Hi Doctor,
I'm 23 and live in Australia. I had on Sunday May 3rd. This morning, 4 days post exposure I woke up with this constant need to urinate. I would go to the toilet have relief for about 10 minutes and then the feeling would come back. As yet I haven't had any discharge or any pain that I could distinguish from the need to urinate. I went to the GP who took a first stream and middle stream urine sample to send off to the lab.
He prescribed me with a 10 day Doxycycline. A few days in my testicular region was very sore, but as I got done with the full 10 days and felt normal. I went back for a re-test on the last day of the doxycycline, but still came back positive for chlamydia. So currently I’m taking a 14 day prescription for Levofloxacin. I’m on my 6th day. Still no symptoms. No pain after urination, no discharge, and no testicular pain.
My questions are:

I receivied oral sex from a male, who I did not know, I went to the doctors 2 weeks later for the same symptoms of burning in the penis and he gave me a shot of antibiotics and 10 day percription of doxycycline, after day 4 or so it the pain went away, and I did quit taking the doxy I know I wasn't supposed to, when at the doctors I had a std check or gonnorrha and clymydada all negative, now about 8 weeks later the pain has come back
PRIOR TO TAKING THIS DOXYCYCLINE I DIDN'T HAVE TINNITUS. AFTER TAKING DOXYCYCLINE I HAVE TINNITUS. ANY QUESTIONS!!! I TOOK DOXYCYCLINE FOR A SINUS INFECTION. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!
1) Would 5 days of doxycycline and on day 6 the 1.5 g zithromax cure chlamydia if present?
2) I used zithromax back in july for an ear infections. Would this build up resistance against chlamydia due to overuse of zithromax?
I tested pos for chlamydia (neg for gonorrhea) in june and was prescribed azithromycin. When the symptoms failed to improve, he had me take doxycycline for a week. The symptoms decreased somewhat, but they still remained in a mild form. I went to see a physician's assistant at a urology clinic who tested me again, and gave me a shot of antibiotics for gonorrhea. I tested neg for chlamydia and gonorrhea.
I was given a shot of Ceftriaxone and a course of Doxycycline 100mg twice daily for 10 days. The symptoms I had were a burning sensation whilst urinating and a constant white/yellow discharge. The doctor I saw at the sexual health clinic has worried me somewhat since she said that the condition is becoming harder to treat due to resistant strains of the infection.
He prescribed Doxycycline 2 times a day for two weeks. I am still in the process of finishing that medicine.
So my questions are thus:
1. Can ureaplasma urealyticum cause rashes? What would cause such a rash?
2. I am also worried about herpes. In my panic (of course) of being diagnosed with an STD, I started paying attention, especially since the rash had moved up towards my anus and I had started feeling uncomfortable.
Now, we counted from the time she got her period (the effect of the ECP to the time where she should have a regular period) and the result was she is getting delayed, she is already on her 3rd day being delayed prior to that she is experiencing nausea for the past 2 days, however she also mentioned that she was taking doxycycline for her acne and i have read that it can cause some side effects including nausea.
Please, somebody helps. I'm really worried. I'm taking the Doxycycline a week now and I notice a white patch on tongue and a red rash-like spot on neck and face. Does it mean, that Doxycycline isn't effective on me? Please help...
About two weeks after this exposure, I was prescribed with a short course of doxycycline due to a facial skin infection, I have also learnt that this can treat some STD’s (unaware at the time of prescription). It’s been 8 weeks since I finished my doxycycline course and I have had sex with my girlfriend on multiple occasions during this period. Do to guilt and worry, I decided to get tested yesterday (thankfully all negative).

I was recently diagnosed with NGU and was prescribed doxycycline 100mg bid for 7 days. My physician said to abstain from sex until all the medication was gone. That is exactly what I did. I ended up having sex 4 to 5 hours after I took my last dose of doxycycline on day 7. Did I put my partner at risk by having sex so soon after treatment? Also, I took 13 out of the 14 pills. (I choked one of the pills back up and spit it out). Would that have an impact on the meds efficacy?
They too said that he had Prostatitis and that a long term antibiotic is needed to get rid of it and was put on Doxycycline for 6 weeks. We are starting week 5 of the antibiotic and the symptoms are still coming and going. Not so much the urgency and frequency, but still the burning sometimes, groin pain and pain at the tip of the penis on a regular basis. It's crazy because he can have a few good days where he has no symptoms at all and then have a rough couple of days with symptoms.
Really an impossible question to answer. Of the few people who answer questions we see about 20-30 daily and to tough to keep track of something like that.
I can say that I don't think I have seen anyone test positive at 14 days because I would never recommend testing that soon.
--- After Test 2, the local doctor acknowledge I have Syphilis NOT UTI and prescribed doxycycline for 2 weeks 2x a day (100mg each). I took doxycycline for 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks.
It worked for about a week and then the burning came back. The doctor then gave me doxycycline( 10 days 2 pills easch day) and said that this should work. It works a little but he said it might take a week and its been six days. I have a couple of questions.
1. I've been doing alot of heavy drinking the past couple of days, would that affect the effects of doxycycline?
2. Would it make my penis kinda sore too? The diflucan did and then the burning went away.

We had protected sex (oral and vaginal) but I still have questions regarding HIV. I am afraid I may have not notices tears, etc. in the condom, but to the best of my knowledge there weren't any.
I have been taking doxycycline hyclate for several weeks, would symptoms (e.g. sore tendons in the back of mu legs, momentary soreness in muscles, white filliform papilae) show up sooner (i.e. within 3-5 days) than the normal period?

s was earlier today and was just to see if the antibiotics (1g of azithromycin) taken 14 days had cleared the nsu up . To my surprise it had not and got another load of antibiotics to take Doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 7 days.
Is it unsual for nsu to be so stubborn, and if I passed all the other Sti check ups what would be causing it, is it something to worry about ?
How affective is doxycycline 100mg when taken for a period of seven days to cure infections and std's present in the body alone with a shot a penicillin.
where did the pills come from?
I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?
I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.
