I have been using doxycycline, I have had trouble urinating still I had oral sex about 3 months ago. First my penis was going numb and then it went away.
We then did a CBC and he tested positive for Anaplasmosis. He was immediately started on 50 mg of Doxycycline and given Tramadol for pain (I've added around 150mg of aspirin occasionally for inflammation). After initially improving (dramatically), his symptoms don't seem to be any better. I convinced the vet to give me another two weeks of Doxycycline, as they only gave me a two week supply, but it's been 10 days already and I'm concerned that I'm chasing a wild goose.
I suffer from chronic inflammation at the shaft near glans for about 3 decades. I also have pain at suprapubic region and have to sleep prone with a ball underneath always. I also get pain and funny feeling at the tendon insertions esp at the lateral end in cubital fossae in both knees. Inflammation takes place even if I masterbated or used a condom. I thought there is Chr Prostatitis and took full course of antibiotics various kinds.

Just to update you, as you know i was diagnosed with Nonchlamydial NGU and was prescribed with Azithromycin (single dose) and then Doxycycline (one week) after the azithromycin failed. Well, my treatment is now over for the Doxycycline and i still have symptoms of NGU which include scant perfectly clear discharge and perhaps a slight discomfort when urinating.
I also have terrible muscle pain I think because of inflammation in the body. The doxycycline has helped take away the terrible pain in my hands and feet. It has also helped with my reactive hypoglycemia. The reason I am telling you this is because you need to think of possibly being treated with doxycycline for your condition. It has helped me greatly. I may or may not have lyme it really doesn't matter. The treatment is helping.
He took a swab test, urine sample and gave me 7 days of doxycycline 100mg x 2. I also went to a private clinic for an HSV blood test -- they said it was highly accurate and "would separate out any false positives/negatives". Both doctors said it did not look at all like herpes, but that if so it was most likely not the primary outbreak.
The irritated feeling began to subside, but then I drank a beer and urinated.
If antibiotic is not taken and the problem is not treated or the pus underneath my scalp is not physically forced out, it moves into the lymphatic system and has given me painful inflammation of glands in my neck and behind my ears.
I was supposed to take 100 mg( 1 pill daily) of Doxycycline for 14 days..But I took this antibiotic(1 pill daily) only for 7 days because it gave me side effects like liver pain,raised ALT and thrush in my mouth. and then I stopped taking it.
Now I do not know what to do next and I have some questions for you .
1. Did Doxycycline ( taken 1 pill daily only for 7 days instead of 14) cure my infection with chlamydia or not?
2. Will I have to take another antibiotic to be sure?
I've been taking doxycycline for a week now (for prostatitis). Yesterday I noticed that the head of my penis was really red and is peeling a little bit. Nothing hurts or itches and there is no discharge, it's just really red, like a wide red strip down the head of my penis.
I have been taking Doxycycline for about ten days now. It is the only new thing that I have done in the last month. In the last three days I have been feeling chest discomfort, shortness of breath and have PVCs. Could this be a side effect of the antibiotic. I also have a tooth waiting for extraction next week, but is not bothering me at all.
About six months ago, I was diagnosed with Gonorrhea after noticing discharge and painful urination. Turns out, my girlfriend had an oral infection, and she transmitted Gonorrhea to me through oral sex. We were both treated. She was given Rocephin and Azithromyocin, and I was given Rocephin and Doxycycline. I wasn't given Rocephin until after my bacterial culture revealed it Gonorrhea and not Chlamydia, but Doxycyline cleared my symptoms within 4 hours.
After seeing the reports, my urologist was saying I have inflammation due to some infection, and started treating me Doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 10 days. I took this antibiotics seriously without skipping. However after completing the 10 days, I can see the pain more severe than in the past in my genitals.
I'm not sure why the pain is not reducing. I have no idea what these reports are, and what is this inflammation and infection could be.
I was treated twice with Doxycycline (2 mos.) for the Lymes but the treatment did not work and the doctors suspected that I may not have Lupus but had Lymes the entire time. In July 2009, a year later, I was tested and the IGM Lymes test was again positive. The neurologist confirmed I have Lymes Disease but told me that it should have showed up on the IGG test and not the IGM test because of the length of time I have had Lymes. Not sure if I’m still infected with chlamydia or if it’s just inflammation from taking so many antibiotics. I haven’t been sexually active since the day I got tested and treated. What should I do?
Took a 100 mg Doxycycline every 12 hours for 5 days and a 500 mg Ciprofloxacin every 12 hours for 1 day.
Discharge reduced but it picked up again in a few days.
Microscope exam results read "Gram Positive Cocci - medium amount" and "Leukocyte Reaction - Observed".
I took a shot of 2400000 units of Procainic Penicillin, which had no effect.
After the above, Thayer-Martin culture for Neisseria Gonorrhoeae and direct immunofluorescence for Chlamydia trachomatis.
Hello sir , I am 22 yrs old & I had swelling on the foreskin of my penis for which my doctor prescribed cetrizine , doxycycline hyclate tablets & Lobate gm ointment (i had no idea that it contains steroid) .After 5 to 6 days that swelling or inflammation was gone . BUT now i guess there is ulcer or sore on the tip of my penis(not the foreskin) .Now My doctor has prescribed CIFRAN 500 & Doxycycline .Is it balantis or something related to syphilis ?? what should i do now ?
However, even after being tested and treated for EVERYTHING, all of my results were negative and antibiotics and anti-fungal (oral and topical) did nothing. The infection only went away after 3 weeks on it's own after the doctor's tried everything.
Since then I've been left with swelling/inflammation on the tip of my penis and redness around the area. This gets worse after sexual activity or masturbation. Luckily, no pain, itching or irritation. It just looks infected.
I have been on doxycycline for Lymes for 7 weeks now. I have noticed a discomfort in my chest. It does not increase with activity. I notice it when I lean forward. It is intermittent. I was given cefuroxime 50mg x2/day for 6 days on day 3, and my symptoms got better until day 3 when I started worsening again. I went back and was given a blood test for c-reactive protein inflammation which turned out positive and was given Doxycycline 100mg x1/day for 10 days. Again, I was improving but on day 3 I started going downhill again.
I am currently weak in bed with the spreading headache, sensitive to light, and continue with yellow phlegm.
no elevated leukcocytes in the urethra or urine, and almost nobody in this situation has postive tests for the organisms for which you were tested. Reactive arthritis (formerly known as Reiter's syndrome) sounds like a stretch to me, but it does possibly explain persistent, antibiotic-resistant urethritis symptoms. The aching you describe indeed sounds typical for the male chronic pelvic pain syndrome (formerly considered a form of prostatitis, but not believed due to an infection).

I have also been diagnosed with Epidiymitis and have been dealing with the pain and inflammation coming and going. Just pain and inflammation no other symtoms. It has been 7 weeks now and it's starting to get a little disheartening because it seems like as soon as I think I am feeling normal the pain sets in again. I have taken cipro and doxycycline. The only thing that seems to help me is ibuprofin.
Ive been on doxycycline for 3 1/2 days, and the discharge has not gone away at all.. may have even worsened. My vagina hurts excruciatingly every time I pee. How long till the pain and discharge goes away?
