The Valium-Cymbalta combo is safe and is something I used in the past. He's behavioral changes are due to the new norepinephrine reuptake inhibition that he is getting with Cymbalta that he wasn't getting with Paxil. Of course taking 3 Valiums will make most people act like you described as ''He is slurring words, falling over, and just out of it.'' but it's not due to the Cymbalta of at least I really don't think so.
The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! Flexeril and soma are both muscle relaxers....doesn't seem as if teking both each day would be of any benefit...flexeril is the safer of the two as far as addiction....there are some warnings posted as far as anti-depressents and some of the aminos...I was on lexapro (anti-depressent) during detox...nuerontin, I also take flexeril rarely but it can help you sleep..I followed the recipe without difficulty...
In your opinion would i be better off with the ultram and valium along with physical therapy, or the cymbalta with valium. I hate taking pills, and the withdrawal from cymbalta looks like a nightmare!!
also I am going to start to see a therapist...hopefully that will help. Just in terrible cycle of pain..anxiety..no movement..more pain etc..... Thanks for your insight.
my daughter is very anxious so the dr put her on both the cymbalta 30 mg with the paxil of 20 for one week and then 15 paxel for another week and then 10 paxil and increase to 60 cymbalta. she had a brain trauma in a car accident and has to deal with alot so is this too much. she had a seizure on the ultram but she took too many at one time for a headache..
As you discovered Ultram and Cymbalta should only be taken together if the benefits out weight the risks. In your situation that was not true. Who prescribed these? Are you seeing the same PA for all of your medications?
Yes the prescribing medical provider should have know the interactions.... but where was your pharmacist? They are the experts in medications and their interactions. This information should have been presented to you at the time the Cymbalta was added to your regime.
Some antidepressants have been successfully used for pain. Cymbalta is commonly prescribed for pain and Effexor has shown promise in studies for pain. Some of the older Tricyclic antidepressants like Imipramine have had good results on pain. I have never heard of Zoloft being used for pain however. I suppose it could possibly work by the way it increases synaptic levels of dopamine but Zoloft is only a weak dopamine re-uptake inhibitor.
im on both these med just started teh cymbata i read on a site online where if u take the two together u could die is anyone else on these meds?
