1544019 tn?1318504526 If I did stay on enbrel during the pregnancy , is it possible to still inject in the stomach and did your Rheumy , OB say it is ok. Ive been looking for this info. I get very bad inchy and sore welts frm the shot too (I use the auto injector) and only lots of bendryl helps reduce it and it takes days. Im not sure how I'll manage with these SE if I got pregnant. My dr is away and havent seen them yet.
5625068 tn?1371156181 s a bit scary to learn to inject yourself. However a nurse will sit down with you and walk you through it the first time, and give you all the time you need. I bet that within a week or two the jitters will be gone.
Avatar f tn Hi, recently my mother was switched to enbrel, now she can get the medication at home. I will be injecting the medication weekly. I read on the instructions that you are supposed to aspirate and then supply the medication, this is to ensure that a vein or artery has not been hit. We are going to be using pre-filled syringes. Now, I am a bit worried because what if when aspirating I get blood in the syringe? Do I have to discard the medicine?
422104 tn?1209763904 It lasted about a day and a half. The nurse said to ice it which of course I didnt! I am going to inject into my stomach Sunday instead of my legs. Not sure if this had anyting to do with it but the first 2 times I did it there was no blood and this last time it bled a lot so maybe I hit a vein and that's why it got so swollen and red. I will tell you however that last night and all day today I had a very bad flare up. You've been on it for 3 years right?
Avatar f tn Holy cow that’s insane! Why don’t you ask your doctor to go where the illegal aliens get their free medication? Before they get theirs, we need ours!
1037767 tn?1262606784 Im still unsure though whether or not I could actually inject myself. Anyway I am going to bring it up with her and see what she thinks. I just wish that I had gotton a little bit more relief from the MTX, maybe even a higher dose may help.
Avatar f tn I have been told to get off Enbrel for needed gallbladder surgery. My problem is that when I get off Enbrel, every joint in my body swells, turns red, hurts unbearably and locks up. I become completely bedridden and cannot get dressed or go to the bathroom without help. My blood tests show that, even with the Enbrel, my c reactives and other immune response numbers are very high. They tell me that they will give me prednisone to help with the reaction.
Avatar n tn Enbrel must be refrigerated at 2° to 8°C (36° to 46°F). Also, therapy with enbrel makes you most susceptible to infections, so take adequate precautions. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn enbrel.com. I'm thinking of you and will be looking for your updates. Best wishes......
Avatar n tn I've been on enbrel since 2003. I didn't develop or notice an infection until about a year ago. I am not saying enbrel caused it, but I've either had since college and slowly enbrel suppressed my immune system and the infection popped up again or I developed a recent infection. Eitherway, I have an infection now that I've tried to treat with aldara but has made my psoriasis worse and thus spread the infection making the infection worse, ie more warts.
Avatar n tn I'M A MALE 59 YEARS OLD BUT WITH A VERY ACTIVE LIFE STYLE. I;VE HAD RA FOR 25 YEARS, STARTING TAKING METHOTREXATE ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO WITH PREDIZONE FROM TIME TO TIME. AROUND THREE YEARS AGO I WAS HAVING FLARE UPS AND MY DOCTOR ALSO ME ON ENBREL, WORKED VERY GOOD FOR THE RA BUT MY NOW MY THROAT IS ALWAYS SORE AND CONGESTED WITH PHELM. THIS YEAR I'VE SEEM NUMEROUS DOCTORS ENT, GENERAL ALERGIST AND EVEN HAD SINUS SURGERY FOR 30 GRAND, NOTHING FIXED THE THROAT PROBLEMS.
422104 tn?1209763904 Doctor, I would like information related to Enbrel and MS. I used Enbrel for less than one year. I now have demylination of the cervical spinal cord, both optic nerves, plaques in my brain, numbness in leg and balance problems. I am now fifty eight. Symtoms started at age fifty six with numbness in leg and balance problems. I have been told it looks "MSish." Questions: now that the new symptom of, the optic nerves being demlinated, is it MS?
Avatar n tn Shall I just wait this period and suffer through the pain to avoid taking the Enbrel? Although I really need to get back to normal soon because I have studies and work. 3. Will it get worse, better, or stay as it is while I'm waiting for the symptoms to go away? 4. Will I get such symptoms again in the future, if I'm on or off medications? How bad will it be? Is the antigen I have a factor in having Reiter's chronically?
1544019 tn?1318504526 When we started doing IVF treatments to get pregnant, I went off of the Enbrel. For the first two trimesters, my RA seemed to go into remission and I didn't need any treatments - which was a MIRACLE! Now I'm starting my third trimester (I'm 27 weeks) and I am starting to have ALL SORTS of complications with my joints. Pain, swelling, can barely move.
Avatar n tn Once you start to get your life back with Enbrel, I highly encourage you to seek out physical fitness to help keep it that way. You need to take advantage of the good days/weeks to get your muscles and joints in shape for the next time your disease takes you down a notch. Don't get complacent and take a direct roll in your healing. Oh yea...start eating as well as you can afford as well!
Avatar f tn I have had moderate to severe RA for 5 years. Take Enbrel once a week and am supposed to take 5mg. injectible of methotrexate weekly. I had gone without the methotrexate for at least six months and have not noticed any difference at all. I am scared to death of the methotrexate. Can anyone explain why my doctor wants me to continue it if it does not seem to make a difference? I do great on the Enbrel by itself, but am sure there are reasons, I just don't understand!
Avatar m tn My dad has been taking Enbrel for several yrs for psoriatic arthritis. I realize this is not the same condition as yours, but it has helped him tremendously!
Avatar n tn When you stop a medication, you need to shore up your body with something to take it's place. MSM, swimming, Essiac, and anti-inflammatories. Boswellia and Echinacea are natural anti-inflammatories. Wishing you the best outcome...

4896357 tn?1360670904 I practiced site rotation as much as I could. I don't have much belly or thigh fat but I could usually find a way to stretch enough skin out to inject. Especially since half way through treatment I was injecting the Peg once a week, Procrti twice a week and for a short time, the Neupogen. Here is this from Pegasys: http://www.medhelp.org/user_photos/show/311354?

Avatar n tn I've been on Enbrel for almost 9 years. I've recently been developing tremors in my hands, cheeks (when I smile), and tongue. Talked to my rheumy. He doesn't think it's the Enbrel, but I am growing more concerned. They're not bad, but they do seem to be progressing.
Avatar f tn Hi - has anyone who has ever been on Enbrel noticed a rust-colored staining on the hands? I'm not sure if it is directly related to enbrel, but I thought I would ask. My daughter was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis several months ago, and has tried Remicade unsuccessfully. Now, she has had 2 injections of Enbrel, and just today has noticed the staining on her hands. I don't know what to think, so I'd appreciate hearing from any of you.
Avatar f tn I am going to begin taking Enbrel as nothing else has worked to control the pain and stiffness. I truly hope your wife recovers soon. Do you know what her sed rate is?
Avatar m tn I just wanted t say for me I needed a supplemental DMARD to take with Enbrel. I ended up doing 1000 mg Sulfasalazine and that has made all the difference in the world. I've been flare free for going on four years now.
Avatar m tn I imagine that yours is moderate to severe since your doctor is prescribing enbrel. You need to talk to your doctors to get your answer to the questions. No one here knows your medical history. And yes, both meds can work for their respective diseases however interferon and enbrel work differently on the immune system and I don't know if they can even be taken together.
