Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia symptoms dizziness

fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn There are treatments and even possible cures out there (research protocols). Fatigue, dizziness and so many other symptoms are common in fibro patients and in fact, 29% of fibro patients have a positive ANA titer. I hope that you will consider joining us on MedHelp's fibro/CFS board. I'm the Community Leader there.
Avatar n tn headache; dizziness, drowsiness, tired feeling; swelling in your hands or feet; constipation, upset stomach, bloating; dry mouth; sleep problems (insomnia); hot flashes, sweating; weight changes; or decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm. As you can see sweating is listed as a common side effect. Some side effects will subside as your system become accustomed to a new medication. I can't guess if that may be true with this medication or with your specific reaction.
415098 tn?1214860436 They now know that people with fibromyalgia have pain to the touch in specific spots on their body... this aides in diagnosis. Your doctor can identify if you have problems in enough of these areas to warrant a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, especially since you've already had the CT's, etc. Google the words "Fibromyalgia and tender points" and you should find a few web sites that talk about this in more detail. God Bless!
Avatar f tn This was quite a traumatic event for me, and since then I've had a lot of health issues.
Avatar n tn I have been having chest pain for quite some time now. For the past 2 weeks it comes & goes. It is worse sometimes (it varies from day to day) when I eat, when I exercise, when I get too stressed, when I get hot & when I lie down. It is like a sharp nagging pain in the middle of my rib cage sometimes lasting more than a few minutes. I have always also had problems with shortness of breath & dizziness. I am also tired all the time.
710094 tn?1229312306 You know, the symptoms you're describing sound very similar to neurological symptoms. Have had an MRI to check for anything unusual in your brain? The vomiting, forgetting how to get home, trying to say one thing and something else comes out, are all neurological sounding. It sounds beyond fibro fog to me. I think you should see your doctor RIGHT AWAY and make sure you tell them exactly as you did here.
1033336 tn?1252509731 Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.

Avatar n tn Hi Angela, As a fellow Fibromyalgiac, I have to say that some of what you listed as symptoms just baffled me. I've been living with it for almost 10 years now...and for the record, I can't stand it when someone says "you're fine" but insists on turning you into a walking pharmacy. But while they are not "Fibro" symptoms, it doesn't mean that everything is fine.
Avatar f tn The one common thread with Lyme Disease is the number of systems affected (brain, central nervous system, autonomic nervous system, cardiovascular, digestive, respiratory, musco-skeletal, etc.) and sometimes the hourly/daily/weekly/monthly changing of symptoms. No one will have all symptoms but if many are present serious consideration must be given by any physician to Lyme as the possible culprit. Lyme is endemic in Canada period.
1943833 tn?1349280189 I have wondered often over the last few years if I have Fibromyalgia, but have never asked a doctor about it because I don't seem to have the tender points. I'm wondering how many of these symptoms are "common" for fibromyalgia. Or maybe CFS? -occasional severe sensitivity to noise. I can be sitting in a room, with people around me and noises I would normally not mind (kids playing, etc) will "hurt". I don't really have a headache, and it's not an actual pain.
4861077 tn?1360159739 You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual bleeding or bruising, or have other signs and symptoms of bleeding such as dizziness; lightheadedness; red or black, tarry stools; coughing up or vomiting fresh or dried blood that looks like coffee grounds; severe headache; and weakness. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Avatar f tn well just got back from lawyer apt and it didn't go well. It seemed as if he didn't believe in fibromyalgia even though he didn't say that. Said that all my test came back ok that it didn't appear that i have anything wrong with me besides my one seizure on my eeg. And that even if i did win since i don't have enough credits and i have to file for ssi and my husband works that i probably won't recieve much as far as a monthly benefit.

Avatar n tn It was so very kind of your to go into such detail. It does not appear that I have many of the symptoms for fibromyalgia. I am going to look up some information on costochondritis when I can. I am having a quite a lot of chest tightening at times when I just sit by the computer so when its better, I will look up some info on this. You really went through alot to finally get diagnosed. Must go for now. Again, thank you so much for all the information and take care.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with raynauds a few years ago, I am 17 and keep having constant tired eyes, slight dizziness, wrist pain (feels like veins are in pain, if I keep them in another position other than being straight for a while they begin to hurt. I also get pain in my ankles but the doctor has set me up for physio as she thinks they are weak. I have sprained them both just running around my block and have been told I run normally.

Avatar n tn Lymes disease or Infectious mycoplasmas. Symptoms right up that alley (total symptoms are all over body). Muscle aches? RA symptoms? endometriosis or hysterectomy? Avatar m tn Wide spread body pain is manifested in many conditions like neck pain syndrome, low back pain, local tendonitis, trauma-related pain syndromes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis of the knee or hand, and other painful disorders. These patients have some symptoms that mimic fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn I used to have severe dizziness problem for years until I was given Sporanox to treat an obvious yeast infection (there was very bad fungus in my ears) and ever since the dizziness went away but I have all the other fibro symptoms. Things aren't as bad as they used to be but I'm not completey cured. It is possible to treat fibro, but my rheumatologist says it's a one to five year treatment plan. He used to have fibro himself and learned how to control it.
1364792 tn?1278054787 The symptoms first started out with chest pains and now have increased to random pains and numbness all over my body, headaches, sinus/allergy symptoms, dizziness, and vision problems. My doctor thinks that i might have an anxiety problem but i have never been much of an anxious person so i did some research and fibromyalgia seemed to go along with some of my symptoms.. i was just wondering what other people thought.. is it fibromyalgia, anxiety, or something else? I want opinions! Thanks!
Avatar f tn There is no medical test for Fibromyalgia, however, there are symptoms and certain tender spots on the body that help to make the dx. There is no cure for fibromyalgia. Hope this helps. One thing for sure, keep a medical journal of ALL your symptoms, dates and time. This helps the doctor to make an accurate diagnosis. It also helps you to take a step back and look at the health issues you have.
Avatar n tn Many people are deficient in something, thanks to our modern diet, and deficiencies can cause all sorts of problems. If these feelings don't go away soon, go see a doctor. It could be early symptoms of something bigger, such as fibromyalgia or Lyme.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to MedHelp. As far as I can tell, you do have symptoms that look like fibromyalgia. A rhematologist is the kind of dr. that dxes this. They will check for pressure points. There is also a tilt table test that can help decide if it is fibro or chronic fatigue.
550746 tn?1250130369 Associated symptoms of Fibromyalgia include fatigue ,morning stiffness , sleep disorder , menstrual cramping along with numbness and tingling , dizziness , skin and light sensitivities. If you do not have symptoms other than back pain , it may not be Fibromyalgia . There could be other causes of back pain and headaches that include nerve impingement in the back or stiffness of the neck muscles .
Avatar n tn You describe multiple symptoms, only some of which could represent fibromyalgia. The most severe ones you report could be consistent with the diagnosis, but other things such as the vision changes, temperature intolerance, and palpitations/shortness of breath may need to be further evaluated by your primary care physician.
