ve been taking doxycycline for acne on my back for a few weeks (50 mg twice daily). The doxycycline was prescribed for inflamed pimples on my back, which would be sore and red. Each individual pimple would go away on its own but I would generally have a couple new ones every week.
I had been having acid reflux before I started taking the doxycycline, and it seems to be worse now. Yesterday, I rolled over on my stomach while in bed and my esophagus was burned by acid.
I was on Doxy 100mg for about a month for antimalarial reasons, saw a slight improvement in my skin, and was then prescribed Doxy 50mg for acne indefinitely. I’ve been on this for about 3 weeks.
I have definitely noticed fewer pimples, but I still have the odd one here and there. I’ve also been using 10% Benzoyl Peroxide gel which I think has worked wonders.
I would like to go off Doxy 50mg to see if it is the Doxy or the Benzoyl which has helped my skin.
1 accorfing to my symptem, is that probably I got ( HSV1 2 or HPV warts, gonorrhea, chlamydia )orally?
2 If i was infected with any genital std, does it hurt my throat and respiratory tract area like the symptom i said?
3 If i get any std like (gonorrhea, chlamydia, hsv2) orally, will I have it in genital area too? does the symptom also appear on genital area?
4 I am having doxycycline, will the affect the result if I go for std test now? If yes, when is the good time for me to get std test?
You should follow the treatment of oral antibiotics like doxycycline but for the topical steroids you should consult your dermatologist and taper of the drug.

See your doctor, and get on a prescription for an antibiotic, tetracycline, doxycycline or the like are often used for skin issues like this. It takes a little while on the antibiotic, but after a while (if you take your antibiotic regularly) it will heal and then you can just use a Retin A ointment on your skin and it will prevent more of those from happening.
Rashes tend to disappear within minutes or hours, pimples tend to persist for a few weeks and then change into brown spots that slowly fade away.
December:
- A small red rash and a few tiny, fluid filled pimples on penis, disappeared in 1-2 weeks
- Extreme headache, dizziness and neck pain that lasted 2 weeks. Continue to have headaches and dizziness since then.

About five days after exposure I went to doctor and as a precaution he put me on doxycycline for 7 days. Would this abort incubating syphilis? I had an RPR test at two week and I know it's not conclusive. I don't know if this is relevant but I keep getting painful scabs/pimples on my scalp.
Thank you for your response. I have been to the doctor twice and have been diagnosed with impatigo. I was first prescribed Mupirocin ointment but had to go back because the blisters were still forming and spreading to my hands and arms. The second time I was put on doxycycline. I'm only on day 2 of the doxycycline but hopefully it works.
After 40 yrs of marriage we separated, and I had oral sex and foreplay, no intercourse with 1 woman that I met. In addition, as an uncircumcised man you have a slightly increased risk for fungal infection sunder the foreskin and the doxycycline also increases the risk for fungal infection. If the rash progresses, drug rash or fungus infections are good possibilities.
Ive been on doxycycline for 3 1/2 days, and the discharge has not gone away at all.. may have even worsened. My vagina hurts excruciatingly every time I pee. How long till the pain and discharge goes away?
Hi, sounds a lot like what I have now. I’ve had it for a year. It was very mild in the beginning and now my flare ups are more constant. I have been 2 the derm 2x...she gave me clindamycin gel, Sulfacleanse and contact dermatitis cream. I also am currently on doxycycline to see if that helps but nothing is helping....it’s gotten worse. It’s mainly on my jawline also and the bumps never really disappear just descrease in red was and size.
Hey! I'm having the same issues on my thighs. I've been changing my diet to see if that's it, but up to this point, I don't see a big difference. It does get better during periods where I have eaten little to nothing. I'm in great shape and pretty clean as well. My dermatologist gave me a prescription for Doxycycline. I haven't started yet because I've been trying to see if I can get rid of it without medication. Any info would be great. Thanks!
The vet prescribed doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 3 weeks. My dog seems fine without any obvious symptoms. Can we just give him the doxycycline 100mg once a day instead because the medication may cause nausea/vomiting. Also after 3 weeks medication, how do you he is treated ? Any advice !
Just wondering if doxycycline worked for you. I am on doxy 100mg twice a day for 14 days. Still haven’t seen and marked improvement in my rash.
After a course of a higher antibiotic to cure the lesions, we normally shift to a mild antibiotic like doxycycline for a couple of weeks to treat a remnant infection (if any) and to prevent recurrence.
This condition is acute and is not at all carcinogenic (cancerous).
Only the lesions which remain unaffected by medication for a long time, need to be biopsied or removed surgically. This is an extremely rare condition.
