Cymbalta withdrawal sweating

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta withdrawal sweating

Avatar f tn DO NOT START CYMBALTA !!! If you go online and look at Cymbalta withdrawal you will be amazed. I have had 29 surgeries over the course of my life and have experienced some very severe pain including a thorotcotomy for spinal surgery, kidney stones, pelvic pain for numerous abdominal surgeries. I have weaned off of many narcotics over the years and have done OK by eating a very healthy diet, taking supplements, excercising, deep breathing and meditation along with praying.
1442059 tn?1340244552 I am now on day 10 of taking cymbalta. I feel so tired. I lay around barely able to get dressed. What the heck. Can this be because of my liver? I was wondering if this goes away. No appetite, shaky, what the heck is going on? I thought it was supposed to help me feel better. My treatment starts in a few wks getting kinda scared. If I feel like this now what will life be like then.?This may sound stupid but they told me to take it in the am , can I take it at night?
Avatar f tn dizziness, nausea, headache, paresthesia, fatigue, vomiting, irritability, insomnia, diarrhea, anxiety, and hyperhidrosis (increased sweating). Search Cymbalta PDR and Eli Lilly P.S. When my grandfather wanted to stop his Cymbalta (after being well informed of the Pros/Cons), I just sprinkled a tiny bit of the capsule into the trash and closed the capsule back up. Each week I sprinkled a little more into the trash. You MUST NOT swallow the tiny beads without the protective capsule coating !!!
Avatar n tn Now I am going to see if I can find a doctor who will actually acknowledge that there is such a thing as Cymbalta withdrawal, and who will help me to safely get off of it. Best of luck to you and a suggestion: please do your own research on any medication a doctor wants to put you on (or take you off) before actually doing so.
5429367 tn?1368189606 I have no choice but to quit Cymbalta cold turkey. This frightens me as I know that sudden withdrawal will be hard on my already compromised nervous system.....I need help as I feel I am running out of time.
Avatar f tn Can anyone offer any suggestions of how to ease the withdrawal symptoms I'm having going from 40-60mg Hydrocodone a day to 20 mg a day in one week; 100mg daily of Ultram down to 50mg daily in one week; and from 90mg daily Cymbalta to 30 mg. a day in one week? I feel like I could bite nails in half. My head is in a vice and has these startling wooshing-type things. My legs are getting restless. I'm tired but I can't sleep very well. Any help at all would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn You have to even go down to splitting the smallest dose into just grains until you can wean off this drug. The withdrawal side effects are akin to heroine withdrawal, so you should take this very seriously. I was down to 12 grains before I stopped, I still got the electric shooting feelings going on in my head, severe nausea and body aches, I had the chills and was sweating profusely. I also took ativan to help with the shakes, it was awful.
Avatar f tn hey everyone, How hard is it to get off cymbalta? i want to get of the Cymbalta that the ID put me on not too long ago...last December, just before christmas, 2011. so 8+months. I have never really been "on " an antidepressant, tried a few weeks here and there in the past 15 years and i was always in a stupor.. Doc said it would help with my pain. I was desperate. Came home with the script and cried. It is less than a year, and i went from 90mg to 60 in July 2012.
Avatar f tn I have craved it several times, today being one of the harder days. Part of the reason is I have tapered off of Cymbalta and am now on day 3 without it. I have to say the withdrawals have really caught me off guard. I have electricity shooting through my body but mostly through my head, dizziness, achiness, insomnia, runny nose, canker sores, upset stomach and stomach ache, tingly arms, touchy skin, headache, mood swings and irrational thoughts.
Avatar n tn After I finished the project in mid-may, I decided that I needed to stop using a drug to get through the day, so I tried to just stop taking it. WOW! Serious withdrawal symptoms including joint and muscle pain, stomch issues, fatigue, depression and a strange hollowness in my nerves ensued. I didn't feel I could just stop functioning for a week or two or whatever it would take, so I used some hydrocodone that I had to help me get my tramadol use down to 100mg per day over the course of a week.
Avatar m tn It is good to hear from you again but not good to hear about your new problem, I am not an expert on withdrawal so you really should discuss this with your physician. I can tell you that what you are feeling is your bodies need for the opiate. You body has become depend on these omedications. It would happen to any of us that require and have taken opiates for any length of time. So what you are experiencing is normal. Addiction and dependency are two different things.
Avatar f tn It has been 2 days of horrible withdrawal just like with the Percocet. I am so scared because of what I went theu with stopping the Percocet CT!!!!! Is Tramadol addictive like the Percocerts etc are? WHY DIDN'T THE DR TELL ME THAT? Someone also said that Tramadol also is an anti depressant and works on yr serotonin levels so that comes in to play when you stop! I was taking 150 - 200 mg a day , everyday for about 4 weeks.
Avatar n tn I have to cut down and recently cut down to 10 a day and have experienced physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms. I have some clonidine and don't know how much to take for withdrawal. What is the recommended dosage. My goal is to eventually cut down to 4 a day, but have been very uncomfortable at 10. I also take effexor and trazadone for depression, but I am so depressed right now. Hydrocodone, believe it or not has helped my depression and has given me something to look forward to.
Avatar f tn like I said I couldn't sleep and quit taking the Cymbalta on June 8, 2011. Serious sweating...crying, confused...thoughts of suicide....faint feeling...and other flu like symptoms. My PA is also a friend on Facebook, so I sent him a message and told him my symptoms...he said "I'm sorry your feeling bad, you should try an internal medcine doctor in another town". Huh? Seriously? Well after a few days of getting worse I did a search and typed in my symptoms and the meds I was taking.
