What is the dosage of Doxycycline and Azitrox in reactive arthritis caused by chlamydia? Is it the same with the dosage in uncomplicated Chlamydia infection ? Sorry for my bad english..Greetings and waiting for your reply ...

I went to a Dr. as well and he was no help really he just looked at my lab results and gave me doxycycline and sent me on my way. I have now taken two rounds of doxycycline and planned parenthood actually gave me some more but it has not helped up to this point. It's just that the infection has lasted for so long doc thats what worries me. It seems my symptoms get worse after alcohol as well but not sure if that matters.

just pain in lower abdominal area. I took doxycycline and started peeing better but the pain is now permenent. any suggestions? tests? prostate maybe? who should i go see?

last month i had right eye redness,i was diagnosed to have reiters syndrome and was started on doxycycline 100 mg bd. red eye subsided again to be full blown red eyes on both sides last week. both eyes were swollen, painful with yellowish discharge. with some eyedrops it is reduced in severity now, but still right eye is swollen with blurring of vision sometime. can you please help me if any other antibiotic or combination antibiotic can help me get through this condition.

What exactly has caused the lymph nodes to swell can be judged only by clinical examination and investigations like allergy testing to doxycycline,FNAC lymph nodes etc. I sincerely advise you to consult a physician and get this evaluated. In the last six months I have had joint pain in my hands, feet, ankles, knees, lower back, so bad that some days I can barely walk, or even grasp anything with my hands. I was referred to a rheumatologist who ran all the tests - RA, lupus, etc, which all came back negative. I was put on prednisone for a week and noticed dramatic improvement. Therefore my rheumatologist says it is definitely an inflammatory arthritis. I am now on Lodine, and Sulfasalazine. They seem to be helping somewhat.

They conducted a study which showed that chronic chlamydia-induced arthritis can be cured by 9 month combination therapy of doxycycline and rifampicin, Rifampin being useful due to its greater tissue penetration. Additionally, I read that among antibiotics Rifampin has the strongest action against chlamydia. However, it is not used in monotherapy, because of the rapidity with which bacteria develop resistance to it.

I have been treated with doxycycline for 4 months and lyme tests finally showed positive. I had a few herx reactions while on the doxy, one was pretty bad. I have read that microplasma is a possible cause of rheumatoid arthritis and want to know if I should continue taking the doxy. My lyme md wants to put me on I.V. Rocephin and oral zithromax for lyme. Should I check further into microplasma before being treated for lyme? or Can the I.V. help both?

Have gone to therapy, took round of Doxycycline (had lymes couple years ago) doc gave me that in case it was lyme symptoms rearing their ugly head, just had hip and lumbar MRI (shows nothing to cause hip pain), some bloodwork ANA (negative) C protein (negative) and am currently awaiting one more blood test result. I do have psoriasis on my elbows and doc is leaning toward psoriatic arthritis.... I have a rheumatologist appt at the end of the month.

After consulting with my doctor, he tested me for STD (incl Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis and HIV both antibody and NAAT HIV virus DNA test) and while waiting for the results he prescribed Doxycycline, and an injection for speculating possible Gonorrhea and/or Chlamydia.A week later all the tests results came back negative and the symptoms went away, but only for a short period of time.Since then the same symptoms have been reoccurring every few months.

He told me the Suprax/Cipro would treat potential gonorrhea and Doxycycline would cover NGU and other non sexual bacteria. I have a weeks supply of Cipro, however, he told me it wasn't necessary I took the Suprax and Cipro last night. In the middle of the night I went to urinate and noticed a clear substance covering my opening. It was very slight, however, could be described as a clear perhaps sticky discharge. I was only on two antibiotics at the same time, and didn't have the kind of discomfort you report. Ask your doc what can be done, whether other treatments would be less problematic, etc. Also I would NOT take any herbals or medicinals or anything in that frame of reference UNLESS your Lyme doc okays it as to what meds/supplements you take at what doses for how long. Herbs and pharmaceuticals are all just chemicals, and mixing them without a doc's okay is just asking for trouble.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Lymes and CREST Syndrome. I have been on disability for 2 yrs and in Dec. started doxycycline for Lymes and RA. My doctor wants me to consider going on the MP so I'm doing research on it now. I don't want to discontinue my estrogen it has helped me alot. Hi Doctor Hook, Thanks for the quick reply. Just want to clarify i've never had a urethral wbc test before... Just my general blood test shows moderate wbc, consistent with reactive arthritis. If you have an elevated blood wbc (which i have) does that translate into an elevated urethral wbc? I have not had the proper chlamydia test yet, as the testing centre said it was too early.

(a) Cipro–3 wks, still WBC in urine/EPS, (b) Septra–6 dys–rash-changed to doxy, (c) Doxycycline–3 wks, urine normal, STIs neg, but still had pain, and (d) Azithromycin–5 dys, urine normal. Still have intermitt. redness at penis opng, periodic stinging while urinating, and intermitt. low back/buttock pain. Some days, urinate every hour. Been abstinent!? Slowly improving but discomfort impairs concentration. (1) Could there STILL be low-grade bacterial infect in the prostate an EPS might find?

Doxycycline 100 mgm by mouth twice/day for 6 weeks and then once/day for 3-6 months is a common treatment of blepharitis and meibomian gland disease. It is not so much antibacterial as antiinflammatory and gets into the oild gland. That's the reason its also used for acne. There is a new product that is specific for blepharitis but I don't have the details or brand name. None of these cause floaters.

instead, i juz told her my prob and she diagnosed me wif oesophagus reflux(side effect of doxycycline) meanin the acid in my stomach traveled up to my esophagus causing irritation and prescibe me wif anacid. i read somewhere that if i were to take doxycycline, i must not take anacid because it will lessen the effectiveness of doxycycline. so, now i'm at a lost again..

I was just diagnosed with lyme disease and will be taking Doxycycline for 30 days. Can anyone tell me if I must avoid dairy entirely or just avoid it a couple of hours before and after taking this antibiotics? Thanks.

Has anyone had low dose doxycycline (50mg) used for rosacea or used any antibiotic and got severe vertigo 40 minutes after taking it? I had dizzyness then vertigo and my right ear went deaf then I almost fell but my husband caught me and I got nauseated, tired and cold. It only lasted for about 20-30 seconds. I have been sore from almost falling and jerking myself and tired all day.

either ceftriaxone (Rocephin) or doxycycline would abort incubating syphilis, and the two together guarantees syphilis would be eradicated. I suggest you lay off the internet. You're obviously very anxious about all this, and in that state of mind you will only find information to inflame and prolong your fears. All is well; nothing bad is going to come from this.
