Chlamydia has never shown resistence to the macrolide antibiotics such as azithromycin nor the tetracylines such as doxycycline. Clindamycin has no effectiveness for treating Chlamydia. Cipro is iffy for both Chlamydia and Enterococcus infections. I'm a 58 y/o female who had a left total knee replacement 15 months ago with a subsequent MRSA sepsis. enterococcus is very threating bacteria. i wish u should start taking antibiotic. the best antibiotic for this bacteria is Linezolid (Zyvox).
I finished the course and went back for culture and it still came back positive for enterococcus. She then put me on a higher dose of Ampicilling (850mg) and said I should see a Urologist or Urogyn. I went to Urologist and have had a bladder/kidney ultrasound which was negative, postvoid residual scan results = scant, and I am scheduled for a cystoscopy next week. I have taken Cipro 500, Levofloxacin 2 different times and I still have this enterococcus bacteria. It will not go away.
Again bacteria found on penis culture. This time it was: Escherichia coli, Enterococcus Faecalis.

Fortunately, when I had encounter I was on azithromycin for my sinus problem since last 5-6 days (1gm a day). I don’t know whether it protected me form transmitting any disease from that girl or not. ve been fighting with chronic prostatitis (at present urethritis) for nearly 2 years. Initially, I had a chlamydia trachomatis + ureaplasma infection treated the standard way (Doxy 2x100mg for 10 days) it all cleared up and 3 weeks following the treatment PCR DNA was negative. 6 months later symptoms returned but as I had a new girlfriend, I retested for everything, chlamydia PCR was negative, only some bacteria were present (enterococcus), I received Doxy again according to sensitivity report.
10days Xiclav therapy was prescribed. After that, strep was gone, but e colli was there, so Bactrim was prescribed for 5 days. 3rd time only enterococcus faecalis was reported and nothing was prescribed until after 20days the doctor repeated examination. 4th swab indicated presence of strep b (second time) and enterococcus faecalis, amoxiscilin is prescribed for 8-10 days.
I have been diagnosed with Prostitiis with the culture coming back showing Enterococcus. My doctor told me it was very serious and said the best treatment for this germ is Amoxicillin. I am taking 2000mg Amoxicillin a day for 30 days. Eight months ago I was diagnosed with the same disease with the exception it was an E-Coli germ My doctor seemed very upset that this type of disease returned after only 8 months. Doctor has suggested me Linezolid antibiotic for 7 days since Enterococcus Faecilis was found in semen culture and sensitivity test. My question is - Is this infection very dangerous and does it affects fertility?
I went for a repeat urine c+s last week since the previous results were lost, and it was negative for G and C but came back positive for enterococcus faecalis. I told the physician about my exposure, and he recommended treatment with macrobid twice a day x 5 days. I was convinced my symptoms were related to anxiety, so needless to say I was surprised by this result. I can't recall the colony count exactly, but I think it was 20 x 10'6.
Ive been on doxycycline for 3 1/2 days, and the discharge has not gone away at all.. may have even worsened. My vagina hurts excruciatingly every time I pee. How long till the pain and discharge goes away?

But now i have no pain since after taking 3 to 4 liters of water and going high urine.
I am yet to start taking the tablet.
Still should i take the tablet as i don't have pain?
