So my question is, under the circumstances, would it be highly inadvisable to treat myself with antibiotics bought from a chemist. one plus of being in china is unlike the west, medication like doxycycline, erythromycin etc are all available to me over the counter
So would it be ok to take a course of doxycycline (which I've read is the most widely used for STD's) and see if my symptoms improve?
Two weeks later, when I was back in China the infection came back. I went to a Chinese hospital (apparently a big mistake), and there were high levels of white blood cells in my urine (16-20), and after some tests they found that my epididymus and prostate were inflamed, as well as having the original uti. I did not have any pain in my testicles or fever or anything though.
He prescribed Doxycycline 2 times a day for two weeks. I am still in the process of finishing that medicine.
So my questions are thus:
1. Can ureaplasma urealyticum cause rashes? What would cause such a rash?
2. I am also worried about herpes. In my panic (of course) of being diagnosed with an STD, I started paying attention, especially since the rash had moved up towards my anus and I had started feeling uncomfortable.

since i was treated with a shot of rocephelin and a weeks worth of doxycycline it felt better then i started having a bad reaction to the doxycycline. I went to the ER and was taken off doxycycline and given another shot of rocephelin and 4 zithromax's to take at once. Is pelvic infection an std? Taking antibiotics would certainly mess with your test results. So, you should complete your doxycycline regimen first then test in a week or two.

My dh tested for ivf 2 days ago and the same problem: high white blood cell count. He actually is sick though. My doc prescribed him and myself antibiotics to bring that down, doxycycline (sp?) and I am proceeding with ivf. We have to take it for 2 weeks.
Secondly they claim that Chinese products is Chinese FDA approved but in reality it is not above all no one in Medical Fraternity believes these authorities for the obvious reasons. Now here in India these companies claim that the product is CE approved meaning European Certified. Now no one asks them if the product is CE approved where it states that it is fit for human use.
I was diagnosed with epididymitis after a surgical procedure in early August. I was prescribed doxycycline and cipro and it seemed as if the swelling was going down and the pain was easing.
