cymbalta

Avatar f tn I have in the last 4 months tapered myself off the cymbalta and I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. I have been two weeks totally off this drug . The dizziness and brain zaps are getting better, but my taste buds are still horrible. It feels like the front of my tongue has been burnt and it feels like my teeth are coated with rubber. How long do these withdrawal symptoms last. I can handle it all, but the taste bud sensation is horrible.
Avatar m tn Then it was going to happen AGAIN but I was smart the second time and expected it to happen so I gradually poured more and more powder out of the capsules over the course of months to prevent withdrawal and the second time I didn't experience withdrawal at all. Only problem is the second time I soon after had my next full psychotic break. juliagulia45 Benzos you have to be careful about withdrawing from because the withdrawal can actually kill a person.
1442059 tn?1340244552 I am now on day 10 of taking cymbalta. I feel so tired. I lay around barely able to get dressed. What the heck. Can this be because of my liver? I was wondering if this goes away. No appetite, shaky, what the heck is going on? I thought it was supposed to help me feel better. My treatment starts in a few wks getting kinda scared. If I feel like this now what will life be like then.?This may sound stupid but they told me to take it in the am , can I take it at night?
714288 tn?1243257791 You are so very right about the withdrawals, that is why I have so much time spent on it. Scared to death of the withdrawal, but in its defense, for addicts with a long history of drug addiction it can be a lifesaver. WE are able to live a normal life with a normal job but not crave the effects of the harmful drugs. It has helped me do just that then I find out I have hepatitis C that has been dormant for at least 15 years because it has been that long since IV drug use.
Avatar f tn You have to even go down to splitting the smallest dose into just grains until you can wean off this drug. The withdrawal side effects are akin to heroine withdrawal, so you should take this very seriously. I was down to 12 grains before I stopped, I still got the electric shooting feelings going on in my head, severe nausea and body aches, I had the chills and was sweating profusely. I also took ativan to help with the shakes, it was awful.
1348086 tn?1370786785 Pristiq is ''the new Effexor, if you had success with Effexor and Cymbalta in the past I think it's a good choice. It depends on what you are expecting from a drug. The tricyclic SNRIs are rather sedating while the SNRIs are stimulating. Do you want to take your medication at night or during the day? Do you suffer from insomnia or hypersomnia? Those are questions that needs to be answered for a better medication choice even tho everyone can react differently to drugs.
Avatar f tn Hi all- Have any of you taken Cymbalta and Lyrica together? Just wondering about other peoples experiences taking these two meds together. I am to take 60mg Cymbalta 1x daily (I've already been on this for awhile) and 75mg Lyrica 2x daily I had a bad reaction taking Cymbalta and Savella together so am leery of trying another combination, but my PM doctor seems to think this will work. We are in a "trial and error" stage right now...and I'm so sick of feeling like a lab rat!
Avatar n tn My Doc switched me to cymbalta starting with a low dose and advising me to withdrawal from the effexor on a weekly basis, reducing the mgs of the drug 37.5mgs per week. Two weeks ago my vision got really bad. I was driving at night and realized I couldn't see the road signs, much less the street signs. My reading sight does not seem to be impacted, only my long distance vision. I just read about all the eye diseases one can get from effexor withdrawal and I'm scared to death.
Avatar f tn The Zoloft doesn't substitute for Cymbalta -- no drug would, really -- and the symptoms you describe are classic withdrawal symptoms. Because of the short period of time you were on Zoloft I'd say there's no way to know at this point if it would work for you or not since any benefit would be lost in the withdrawal you were suffering from not first slowly slowly tapering off the Cymbalta.
Avatar n tn He pout me on 30mg of cymbalta to help ease the anxiety which seems to be helping however tyhe nausea is really bad. I cant eat, sleep or really do much of anything. I'm just wondering how long i can expect the withdrawal to stick around as I said I'm into day 2 and i'm going from 60mg to 100mg oxycodone a day to nbothing. If anyone culd give me an idea of how long I can expect this living hell to go on it would give me a little hope.
Avatar n tn I was thinking of taking Benadryl to assist with calming down. Also, I'm on Cymbalta - an antidepressant - which has proven to assist with the depression I really do have...I'm hoping it makes this withdrawal go a little easier. I don't want to be chained to vic anymore...so much more to life that I'm missing out on....argh....What is that Thomas Recipe everyone is talking about? Any advice would be really appreciated...
Avatar f tn Fastforward almost 10 years later.. I am trying to wean off of it. I have tried before with bad withdrawal and fearfulness of what would happen. I now feel even more depressed, which is strange I was never originally given medication for depression. After trying to wean off, I feel worse. I haven't had anxiety in years but my doctors told me "just stay on the meds for the rest of your life".
Avatar n tn After I finished the project in mid-may, I decided that I needed to stop using a drug to get through the day, so I tried to just stop taking it. WOW! Serious withdrawal symptoms including joint and muscle pain, stomch issues, fatigue, depression and a strange hollowness in my nerves ensued. I didn't feel I could just stop functioning for a week or two or whatever it would take, so I used some hydrocodone that I had to help me get my tramadol use down to 100mg per day over the course of a week.
