2 weeks later i did a sputum test which showed I had klebsiella oxytoca infection as well as pseudonomas aeruginosa. They treated me with cetamadine iv for 7 days and 10 days of doxycycline (oral). The klebsiella was gone but pseudonomas remained. They then put in a pic line and gave me 3 daily doses of gentamyacin , and 10 days of zosyn . ( zosyn ran for 20 hrs per day and genta for 1hr) .

2) I used zithromax back in july for an ear infections. Would this build up resistance against chlamydia due to overuse of zithromax?

Well, I caught something on February 22nd of this year after receiving oral sex. I'm male by the way. I have tested TWICE for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea and came clean and one test for NGU which I came clean. I was first given Zithromax 1.5g over three days which helped the discomfort in my urethra. In addition to the irritable urethra, there was a strong burning sensation on the surface of the glans and part of my foreskin.
Its been three days after I completed my course of Doxycycline and still I feel tired and feverish,also my face is itchy on cheek and around my lips,mild headache,pain in thighs and some times my testicles pain.
I have an appointment with urologisit this friday.
It will be a great help if you can advise me what it is? based on your experience.

I am afraid that whomever put you on Cipro without testing for gonorrhea and chlamydial infections has put you between a rock and a hard place. You do not mention your age but urinary tract infections are rare in men younger than 40 and thus testing for STIs should almost ALWAYS be done in evaluating such symptoms in men under age 40.
When they occur, gonorrhea and chlamydia are no most common infections that occur. The doxycycline you are taking is recommended therapy for gonorrhea and I suspect the shot you got was ceftriaxone, the recommended therapy for gonorrhea. Both are highly active and if you did get an STI, these would cure the infections.
STIs do not cause urinary dribbling and to have testicular discomfort without an obvious discharge is most unusual.

But in general, your birth control will not be affected by any run-of-the-mill antibiotic that you might be taking for things like sinus infections, strep throat, urinary tract infections, skin infections, acne, etc. Some people believe that because antibiotics disrupt the normal bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, they will interfere with the absorption of the birth control pills from your stomach.
Ive been on doxycycline for 3 1/2 days, and the discharge has not gone away at all.. may have even worsened. My vagina hurts excruciatingly every time I pee. How long till the pain and discharge goes away?

In addition to the virtually zero risk of oral gonorrhea by cunnilingus, plus symptoms that favor other infections, the dose of doxycycline you received almost certainly would have promptly cleared your symptoms if gonorrhea if that was the cause.
Would taking doxycycline (100mg 2x a day for 14 days) prevent a possible syphilis infection? I started taking the doxycycline 2 days after I had unprotected sex with a female bartender. I also took 2g Azithromycin and 400mg cefixime12 hours after the encounter. Then after I completed 14 days of doxycycline, I took a course of the cefixime (400mg daily for 10 days).

But after three days severe white discharge in vagina and itching started, even I had sores on penis, but somehow we used few medicines and blood tests done for four to five infections including hiv, everything is negative, antibiotics doxycycline used full course, but no use.
Whenever we have sex the next day both of our genitals will get swollen and pus forms, then remains four days and then disappears.
I also had blood tests (for HSV, HIV and syphilis), these also came back negative. I have taken a two week course of doxycycline and a week of metronidazole (not at the same time). My symptoms neither improved, nor subsided with these antibiotics.
I am very anxious about both what is causing this symptoms and if I will be able to get rid of them. Not having a diagnosis is also very frustrating, as I don't know what can be done to move forward.
As for Azithromycine, I asked the first doctor about that when I discovered I had mycoplasma and he said they prescribe Doxycycline because in China it's relatively easy to get your hands on Azithromycine and as a result, mycoplasma strains have become more resistant to it, so at this point Doxycycline would be more effective.
I was treated twice with Doxycycline (2 mos.) for the Lymes but the treatment did not work and the doctors suspected that I may not have Lupus but had Lymes the entire time. In July 2009, a year later, I was tested and the IGM Lymes test was again positive. The neurologist confirmed I have Lymes Disease but told me that it should have showed up on the IGG test and not the IGM test because of the length of time I have had Lymes. Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include GU infections resistant to doxycycline, inflammations, trauma, erosions, ulcers etc. Since there has not been any improvement with the antibiotic, I would suggest seeking a review with your treating urologist for a detailed evaluation for other possibilities. After a specific cause is identified, it can be managed accordingly.
You need an appointment with a cardiologist and request a color dopplar of the heart immediately. Not two weeks from now. As of yesterday. This is a two-part exam. Do not accept only the external view.Dental infections often migrate to the bloodstream and then to the heart valve. I'll bet the infection was never culturd snd it may be entirely resistant to Doxycycline. Shortness of breath if NOT a side effect of Doxycycline.
I went to a Dr. as well and he was no help really he just looked at my lab results and gave me doxycycline and sent me on my way. I have now taken two rounds of doxycycline and planned parenthood actually gave me some more but it has not helped up to this point. It's just that the infection has lasted for so long doc thats what worries me. It seems my symptoms get worse after alcohol as well but not sure if that matters.
About 1 1/2 years ago I had sex with a girl and within a few days I was experiencing burning during urination and oozed disharge when pushing out poo. Went to doc and was tested for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea, test came back negative. Doc said symptoms were possibly because of Ureaplasma/Mycoplasma. I believe it was Azithromycin he prescribed, and the symptons went away. Fast forward to today. I had sex with my girlfriend a week ago.
