Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia symptoms dry eyes

Avatar f tn For dry eyes, try warm compresses, stay well hydrated, use a humidifier if dry in your house, avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol and blink often! Too much computer use, texting etc. usually contributes to the issue. Dry eyes is not a typical FMS symptom. Spasms are more common, but not typical either. 587021 tn?1302220907 I am 40 years old. I also have alot of symptoms that I am not sure are just fibromyalgia. I have extremely dry eyes/mouth but tested neg in blood tests for Sjogren's. I also have alot of urethra pain off and on. I have warm prickly numbing sensations in my hands, especially at night and it has been happening for over 5 years now. My newest symptom is a warm sensation in the back of my left thigh that is getting pretty constant.
Avatar f tn it sounds like it may fall into the fibromyalgia category. All of your symptoms are common in fibromyalgia patients. Of course things can always change... you may have more symptoms and then eventually another diagnosis. Also... have you been tested yet for lyme disease ? Are you taking magnesium ? If not... I would highly recommend it for nerve health. I buy my magnesium in the powered form so it absorbs easier.
422425 tn?1307996590 I have had Sjogrens very bad dry eyes mild to moderate dry mouth but normal blood work for 30 years. 50%of the patients r this way. Right now I'm having painful cracks in the corners of my lips.
434278 tn?1324709825 Hi Ruth, I'm not real familiar w/ Sjorgren's. From what I read, it says it is characterized by dry eyes, mouth and arthritis. But I also read that Lupus patients could also have Sjorgren's. But your ANA pattern is not often seen in Lupus and suggest scleroderma. Only 5-10% of people w/ Sjorgren's also have Lupus and 10% of Lupus patients have Sjorgren's. As far as you labs go, I'm not familiar w/ anti-nuclear or Ab titer.

Avatar f tn I have numbness in my legs and feets and hands, I'm tired all the time and I am unable to sleep, i have headaches from my neck hurting, constant dry eyes, it says it can possbile be caused by an injury, about 3 yrs ago I have a subarachnoid hemorrage in the back of my head where they went into my groin and placed a titanum coil. I am hoping I can get some feed back. any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Be sure to ask for a thyroid test. If you have dry mouth and eyes insist on a lip biopsy for Sjogren's Disease. The overlap in symptoms is very confusion. Both Fibromyalgia and Sjogrens cause short term memory loss, severe fatigue (I often feel that may arms and legs are so heavy I cannot move them and that I am going to sink through the earth.) My sleep patterns are totally off. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Also, I have extremely dry eyes, and my jaw pops (TMJ?). I always wake up in the morning feeling stiff. Finally, I don't know if this matters, but I have been on an antibiotic for the last few years (for acne). My question is, based on the blood tests coming back clean? Does that rule out diseases like Lupus and Lyme disease? Is it possible that this is MS or ALS? What should I do next? Please help!!
Avatar n tn some fatigue, most every tener spot, IBS (dx as Chronn's in 2000), dry eyes, weird skin sensations and numbness and tingling in the bottom of my feet. That brings me to now. The numbness and weird tingling is trying to drive me crazy. It came on my left foot, then leg and sometimes right foot. Then it showed up on my left arm and the left side of my face 2 1/2 months ago. My GP ordered and MRI with and without:normal.
Avatar n tn i think you probably have Sjogren's syndrome, mainly because of the dry eyes. I have Sjogren's syndrome and I have many of the symptoms you have. Do not take a doctor's diagnosis as gospel. Half of the doctors out there graduated in the bottom of their class and are not top notch. Sometimes blood markers for this disease are not positive and only show up later in life. So believe in what you feel and do not let doctors tell you that you are nuts or its all in your head.
Avatar f tn I think it's good to try all sorts of treatments, not just the ones from your regular doctor. Also, for dry eyes, I have been have flax oil every day and my eyes have been much better- not having to use eye drops every night now. Not sure if it's the flax oil that's helping but it's worth a try. I mix it in pineapple juice with a bit of lecithin which is supposed to be a good potion.
1348302 tn?1286579303 Signs and symptoms There are many variable symptoms associated with fibromyalgia, but the condition almost always starts with chronic widespread pain and pain upon palpation in particular areas called “tender points.” Most people with fibromyalgia also have some degree of chronic fatigue and interrupted sleep.
Avatar n tn -vision problems (floaters, contacts not staying focused) -fatigue -muscle/joint/bone pain that seems to move all over my body -itching/dry skin -dry mouth/eyes -generalized aching -frequent urination (somewhat) What is bothering my the most is the muscle/bone/joint pain! I am on Cymbalta for anxiety. I am not wanting to go to the doctor because they think I am nuts. I know it is not anxiety though because the meds have really helped.
Avatar n tn (This symptom has actually settled down now and I only get occasional flare ups.) However, my eyes are also very dry - especially when I open them in the morning - I get a slight ripping sensation as if the lids are stuck to my eyeball - which is probably exactly what is happening.
Avatar m tn I seem to be more prone to skin irritations now like eczema and foliculitis and dry patches....has that happened to anyone? 4). Symptoms do seem a bit better, any natural supplements recommended?
Avatar f tn For years I had the same symptoms as you (along with other symptoms). I thought they were from a car accident. My doctor said it was Fibro. I didn't like the answers I was getting so I kept looking. Turns out I have very low cortisol (called Adrenal Insufficiency). I'm still undergoing my diagnosis as well as treatment, so I don't know the whole scope of my issues. While the doctors are still working on the fatigue, etc.., the pain is gone.
Avatar m tn This appeared out of the blue in June 2012 (I say out of the blue because I don't take drugs, don't smoke, don't have diabetes, didn't have chemotherapy, and didn't take medicines for long periods of time -besides 1 week of cyprofloxacin in March 2012). I had a sexual exposure in February 2012 with bizarre symptoms exactly 2 weeks later that lead me to think on HIV (a cervical swollen lymph node, neck stiffness and then an urinary track infection), but I tested negative several times.