Avatar n tn While tapering, in order to continue work and not suffer withdrawal, I was given xanax. I became addicted at one time up to 25 mg.s a day, down to 15 now. It's been close to a year. What is the best way to detox without losing my job? If I take a medical leave for 30 days in December and take no xanax, will that be enough time or should I continue to slowly taper? Also, my rehab doctor has given me Prozac to help withdrawal from the xanax.
Avatar n tn I have to cut down and recently cut down to 10 a day and have experienced physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms. I have some clonidine and don't know how much to take for withdrawal. What is the recommended dosage. My goal is to eventually cut down to 4 a day, but have been very uncomfortable at 10. I also take effexor and trazadone for depression, but I am so depressed right now. Hydrocodone, believe it or not has helped my depression and has given me something to look forward to.
Avatar f tn 5 mg normally 4 a day but sometimes more. May 16, 20011 - June 8, 2011 - Cymbalta 60mg Delayed Release caps I went to the hospital in April 2011 and was so sick. I couldn't eat, I was shakey, sweaty, vomiting, ok...I had it coming out both ends. I was told then that it was a sinus infection and with the ER doctors knowing I was taking Ultram, they prescribed me Ciprofloxacin 500mg. I had no clue that these pills weren't supposed to be taken together...
202665 tn?1248810333 I'm not creative anymore...and i need that. So, I'm on cymbalta, lamictal, lithium and seroquel XR. I've stopped the seroquel (which was a bear) and have now stopped the lithium (another bear). I've read that in stopping lithium mania/depression can come back even worse after 3 months. I'm wondering if anyone has had experiences like that or if the cymbalta and lamictal might be enough to hold that at bay while giving me part of my 'normal' life back.
Avatar n tn I have been on it since July 28 of 07. I am like alot of you scared to death of new medicines. I take it for RSD. I searched the medicines on the internet and also ask the pharmacist about the medicines. The pharmacist told me it had less side effects than Lyrica and it was safer than Lyrica as well. She said neurontin had been around awhile and that Lyrica was the new drug as far as treating nerve pain. I started the Neurontin in August of 07 and I have had no problems at all.
Avatar f tn that turns into Severe Depression during the day...Is this normal for Withdrawal?...I don't mind the physical aspects...it's the Anxiety and Depression that are terrifying me. Even though I've been prescribed these pain pills for a fractured back...I just don't want to be on them. Have others gone thru horrible Anxiety and Depression as well when they were quitting? I just want to feel happy and normal again...without medication of ANY sort. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated..
Avatar m tn In the past, when I was using alot more everyday, the physical withdrawal symptoms were horrible but the cravings weren't too bad. Do you guys have some ideas of how to deal with the mental side of withdrawal and cravings? It just seems like I can't keep my focus. Thanks...hope everyone is doing good today.
Avatar m tn I don't have a timeline on your meds, but if they overlapped (or not), it sounds like you are suffering from multiple withdrawal. The Gaba, Lexapro and Cymbalta all have their own horrid withdrawal, then add in the Lyrica for 30days, then stopping that abruptly, you're poor nervous system is completely overwhelmed. I sooo understand the despondency of feeling so terrible day after day.
Avatar n tn I am a single mother to a two year old boy and I don't know how I will get through this. How do I withdrawal AND be a mother to an over active toddler?
Avatar f tn Hey Everyone, this is my first post ever anywhere. I did a Google search & here I am. I am getting ready to start home withdrawal for the second time. I did it the first time C.T. and for god knows why went back on the same meds 6 mos later. I have been on Oxy 10/325 4xday and MSContin 30 my 2xday for a year. I never take more or run out but you better believe I'm more reliable than Big Ben for the next dose. My deal is this....
Avatar n tn so it's really a no-choice situation... but for him to say he's had NO patients that complained of withdrawal symptoms after tapering off zoloft even in the correct time frame its supposed to be done? That is a downright lie. Everyone I ever spoke to who took it, had a terrible time getting off of it! And the idea that your doctor wants you to get your system "clean" before starting a new drug is total BS. You can start something right away. My guess is you need to change doctors..
1697690 tn?1329127238 I'm also a little over a day myself today, 31 hrs to be exact, of 160mg of oxycontin withdrawal. The anxiety and sweats are by far my worst. I know I can get through this, I've been through this before and focused to be the last time. I want you to know you can get through this too, soon you will be feeling like other people are feeling off pills and it will be wonderful. I have too much to live for and I'm sure you do too.
444932 tn?1273984397 Why did it take two days after stopping the pills for the withdrawal (if that's what this is) to get so bad? I googled withdrawal symptoms and was linked to a site for suboxone (sp??). Has anyone tried that? Does it work? Is it worth it? I have not told my medical doctor about this b/c I don't want it in my medical records. I don't want my employer to find out. I don't want my family to find out. I just want to deal with this and get it over with.
Avatar n tn I'm having withdrawal symptoms I didn't expect. Light headedness, the runs, blood pressure going up, and general fatigue. Lots of fatigue. And some irritability. I am hoping that these symptoms begin to decrease soon. Well, they have gotten better than it was in the first 2 days. I am still wondering how long I can expect to have these side effects of withdrawal?

1474625 tn?1371100679 Gabapentin should not be discontinued abruptly after long term use. Abrupt or over rapid withdrawal may provoke a withdrawal syndrome reminiscent to alcohol or benzodiazepine withdrawal. Gradual reduction over a period of weeks or months helps minimize or prevents the withdrawal syndrome.
