My German Shepherd has lepto. Her creatinine is currently above 800 so she's in stage 4 kidney failure. She is at the vets on IV and antibiotics. Tomorrow we will do another blood test. I'm just curious as to her chances. When they increased her flow today her kidneys couldn't handle it and was starting to get "crackles" when she listened to her heart and breathing.
What are her chances ??
f/u injection next day; marked improvement in kidneys; bladder less so; sent home on Doxycycline for 14 days; not much improvement
10/1/12 - UA =K. pneumoniae >100,000CFU/mL
10/3/12 - DO prescribed Cefuroxime, 500mg/BID
10/8/12 - feeling worse; achy, constant 99.5-8 temp; call Dr. who wants to do another U/A-culture?!?
I say call in the infectious disease specialist!! Who is right?

I started to experience the symptoms very irritable and swollen on the right testicle, I went to the doctors explained above ref Chlamydia and they gave me a 9 day course of doxycycline as they suspected epididymitis. Which did work initially, then the symptoms came back once the course was finished, the doctor then put me on a 4 weeks course. But I had alot of pain and swelling in the right epididymi.
THE GIRL I HAD UNPROTECTED SEX TESTED NEGATIVE FOR STDs. I WAS GIVEN DOXYCYCLINE BECAUSE OF MY SYMPTOMS BEFORE THE RESULTS TO MY SCREENING CAME BACK. AFTER TAKING THE MEDICINE FOR A WEEK I HAD NO OTHER SYMPTOMS. THE TEST RESULTS THEN CAME BACK NEGATIVE BUT ONE MORNING I NOTICED THE DISHCHARGE AGAIN RIGHT BEFORE I WOULD URINATE & THE TINGLING SENSATION. ALL OTHER TIMES DURING THE DAY WHEN I URINATED I FELT NO TINGLING OR ANY DISCHARGE. IM CONFUSED NOW, WHAT COULD THIS BE??
How affective is doxycycline 100mg when taken for a period of seven days to cure infections and std's present in the body alone with a shot a penicillin.
where did the pills come from?
I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?

So I know what the pain feels like, and with my first pregnancy I got one bad kidney infection that I actually thought was me going into labor, until I got to the hospital and found out it was my kidneys. This pregnancy my kidney seems to always feel swollen. Especially once I start feeling like I have to pee. I can hardly get comfortable laying down because of it. I've never had kidney stones and would hope to not ever get them.

The common symptoms are pain in the back, haematuria, excessive amount of calcium in the urine. The complications are kidney stones, infection and kidney failure. Treatment is usually symptomatic. Im being admited to the hospital cause one of my sons kidneys are larger than the other and he has fluid in his tummy, im only 34weeks and they may or may not keep him inside me. Has anyone had this problem? How can this happen to him? Im so sad about this:( my poor baby something can happen to him they said.
I had my first doctor appt today since my mc in august AND since finding out I'm pregnant again...I have been having unbearable back pain and so I mentioned it to my doctor and he said it doesn't sound muscular because heat, massage and stretching isn't helping, he said it could be something wrong with my kidneys, he got a urine test & blood work ordered which I will find out next week the results...has anyone experienced anything like this?
I'm 34 weeks and my kidneys are just killing me. I went to the bath room this morning and I had to pee so bad but it was like I was blocked off. I had a uti already with this pregnancy and I don't think that's what it is. The doc confirmed that I had got rid of it. Does anyone possibly know why my kidneys could be hurting so bad.
