I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia two weeks ago. I was given Z Pack. I took it. It seemed to work for a couple of days then the symptoms returned. Doctor gave me another Z Pack. Same thing. It worked for a couple of days and then the mychoplasma returned.
Question 1: Why did Z pack not get rid of it?
Question 2: I'm on Doxycycline now. Will that get rid of it?
I'm terrified to even get out of bed for fear that I will relapse again. I want my life back. Please help.
that was a years ago, sometimes when i get a sinus infections, the Augmenten would not work, So the Doxycycline worked. Z-PAK works great for my too and you take that 5 days, but it keeps working for 5 days that.
Does you doctor know about the numbness, that could be VERY DANGEROUS, if you did mention it to the doc.
I see a lot of people asking about z pack curing chlamydia/gonorrhea and the common response is “It has to be 1g at once to work.” I’m confused by this. 1 g is 1,500mg. The typical z pack is 1,500mg total over the course of 5 days. 500mg on day one and then 250mg the next four days. So my question is, why would it HAVE to be 1,000mg of z pack at once to work rather than also 1,500 over 5 days?
I have had walking pneumonia for 3 weeks. I took two Z packs and I'm 5 days into my Doxycycline and I still feel bad. I have no energy and my throat still hurts. I can't take Avelox or anything in that family because I am allergic to them. How long does it normally take to start feeling better on Doxy? Maybe I just haven't been taking it long enough? When do you think I'll start to feel normal again?
0 gram dose of azithromycin or doxycycline, 100 mg orally, twice daily for 7 days. The Z-pack is the right drug but may not be the right dose. My advice would be to go get checked for gonorrhea and NGU. After that, therapy with doxycycline, given your modest response to azithromycin might be the way to go.

The clinic told me that would have done the trick and the dosage for doxy I had was not enough....z-pac play any role dose of z-pac lower than usual 1g
4. sex after finishing antibiotic was safe as long as I finished the doxy? together with non-reactive VDRL/RPR at 41 days mean I took care of incubating syphilis IF I was exposed and never got the infection? You ahd said above I would still show some level even with treatment.
5. should I get another VDRL/RPR test now five months out.
I have been taking Doxycycline for 8 days now and still have burning when I urinate. I have been on 100 mg twice a day. I have not had any sex while on this medicine. I have several Z-Pac's (NEW) How many 250 mg pills should I take that will cure this. I know that I dont have a urinary tract infection. Please help me! I will not go to a clinic. Where I live is very remote and the nurses have been know to talk, I have heard them.
Yes sounds like allodynia. There are somatosensory rehabilitation specialists in Switzerland and Canada and I'm going to visit one next week because after 5 years I have finally realized what was wrong...because there is no test here in the us to diagnose.

hi since may of this year, i have been on the following, keflex twice(70 pills total), cipro twice (40 pills total), azthromycin twice (8 pills total), doxycycline (40 pills total), bactrim(30 pills) and 3 rocephin shots). would that be why for the past few months i have had yeast/fungal issues, they come and go in my groin and under stomach and arm area, and little yeast bumps on body?
she prescribed metrogel and doxycycline I tried the metro gel was taken off.tried doxy and had to go to the e.r. had sever adverse side affects I thought I was going to die.Then the specialist said they where not going to treat me.That I should be fine.WHAT!!!I went to a different gyno obgyn and he isn't treating me for urea pkasma either told me to take pro biotics.

I planned on getting STD tested in a few weeks but just completed a ZPACK (azithromycin) for a sinus infection and my dermatologist has put me on 100 mg doryx (doxycycline) for acne. Other then the HIV test should I go ahead and get tested for gono, syph, chla? The reason I ask is that from what I am reading on this forum, often times those antibiotics would clear up those infections.

I went to see a doctor and he gave me a single dose of Z-pack and 2 weeks worth of doxycycline. I then took blood and urine tests 10 days after the day i had oral sex. I am still waiting for the results. After 4 days of doxycycline, i noticed having diarrhea often and my urine was getting a little bit cloudy.
But Tuesday, she contacted me the results and said it was gonorrhea. She put me on Doxycycline Hyclate 100 Mg Tablet 2xs a day. By Thursday I was feeling nauseous and after a hour of taking the pill i threw It up.
Contacted her again and was given a shot the next day, Ceftriaxone 250 Mg Solution For Injection. I havent Had discharge since I took the z pack 10 days ago. Should i wait To engage in sex or am I in the clear?
1 nonreactive. The nurse was saying that was odd. I had two rounds of Pen G injections for two weeks. Abstained from sex...same partner, he was tested and came back negative of all stds. I decided to get tested again in March because I saw a little bump show up on my hand. Went back in and that test said 1:8 went back to be treated this time with Doxycycline 100mg because I travel for work and couldn't keep up with the 1/week penicillin injections.
The Pathologist says his test uses animal based antibodies which are more sensitive than the standard tests, and he believes Chlamydia can be antibiotic resistant for many years, which is why he recommends a more intensive injection of a mixture of antibiotics directly into the prostate over ten treatments. I though may be its due to that sickness but after i recoverd i checked with doc where he did all std together test and found ureaplasma pervum...he gave doxycycline antibiotic for 15 days but now i still feel pain in penis..
1.this issue is dangrous for pregnancy of my wife

I have been to two optometrist and both prescribed me Z-pack because they believed it to be Chlamydia related. making a really really ....really long story short i have not taken either prescribed Z- pack antibiotics. I have been taking the precribed antibiotics my Primary Doc has given me but it wasnt Z- pack...this is such a long story and there is so much i want to tell and ask you but in short.
Does Chlamydia affect or infect the eye causing redeness?

"Adults: 200 mg bid [meaning twice a day] with food; doses of up to 600 mg daily are often needed, as doxycycline is only effective at high blood levels." So perhaps your doc's doses are on the light side -- I'd ask him, but sometimes docs get huffy. I'd ask him anyway. It's your health we're talking about.
5 years ago I found out that I had contracted Gonorrhea and Chlamydia from an ex (I was pregnant when diagnosed). I was given some sort of z pack and retested and was told I was cured. I still had yellowish discharge (I've had it for as long as I can remember). So I became obsessed with finding out why. I can't afford a doctors visit, and I have had sex with only 2 partners.