Avatar n tn I finally went to the Endo last week because of all the symptoms I am having and thought I was having an issue with my thyroid. Tests came back within the "normal" range. I am a 43 yr old female. I have Fibromyalgia and have for over 10 years, so I'm achy, but to me that's just "normal". I have gained (according to them 50lbs but according to my scale about 35lbs in 9 months). I work out 3-4 days a week. I have a pretty decent diet, not big on junk food.

Avatar n tn Its so wierd I found this forum, I have been having the same exact symptoms, dry cough, for around 2 months now. I've had 2 chest x-rays - 1 which showed possible small pneumonia which scared me to death as I have severe anxiety and I thought for sure it would turn out to be lung cancer. I convinced my doctor to do a chest-CT which showed absolutely nothing other than a few harmless glands.
143746 tn?1301278422 Overall, though, I am wondering can POTS cause all of these symptoms, or does it sound like I have something like Fibromyalgia or IBS/IBD with comorbid POTS? I have had these symptoms since early January 2011 and they are taking a toll on my ability to function. Please help!
1027802 tn?1253125706 I am a midwife and when I started getting symptoms, it affected my ability to mobilise with women in labour and it affected my enthusiasm for the job...I am not a practising midwife at the moment.. Basically 3 years ago I started getting stiff and aching joints/muscles with minimal inflammation in the fingers. I haven't had inflammation since but wake every day with stiff hands/fingers.
Avatar f tn Mouth(sores(painful) and tongue sores(painless),dry eyes that burn, are red, feel dry and irritated and hurt a lot. They feel like something's in them and my eyes are always tired/worn out feeling like they've been overused, but they haven't been. My eyes are also giving me vision problems(blurriness,SEVERE sensitivity to light-both sunlight and fluorescent light, and constant floaters) along with the pain and irritation.Severe muscle and joint pain everywhere on body.
523927 tn?1257022304 I think many people with autoimmune diseases and with syndromes such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome have overlapping symptoms. I know I have dry eyes, a dry mouth and I'm frequently thirsty... although I do not have Sjogren's syndrome. I sometimes have pleurisy like symptoms, but I do not have lupus. It is frustrating to say the least... but the treatment protocol I'm on is treating all of these illnesses and sums our illness up as a "Th1 inflammatory illness".
Avatar f tn My symptoms include dry mucous membranes, have reoccuring conjunctivitis, chronic constipation with bloating and stomach pain, dry itching skin (no significant rashes) asthma, A-FIB with palpatiations and treated A-Flutter (cardiac ablation), bilateral shoulder pain with Rt rotator cuff surgery this past year (decompression and small tear in rotator cuff, inflamed tissue all around the joint), physical therapy after the surgery made the inflamation much worse and I made more progress with rang
