Avatar n tn There's a link but it usually starts with elevated TSH -- at least >5, but usually much higher to be the only cause of a cholesterol this high. Sounds like you have high cholesterol and a separate thyroid problem (hashi).

996342 tn?1249656685 Your problem is called vitreous floaters. In older people the problem is often caused by posterior vitreous detachment PVD You can use the search feature and archives to read about these. Then go to Google IMAGES and type the terms in to see what they look like There is no cure or treatment for them.
Avatar f tn This is an important screening test for thyroid problems for everyone, but for someone whose symptoms fluctuate, I would think it would be crucial. You should also test FREE T4 and FREE T3 when you test your TSH. All the symptoms you describe...EVERY one...are symptoms of under-medication. I hope you can get your health care situation sorted out, it sounds like you need your medication adjusted.
1807132 tn?1318743597 I am fully aware I am not a medical doctor and make comments based on personal experience and web research. I try to be mindful of this and forewarn those I talk with. However, if you see a subject line that peaks your professional interest and I have already posted a comment please feel free to add your expert input. You may have knowledge to add that I just don't have.
1350500 tn?1277518068 If my memory is correct it's a test for tuberculosis. Do you work in a hospital or facility where you are exposed to sick patients? I'm an RN, not an MD. I would refer you to the website Web/Md and read up on it.
Avatar f tn In my own personal opinion, no. I don't think you need a doc's input. You have your answer. My suggestion would be to present the results to your doc with the statement that "I have a gluten issue and am now GF, DF and SF etc, due to antigentic reactions. I'm feeling better and just wanted you to have the information for my file to help you in treating me in the future.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. Thanks to Web MD for the new site. I have taken 2 spirometry tests. One before my sinus/septoplasty surgery, and one after recovery period. I flunked both of them. They repeated the test in case the deviated septum was causing the breathing wasn't. My FEV1 is 73% predicted, with lung age of 78.2 years. I'm 61, type 2 diabetic, degenerative disc disease, degenerative oste-arthirits, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, allergies....
Avatar n tn Are there any web sites that can be visited for a pictorial review of ventricle surgery? Or is there a web site where you can watch shunt surgery performed. This was a question from one of the list members on the Hydrocephalus support group I belong to.
Avatar m tn Unless your depression kept you on the couch with low energy (and without a TSH test, I have NO IDEA how your psychiatrist could possibly know that you have hypothroidism. And don't even get me started on the fact that he/she is tring to treat depression with an thyroid drug...), you could very possibly be doing dangerous things to your heart. I'd see an endo ASAP. BTW, hair loss is generally associated with hypothroidism... for what that's worth.
Avatar n tn Welcome back to the forum. But I am concerned that you remain overly concerned about HIV despite exposure events with little or no risk. The professional consensus on the rapid HIV tests, both on blood and oral fluids, is clear: they give falsely positive results from time to time, but negative result are 100% reliable when done more than 6 weeks (and for sure 3 months) or more after the last exposure. Your test results prove you aren't infected.
Avatar f tn I got my blood test back , And my white blood cells are up 11.2 and my thyroid is over active, is this something that could be very dangerous to my health ????
