Avatar n tn I'm on Warfarin 6mg a day and have been told that it's not good for me to spend a lot of time out in the sun. Is this true? I'm also on 600mg of Gabapentin and would like to know more about it, also the Dr. has me on 2000mg of Vit. D3 a day and I was wondering if this is important and if so is it enought?
Avatar m tn every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis. Now, my right eye is getting fuzzy, not every day, but more days all the time. My doctor has said although I need back surgery, be careful doing that because it will possibly make your fibromyalgia worse. Will I ever be able to try medicines again? I have an allergy from them...swollen tongue and throat type but, can that ever change???/ Thanks.
Avatar n tn Hi, thanks for your reply and giving the necessary details. How old are you? Regarding the use of Gabapentin, you are regularly using since last September and had you suffered similar pains any time in the course of taking the drug? Although it has side effects as any other medicine, joint pain is not among the common or usual ones. You need to consult your attending doctor who had prescribed Gabapentin and update him of the possibility of the joint pains due to taking the drug.
216703 tn?1277679177 I am 3 wks post-op. I had an ORIF procedure for an oblique fracture of the distal third of my left tibia. I also fractured my fibula. It was from a gentle fall. I have a severe Vitamin D deficiency (less than 6) and am being treated with 50,000IU once a week for 10 weeks (I'm on week 6). Two years ago my bone density test revealed I had osteopenia. I'm concerned that I've progressed to osteoporosis. I'm 56 y/o female. I'm 5 feet 9 inches and weigh 260 lbs.
Avatar f tn which cause subclinical cushings, weight gain, osteoporosis, and problems with my immune system. I was on Ketaconozole 1200 mg per day for 1.5 yrs. that brought down my cortisol, I lost weight, my emotions leveled out. I recently went off the ketaconozole as an "experiment" to see if the cortisol level goes back up, and I gain weight again...and feel miserable. So far (3 weeks into this experiment) I am feeling okay...a little emotional, no weight gain.

In fact, I just posted for information about that a week or so ago and was given a couple of good sites. Here's the post: http://www.medhelp.

Avatar f tn Osteoporosis is the thinning of bone tissue and loss of bone density over time. If you do not get enough calcium, or if your body does not absorb enough calcium from the diet, bone production and bone tissues may suffer. As you age, calcium and phosphate may be reabsorbed back into the body from the bones, which makes the bone tissue weaker. And this happens with the bones of your entire body.

It has helped greatly, but recently I have been having some break-through spasms. I do not recall having had any "vibrations" from the medication itself.

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 2 years ago with Dexascan results having Z-scores slightly below -2.5. I should also mention that I have grade B spondilitis in my back at L5 and S1.
