by all means go to the appointment and see what the doc does and says and diagnoses and treats ... but know going in that ID docs are sometimes not very knowledgeable about Lyme. There is a split in the medical community about how serious Lyme is (or isn't), how widespread it is (or not), how to test for it and what tests to use (some labs are better than others), how to read the test results, and finally: how to treat with what meds for how long.
I am having an issue that's basically put my life on hold and I'm working with my doctor to figure it out. But I am always open to more ideas with respect to what this could be. I've provided a list of recent symptoms and also symptoms chronologically.
Symptoms over the past two weeks:
Persistent fatigue, brainfog, vertigo, and pressure and heat/"burning" in the back of my neck and head, all of which gradually increase in intensity until I lay down.
m with, what in the world , I have tried meds. for inner ear, vertigo, I had a sever bateria infection a week before this and was on a very strong antibotic. had blood work done, crt with dye. and it all looked good. so now what? I just can't figure this out.. please let me know what you would suggest ?
When I was 16, I began experiencing dizzy spells and migraines. I had an MRI and was found to have white matter lesions. My neurologist shrugged it off, saying "migraine syndrome with aura," and m ENT said "probably BPPV."
Since then, I've been able to control my symptoms with meclizine, high doses of ibuprofen, birth control (rule out hormonal migraines!) and, basically, a "positive state of mind.

Now, a VA doctors comes out to my house and tells me that he now thinks that I have Vertigo and Movement Vertigo which is causing my Anxiety situation. Can I be treated for vertigo and Tinnitus after all these years with success or is it too later for me now that 30 yrs have gone by without treatment of any kind? What can the neurologist and hearing doctors do for me now at this late stage in life and time?
Doxycycline 100 mgm by mouth twice/day for 6 weeks and then once/day for 3-6 months is a common treatment of blepharitis and meibomian gland disease. It is not so much antibacterial as antiinflammatory and gets into the oild gland. That's the reason its also used for acne. There is a new product that is specific for blepharitis but I don't have the details or brand name. None of these cause floaters.
instead, i juz told her my prob and she diagnosed me wif oesophagus reflux(side effect of doxycycline) meanin the acid in my stomach traveled up to my esophagus causing irritation and prescibe me wif anacid.
i read somewhere that if i were to take doxycycline, i must not take anacid because it will lessen the effectiveness of doxycycline.
so, now i'm at a lost again..
I was just diagnosed with lyme disease and will be taking Doxycycline for 30 days. Can anyone tell me if I must avoid dairy entirely or just avoid it a couple of hours before and after taking this antibiotics?

either ceftriaxone (Rocephin) or doxycycline would abort incubating syphilis, and the two together guarantees syphilis would be eradicated.
I suggest you lay off the internet. You're obviously very anxious about all this, and in that state of mind you will only find information to inflame and prolong your fears. All is well; nothing bad is going to come from this.
Does it occur when you're breathing? Are you short of breath?

see your doctor. and realize that you canNOT treat all STDs and that MDs do NOT have good tests for all STDs. some STDS we just call em when we see them. so they can say "i don't think you have herpes" but then you could have it. unless they do a blood test
and for men, then don't have a test for HPV...
I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?
I took single dose of doxycycline everyday for 6 weeks during the summer. Would that have cleared a chamydia infection.
