In addition to what Pamela said, I would also talk to a pharmacist. They just seem to be so much more knowledgable about drugs and what is safe during pregnancy then Dr.s. Keep in mind it's very early in your pregnancy, so all may very well be just fine. Many women at this stage don't even know they are pregnant and od all kinds of crazy things to their bodies. Their babies still wind up being ok. I wish you all the best!!
I have horrible acne and was prescribed doxycycline. I take orthrotricyclen, does anyone know if they interfere?
The chance is really low. I was ona very strong ttetracycline and I just had my scan last week and everything is fine. They checked from head to toe on the scan and measured everything. Just like me, your doctor should have warned you not to get pregnant while on it, and mine never did! The possible side effects for tetracyclines are shortened limbs or blackening of the teeth when the child is older but the chances are veryyyy low because you are so early!
Hello, I am 18 years old and I was prescribed doxycycline for my acne and have been using it daily since April 18th. My boyfriend and I have been sexually active, but we use a condom every time (that is our only form of contraception). After each time, he checks to make sure there's no leak and there hasn't been. Our first time was May 3rd, I got my period May 5th and it ended on May 8th, which is one to two days before it usually ends. We had sex 4 times while on my period.
I was just diagnosed with lyme disease and will be taking Doxycycline for 30 days. Can anyone tell me if I must avoid dairy entirely or just avoid it a couple of hours before and after taking this antibiotics?

I have been prescribed Nystatin rinse with little or no effect, and Diflucan 200mg first day and 100mg for six following days. All no resolution. I have had three HIV tests August 11, 2008, August 29, 2008 and October 10, 2008 all negative. I did take a course of antibiotics for three weeks in mid-August to early September including Doxycycline. Two questions, is it typical for oral candidiasis to be tough to clear up?
*Cefuroxime axetil -- Oral alternative that may be effective in amoxicillin and doxycycline failures. Useful in EM rashes co-infected with common skin pathogens. Adults and pregnancy: 1g q12h and adjust. Children: 125 to 500 mg q12h based on weight.
Tetracycline -- Adults only, and not in pregnancy. 500 mg tid to qid
Erythromycin -- Poor response and not recommended.
Azithromycin --
--Adults: 500 to 1200 mg/d.
I was prescribed Azithromycin to syphilis (early stage). I am allergic to penicilin. However, the doctor prescribed 5 doses (one a day) of 500mg (that is, during 5 days). But I have read that for Syphillis the recommendation is 1g dose (instead of 500mg).
1) Is the dose prescribed enough for Syphillis?
2) five days is enough?
I was treated twice with Doxycycline (2 mos.) for the Lymes but the treatment did not work and the doctors suspected that I may not have Lupus but had Lymes the entire time. In July 2009, a year later, I was tested and the IGM Lymes test was again positive. The neurologist confirmed I have Lymes Disease but told me that it should have showed up on the IGG test and not the IGM test because of the length of time I have had Lymes. Now I have numerous questions.

The tetracyclines, including doxycycline and minocycline, are bacteriostatic unless given in high doses. If high blood levels are not attained, treatment failures in early and late disease are common. However, these high doses can be difficult to tolerate. For example, doxycycline can be very effective but only if adequate blood levels are achieved either by high oral doses (300 to 600 mg daily) or by parenteral (IV) administration.
ve had brown discharge only no periods my gynecologist told me it was because of the lining of my uterus shedding. this year in late Feb. or early Mar. i was prescribed to take doxycycline it stopped my brown discharge until about a week ago the brown discharge has returned. the last time i had unprotected sex was about a month ago so I'm concerned i might be pregnant. can anyone provide some insight?

I went and saw a physician- after an exam, he prescribed me a 125mg ceftriaxone shot and some doxycycline. I did tell him about the zithromax, but he said that was to treat gonorrhea, not chlamydia. Does this sound correct?
I than ended up in the hospital on october 25, they had done a pregnancy test and it had come back negative so they did xrays and a berium test later on. On Nov 9th i woke up feeling like i had to puke, now i cant get this naseus feeling out of my stomach and throat. I have also gained this large craving for orange juice and pickles i hate both! but i cant seem to drink/eat enough it actully got to the point were i like pickle juice and milk mixed together!!!
I took a UTI test Via urine, 2 days into doxycycline and it was negativ. The rest of my urine was sent off for cultures for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and other bacteria. Now I'm stuck playing the waiting game. Any insight that can at least help me relax?
I was recently diagnosed with NGU and was prescribed doxycycline 100mg bid for 7 days. My physician said to abstain from sex until all the medication was gone. That is exactly what I did. I ended up having sex 4 to 5 hours after I took my last dose of doxycycline on day 7. Did I put my partner at risk by having sex so soon after treatment? Also, I took 13 out of the 14 pills. (I choked one of the pills back up and spit it out). Would that have an impact on the meds efficacy?
Doxycycline 100 mgm by mouth twice/day for 6 weeks and then once/day for 3-6 months is a common treatment of blepharitis and meibomian gland disease. It is not so much antibacterial as antiinflammatory and gets into the oild gland. That's the reason its also used for acne. There is a new product that is specific for blepharitis but I don't have the details or brand name. None of these cause floaters.
instead, i juz told her my prob and she diagnosed me wif oesophagus reflux(side effect of doxycycline) meanin the acid in my stomach traveled up to my esophagus causing irritation and prescibe me wif anacid.
i read somewhere that if i were to take doxycycline, i must not take anacid because it will lessen the effectiveness of doxycycline.

I suggest you lay off the internet. You're obviously very anxious about all this, and in that state of mind you will only find information to inflame and prolong your fears. All is well; nothing bad is going to come from this.

see your doctor. and realize that you canNOT treat all STDs and that MDs do NOT have good tests for all STDs. some STDS we just call em when we see them. so they can say "i don't think you have herpes" but then you could have it. unless they do a blood test
and for men, then don't have a test for HPV...
I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.
