I have been taking Gabapentin 100 mg for a couple of days and have had severe migraine slash sinus headache ever since. What does be from the medicine?
I have been on Gabapentin for over a year now, other than sometimes feeling tired or a little "uplifted" (I guess you can experience some euphoria sometimes)... I actually do not experience a headache with Gabapentin. In fact, it has actually helped with the chronic migraines I have. Right now, I've got something going on with TN or Bells Palsy or something and I have severe pain...
Saw a pain doctor for a back problem and he prescribed gabapentin. One dose of the pill knocked me down for a day and can't function under that med. Just feel llike this is more than a tension headache, as it never goes away. Did see ENT, had eyes checked when this all started and everything was ok there. Can't live this way so any help appreciated.
I was originally put on Gabapentin and had a quick large amount of weight gain. So they put me on Topamax to reverse the weight gain and for my migraines. It helped my migraines but within about 3 weeks I started having pins and needles sensation in my hands, which quickly started occurring in my feet. Within a week it went from pins and needles to a piercing pain as if being stung by bees and kept getting worse.
I recently started having to take gabapentin and it seems to be making me swell really bad! It makes my feet, legs, hands, & face swell up. Is this normal? Also started taking backofen for muscle spasms and every time I take it 20 to 30 mins later I get a pretty bad headache. Is this normal? Thank u for the advise and info in advance! I have this pain back of my head by my ear lobe it's on the left side numbness and twitching comes and goes 3-5 seconds and doesn't go away I wouldn't call it a headache does feel swollen on the left side no fever but the pain is constant and I have been prescribed gabapentin for nerve pain 300mg any advices would be helpful thanks waiting till tomorrow to go to the doctors

I have had horrible migraines for 10+ years which have become chronic daily headaches, manageable, but daily. A year ago I started having horrible pains at the base of my skull on the right side, some days it is a horrible stabbing pain, some days it is just a dull ache, but it is always there.
I took my first migraine 4 months ago and it has still not left me. I have had a headache daily since then, combined with light-headedness, sore neck, heat behind left eye and strange tingling sensations. I have noticed since the migraine strated that i have been more aware of my irregular heartbeat. I get palpatations and can hear my heart skip a beat in my head. I wouldnt be atall surprised if an irregular heartbeat is linked to migraine.
I see your point. However, would you classify my pain as a "headache"? I mean, I do have a headache, but also incision pain, and general body pain from terribly harsh chemo and radiation to the brain. Plus I do have a shunt from hydrocephalus caused by the tumor. Please give me some advise. This gabapentin is ********.
These brain zaps almsot drove me to suicide and I am hoping that getting off the Gabapentin and taking these withdrawal meds will help. Wish me luck and good luck to you as well. Much love, brother or sister. God bless you.
My husband 44 years old and healthy but over weight has had a bad headache every day non stop for 7 months now. It all started when he fell into a 10 foot empty swimming pool. He didnt hit or hurt his head or neck area but took the impact on his hip area which only briused him Since that day he has had a non stop headache on the right side near temple area.
I cut the Gabapentin to a lower dose and I think it was from another prescription Plavix and they changed it to Aggrenox I am doing fine now. Age is a bummer. I feel 30 but my body does not realize this!

I began taking Gabapentin for the electricity and muscle spasms in my legs. My initial dose was 100 mg at bedtime. Now, I am up to 100 mg 3 times daily. It has helped greatly, but recently I have been having some break-through spasms.
I do not recall having had any "vibrations" from the medication itself.
After the tap I lost hearing for about a week and suffered from a spinal tap headache. Since then my life has not been the same. Constant pains in the neck and headaches ( different from my migraines), just recently I have these ice pick type pains in my head when I cough, sneeze , bend over or strain in any way. I have never had a blood patch. I was told that because I had previous back surgery around the L4-5 that I would be at greater risk for infection if I have the patch.
Hello, my daughter is a 17yr old college student who has woken up every day since Sunday with sharp stabbing pain in left temple. She is a frequent headache sufferer already and takes Gabapentin daily. We were thinking it was due to her period at first, but the headaches seem to be lasting longer than usual. Also she has been feeling wobbly throughout the day. Could these symptoms be stress related? She had a panic attack yesterday before an exam.
I have just been diagnosed with TN. I have had a cat scan and MRI is scheduled. I am on 1200mg/day of Gabapentin. It has helped some but it has not got rid of pain. My pain has a somebperiods where I get a sudden sharp pain in my right ear but I always have a dull, throbbing aching pain in my jaw, cheek, ear, temple. Always with a horrible headache as well. The pain is just unrelenting. I was just wondering how others deal with this?
since than I am on tegretol and gabapentin, both this medicine do control attack, with the help of remmissions i have managed to avoid surgery, as this would lead to my entire face being numb for ever.
The pain has returned just last week, after 2 years remission. I started on tegretol 200mg 3 times a day and neurontin 300mg twice a day. this is controling the pain, but i am having terrible headache, it is so severe that i cannot bear it. of course it is better than neuralgic pain.
