Fibromyalgia symptoms dry eyes

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia symptoms dry eyes

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn I was blaming my fibromyalgia for my eyes hurting. I went to eye doctor and he informed me that my "eyes are a mess". He said my eyes were not producing tears and the surface of my eyes have all kinds of micro-abrasions. Has anyone out there had this problem?
Avatar f tn With the dry eyes, they should run the test for sjogrens IMHO (not a doctor) as with one test they can figure it out. Low cortisol usually means a loss of weight, not increase. I had elevated cortisol myself - and while usually they have diabetes and high BP, I did not. So you can vary quite a bit with cortisol issues which can make them complex to diagnose. Adrenal fatigue is not medically accepted.
543791 tn?1216381777 ve been having symptoms. My eye doc also confirmed that autoimmune diseases definitely can affect the eyes and he would probably agree with chronic conditions. The guy is pretty sharp, so I believe him.
Avatar f tn P.S. ~ The dry eyes could be overlapping symptoms of Sjogren's Syndrome. I know these symptoms are also very common in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. (I have dry eyes and dry skin). The dry skin should could also be due to Sjogren's.... but also an underactive thyroid (which I hate to tell you is also common in fibromyalgia patients). I think all of these "autoimmune" diseases and "syndromes" are all the same stuff....
Avatar f tn Of the medications you listed, none of them cause teeth sensitivity nor do they cause dry eyes, however, tramadol and Neurontin can cause dry mouth. In regards to teeth sensitivity, over the years, enamel on the teeth can erode due to acidic items we eat or drink and sensitivity can occur all of a sudden. Refer to the American Dental Association on how this starts and what to do: http://ada.org/public/topics/sensitive.
587021 tn?1302217307 ve gotten different diagnosis for each of these symptoms and for many other symptoms as well. The only one diagnosis that fits all my symptoms however is fibromyalgia. Have you ever had an ANA test done?
237053 tn?1258828426 Hi Karey, I'm not real familiar with Sojergren's, but that could also be a consideration. The symptoms of dry eyes and perhaps muscle weakness could go along with that. Many of your symptoms sound familiar to what I expierenced. I have lupus and fibromyalgia. Most people with lupus also have achy joints (especially the knees), their hair is falling out and thier face looks red (rash like). Are you experiencing any of this?
Avatar f tn My symptoms are multiple(4 or so) ulcers/blisters/sores on the back of my tongue that are painless. These have been there for 2 weeks and have not changed any. Also, I just got another sore on the inside of my right cheek a couple days ago but this sore is painful. I have Fibromyalgia already so its hard to know what symptoms just may be from this and what may be something else....so here goes.
Avatar m tn Even in my mouth around my tongue. I experience dry eyes all day everyday and floater in my left eye. I am currently experiencing small tiny pimples all over my body. I notice them around my eyes, on the plum of my hands, arms, neck. I have short but frequent abdominal pains on both sides of my stomach and both sides of my chest cavity. Is there anyone else who experience all these sysmptoms? I am going crazy... I have been to numerous doctors. They seem to think it is all in my head.
Avatar f tn with me, I had dry eyes when I was hyper on too much meds and my eye were red a lot....
Avatar f tn Anyone have really bad ADD? How about eyesight getting tremendously worse every year and still having very dry eyes. Anyone out there seemed to have never "bounced back" after the peglated interferon/ribaviran treatment? My husband tells me that all the time. I feel like a hypochondriac. I am in constant pain and always tired. Blood was just tested in December, liver enzymes very good @ 24 for ALT and no active hep C.
Avatar f tn If your dry eyes is due to the use of antihistimines it will go away if you stop these medicatios. However for most people, especially menopausal or post menopausal women it is permanent.
Avatar n tn I even changed contacts per my eye dr. for dry eyes and that helped for a while, and now I have dry eyes again, with allergies in eyes, burning and itching pollen I know. But question (big One) does anyone have a cure or anyone have a clue of an idea that has hope them with dry eyes, and it is something that you can use in your eyes with your contacts still in. thanks for any info.
Avatar m tn t say for sure if you have Sjogrens, but I have just been tested for it as well, and have the same symptoms. I also have fibromyalgia. My aunt has Sjogrens and Celiac, and her symptoms are also the same. She uses Restasis, and mouthwash for the dry mouth. I also have to take vitamin D, when my level was found to be virtually 0! I take magnesium & calcium as well, even though those came back normal (I have always taken them, especially since I can't drink milk).
Avatar f tn I went to the opthamologist 2 weeks ago and he told me that my eyes looked fine and there was no sign of optic neuritis. Since I have been dx with EBV, my eyes are dry and the left one, which is the eye that contains the floaters does have some mild pain. Is this a part of the viral process? Since I am having other neurological symptoms, should I get a second opinion about this? I am getting getting concerned about it.
Avatar f tn She has been to so many docs trying to get a diagnosis, to no avail. Some of her symptoms are dry mouth, dry eyes, joint pain, gastrointestinal issues, neuropathy, tingling and pain in hands, feet and legs, blurred vision, gritty eyes, spots in front of eyes, pain in eyes, itching of skin and eyes, joints swelling for no reason, fatigue, hard to form words and swallow sometimes. The list goes on and on.
Avatar n tn In general, I find sitautions like this are often in some way related to either medication side effects, systemic achy conditions like fibromyalgia, or serious dry eye keratopathy. Look into all those possibilities and just to be complete start an aggessive approach to the treatment of dry eye keratopathy since it is so often associated.
Avatar n tn You could just be dehydrated, but my first graves symptom were dry, groopy eyes and tension in my forehead. Do you have any other symptoms? Increased appetite? Feel jumpy? Tired? Weight loss? family history of thyroid disease? You could always go see your doctor- they have simple ways of testing or just a small blood test. Have a loved one watch your eyes as you follow their finger up and down, if you eyelid lags behind the top of your eyeball it's eyelid lag and a sigh of graves disease.
523927 tn?1257018704 I think many people with autoimmune diseases and with syndromes such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome have overlapping symptoms. I know I have dry eyes, a dry mouth and I'm frequently thirsty... although I do not have Sjogren's syndrome. I sometimes have pleurisy like symptoms, but I do not have lupus. It is frustrating to say the least...
Avatar m tn See an Eye MD ophthalmologist as some of your complaints are not due to dry eyes. 4. Also use the search feature and archives to read about dry eyes and an extra copy of the dry \eye article can be found on Dr.
478403 tn?1266546009 I do have Fibromyalgia so I could be having a flare where the pain and fatigue are concerned but the dry eyes is definitely not a part of that. I take Ambien CR at night or I probably wouldn't be getting any sleep. Last night I fell a sleep around 2:30 AM and woke up at 6:30 AM :( I haven't been able to get back to sleep even though I layed there and tried for hours!
Avatar f tn There are overlapping symptoms like dry eyes etc.. between the two conditions. The best site I have found regarding fibro is fibromyalgia-symptoms.org if you would like to learn more about it. I am not a doctor. I have done lots of reading trying to figure out what I have though.
