work with your dr to see what will work for you, ask for a trial period on any new meds. It ***** to get stuck with a full script of a pill that is not helping and there is nothing you can do until it runs out.

Starting in August I started to have a lot of groin, back, leg and buttock pain bad enough to go to the e.r. I bought a dirtbike this year and me and my hubby thought it was from that. after being treated for sciatica and mri for bulging discs i went to the chiropractor 9 times.

Ryan, you and I touched base quite sometime back. I was taking Gabapentin for anxiety which wasn't doing any good. Since then I have changed psychiatrist. She has put me on Klonipin I am now up to .05 in the am and .25 in the pm, seems to be helping, but still am having some anxiety issues. She says that I cannot stay on this long term which I feel bad about as I have had little to no side effects. She says that it's not good for long term use.

Nuerontin (gabapentin) is thought to help with both the sweats from withdrawal and peripheral pain........ I was already taking it so I have no baseline study to quote....... It certainly didnt hurt anything............

I began taking Gabapentin for the electricity and muscle spasms in my legs. My initial dose was 100 mg at bedtime. Now, I am up to 100 mg 3 times daily. It has helped greatly, but recently I have been having some break-through spasms. I do not recall having had any "vibrations" from the medication itself.

I have taken gabapentin and xanax for 10+ years without problems. Xanax is a shorter acting benzodiazapine then librium. You may find you need less librium with gabapentin.

I have been on promethazine for nausea and they just make me tired. I was on the generic version of neurontin (gabapentin) and my NL had to take me off of it because I had terrible side effects from it. UGH. Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it!!!
