So if you had an elisa Hiv test,it would be looking for antibodies produced by the immune system for Hiv,same would apply to RA,the elisa would be searching for those antibodies that would be produced if someone had RA.From reading It was established that each Elisa is specific to what antibodies it is looking for,just the name Elisa is the same,that's all.
Can HIV ANTIBODY TEST(ELISA<HIV ! & ANTIBODY) test after 6 months fi fully conclusive????? I hb done ELISA test aftr 6 mnths of exposure???? Can I be 100% confident tat I m HIV negetive as the test came back non reactive with ANTIBODY 0.020 OD........will I have to test aftr ! yr?
if your test is third generation ELISA OR EIA which detects all hiv subtypes,then it is conclusive at or after 12 weeks. third generation elisa test not ony detects Ig G but also IgM which is the first antibody produced in response to antigen(hiv virus). after 6 weeks of infection more than 99% will test positive and at or after 12 weeks a third generation test would definintely exclude infection.

Despite the negative test i was still not satisfied, hence at a time nearing 3 months or 11 weeks i had another hiv test which came back negative.
I will advice you to do' Fourth Generation ELISA testing for HIV1/2' on 6 week after the exposure.
Fourth generation ELISA for HIV1/HIV2
1) 4th generation ELISA is a DUO TEST (Antibody and Antigen Sandwich Test) .It actually looks for the P24 (protein) Antigen and Antibodies simultaneously.
2) P24 Antigen is almost always present in the body after acquiring the virus till the 4th week after infection and then it disappears .

Hello, I performed unprotected oral sex on a woman of unknown status in July. I began to experience symptoms about 3 to 4 weeks after. I had a mild headache for quite some time, white coated tongue with bad taste, tingling in arms and lowere legs - later turning to burning and pain in hands and feet, feeling of tiredness, but not wiped out, come and go pains in abdomon and legs, as well as others. Elisa negative at 37 days. PCR DNA negative at 40 days.
The doctor told me that my ELISA test was positive and so they sent my blood sample for an Antigen Western Blot test which came back negative. The doctor told me that 99,999% the Elisa test was false because of other factors that might affect the blood but he asked me to retest in one week.
Is it possible that I have contacted Hiv?

Tested for HIV ELISA at 65, 78 and 99 days and also HIV Combo at 99 days all becoming negative. Around 70th day had Ulcer in my penis tip and pain in abdomen and balls which started all my problems, After course of Antibiotics(norflox & Pyridine ) things became normal. At 78th day I tested for VDRL which came as non reactive. But Another ulcer came in my another side of Penis tip and there was constant irritation in my penis head which made my world dark.
is any other illness or sickness or infection can prevent my body to deliver detectable HIV antibodies, so the ELISA test came negative, my ELISA test for HELICOBACTER come out very high, the doctor said it is due to very longtime infection by HELICOBACTER, is HIV/ELISA test related to HELICOBACTER/ELISA test?

I had protected sex, no oral play with a massage parlor worker 4 months back. This week my elisa test came back reactive while western blot test indicated negative result for hiv. I assume this is a false positive result for elisa. I also did 2 oraquick tests which were negative.

A negative Western blot test means the ELISA test was a false positive test. The Western blot test can also be unclear, in which case more testing is done.
Negative tests do not rule out HIV infection. There is a period of time (called the "window period") between HIV infection and the appearance of anti-HIV antibodies that can be measured. This period is 3 months from exposure. However, negative WB at 45 days is certainly very encouraging.
what type of test is a hiv 1 and hiv 2 antibody test? recently i had a test which is hiv1 and hiv2 antibody test , i went to the diagnostics centre at 10:30 am in the morning and my report got ready by 2:30 PM in the afternoon so the entire testing process took not more than 3-4 hrs so now my question is what type of test is it? is it a rapid antibody test or a conventional antibody test?