Avatar n tn No I'm not crazy just been on Cymbalta.. Please google cymbalta withdrawal and see what you can find.. interesting reading on cymbalta sucks if you use that in google as well.. I'm down to half my dose and still unable to get off 48 hours without feeling VERY sick.. I started taking if because of neck pain and it was great for about 3 or so months but I realized I didn't feel sad OR happy.. so I decided to go off of it a few months later..
478403 tn?1266549609 I know I have read different articles some saying doctors don't believe Lyrica causes withdrawal symptoms but after having under gone severe withdrawal syndrome from Valium I beg to differ because I am recognizing some of the symptoms. Oh I forgot to mention I am sweating a lot! I hate to sweat! I feel like I stink when I sweat. I have been so exhausted I can barely take a dang shower!
Avatar n tn Here is what the webpage states : "Adverse events following the abrupt discontinuation of gabapentin have also been reported. The most frequently reported events were anxiety, insomnia, nausea, pain and sweating." I do apolgize, I never had a problem coming off of it, however differnt people have different reactions to meds.. So it is possible..
Avatar f tn that turns into Severe Depression during the day...Is this normal for Withdrawal?...I don't mind the physical's the Anxiety and Depression that are terrifying me. Even though I've been prescribed these pain pills for a fractured back...I just don't want to be on them. Have others gone thru horrible Anxiety and Depression as well when they were quitting? I just want to feel happy and normal again...without medication of ANY sort. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated..
Avatar m tn I suffer from chronic pain and had allergic three actions to gabapentin, lexapro and cymbalta, then I switched pain doctors not happy, he suggested lyrica I said I wouldn't go on it until I spoke with Eli Lily they told me there is no chance of me having the allergy, I was only on it for two weeks and that dyskinesia kicked in, I was on a low dose, only one pill, because I was or he having problems with it. Now I'm in lyrica brutality withdrawal!
Avatar n tn m curious if anyone has any new information. I too have excessive sweating and do take cymbalta. However, the sweatng didn't start until I stopped cymbalta for a month, and because the side effects of withdrawal were so horrible, I went back on cymbalta. It's been four months I've been back on it and still have the sweats.
Avatar n tn anyhow with my dr's advice we gradually tapered off the meds but i am still having severe withdrawal and wondering will it ever stop. i have sweating, chills, amcompletely out of it most of the time. i have such a buzz in my head that is is quite scary and i am hoping this tremors in mu head will stop. all i have been able to do to get somerelief is tostay in bed, i have been unable toeat, have had diaharrhea, chills and then sweating, and am just completely feeling out of it.
1697690 tn?1329127238 It is painful to type this right now but my body hurts so bad, my eyes are so watery, my legs wont stop twitching, i am sweating and so hot and then freezing cold the next second. My stomach hurts so bad I think I might throw up at any second. But I want to get through this so badly. I know this is just the drug trying to keep me using, I need to get through these WD's I want to have a real life and actually live my life not just watch it go by.
Avatar n tn so it's really a no-choice situation... but for him to say he's had NO patients that complained of withdrawal symptoms after tapering off zoloft even in the correct time frame its supposed to be done? That is a downright lie. Everyone I ever spoke to who took it, had a terrible time getting off of it! And the idea that your doctor wants you to get your system "clean" before starting a new drug is total BS. You can start something right away. My guess is you need to change doctors..
5100586 tn?1363648354 I am currently on 2 and a half months of withdrawal from Cymbalta, which is like lyrica, I still feel horrible. I am extremely depressed, anxious, and now I have tardive dyskensia from it. I never feel good. I have been bedridden for 2 months. I have not found anything yet that helps. Hang in there.
Avatar f tn I'm also taking vitamins/minerals, lots of Motrin, drinking water, taking hot baths, and resting. I read Thomas' guide to withdrawal and it sounded like my own regimen years ago! But he doesn't specify how many benzos/how often?? Does anyone have any tips/info? It would be very much appreciated as I'm at day 1 1/2 and definitely feel like I'm dying of the flu here....although fortunately, feel as if I'm in high spirits.
444932 tn?1273984397 Why did it take two days after stopping the pills for the withdrawal (if that's what this is) to get so bad? I googled withdrawal symptoms and was linked to a site for suboxone (sp??). Has anyone tried that? Does it work? Is it worth it? I have not told my medical doctor about this b/c I don't want it in my medical records. I don't want my employer to find out. I don't want my family to find out. I just want to deal with this and get it over with.
Avatar n tn I'm having withdrawal symptoms I didn't expect. Light headedness, the runs, blood pressure going up, and general fatigue. Lots of fatigue. And some irritability. I am hoping that these symptoms begin to decrease soon. Well, they have gotten better than it was in the first 2 days. I am still wondering how long I can expect to have these side effects of withdrawal?
Avatar n tn I felt tired alot while driving and emotionless. My doc tried adding other medicine to help with my depression ( Cymbalta, Lexipro, Buspar ), but I didnt like the feeling any of them gave me. So to get down to it, I just quit all my medicine cold turkey. I stopped taking the Wellbutrin 2 weeks ago and the clonazapam 5 days ago. I first noticed my lack of patience and agitation come on first.
Avatar m tn they gave me clonidine which is non-narcotic for the withdrawal(and knocks you out!!!!) when I got through the withdrawal I got on Cymbalta for leg pain/depression and remeron for sleep. I just love remeron. I should be a spokesperson for this drug. Not only does it have anit-depressing agents in it but it comes in a dissolvable tablet and literally takes minutes and I am out!!!! And trust me, I am a total insomniac!!! I would go to your doctor and at least give it a try!
