Afterwards, I immediately became paranoid about the STD risk. I dug through my medicine cabinet and found doxycycline that I had leftover from a skin problem. They were 100mg pills and I had 15 of them left. The evening of Sep 30, I began taking these pills and took 2 per day until I finished them (on 10/8). I later examined the bottle and realized I misread the dates & didn't realize how old these were. The pills were from July 2007 and expired in July 2008.
There is no reason to take any antibiotics for this exposure. If you did, cephalexin would be the wrong one. Doxycycline or azithromycin would be preferable.

Am a male and received brief (< 1 min) unprotected oral from a female trade-worker 4 days ago. There was no visible signs to suspect any issues. Have read through much of the forum and understand the very low to no risks associated with majority of STD's transmitted orally and there is nothing to be done about any of the viral based STD's.
Overuse of antibiotics is surely to be avoided, but when there is an illness that requires such a dosing approach, then to my understanding and imo, the risks of not treating fully are far greater than whatever risks there are from the antibiotics for that period of time. What the medical profession is trying to avoid is using abx when they are *not* called for. With Lyme and its co-infections however, extended treatment is appropriate and often necessary.
Here's the situation
Dec. 21st had unprotected oral sex with unknown female for couple minutes. Unable to *** therefore I ejaculated pretty hard. About 5 days later had fully protected vaginal sex. A couple days later I started experiencing constant burning in my urethra no discharge. A week later I went to anylabtesting center where I got tested for chlamydia and gonarrhea. All test came back negative. They use the NAAT testing for both.
I was taking cipro for an unrelated issue and continued to take it for 7 days. He had been taking doxycycline for acne for 22 days prior to and during the exposure. Would that lower the risk for me? I have no symptoms.

where did the pills come from?
I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?

10 days worth of Doxycycline. Still worried, I decided to go to see a Demathologist yesterday regarding any STD risk. The specialist concluded that I have inflammation at the tip of my penis and he said could be UTI, but wouldn't rule out STD. So he gave me 7 days worth of Doxycycline and 7 days worth of Augmentin. Both docs say that the dark red spots are not indicative of STD.

This event is a NO RISK event for HIV. Antibiotics do not affect test results, in any case.
I would like to go get tested today, but I happen to be on day 3 of a Doxycycline prescription for a sinus infection. I am worried any Chlamydia/Gonorrhea test will show negative due to the antibiotics.
What are my risks of actually contracting an STD from the encounter? And since I have no other symptoms but the occasional aching testicles/groin, is it more likely that this is not STD-related?
