Call a pharmacist. Walgreens are usually open 24 hours. lol. I call them all the time with questions like that. I take an Lexapro with my klonopin. Klonopin is a benzo, and Lexapro is an antidepressant. What's trazodone? Is that another benzo? Are you taking 2 benzos at the same time? Call your Dr. and ask or call a pharmacist. Very different meds. Lexapro is an ssri, while Cymbalta is an snri. ssris target serotonin receptors, while snris target both serotonin and norepinephrine receptors. Your post is a little confusing -- did you taper off the Zoloft, or go off cold turkey, or switch to Lexapro, or are you on both Zoloft and Lexapro and now Cymbalta? Going off any of these meds abruptly, even if you switch to another, can trigger a withdrawal, which is why I'm asking.

I'm wondering if anybody has had experience in taking Cymbalta for anxiety and depression. I took Lexapro for several years and it stopped working, so I tried Zoloft this summer, which didn't help my anxiety at all, so now I'm back on the Lexapro and Buspar. I feel better than I did a few months ago in terms of anxiety, but nowhere near as well as I did in the past, and now my depression is horrible.

I have been taking Lexapro for years. It def kept the depression away, but I was very "lax" about everything. Still better than the "angry" me. My doctor switched me over to Cymbalta a month ago and I"m not liking the feeling. I take it in the morning but by 5ish, I'm shaky ... I am having thought and feelings I havent had in many years and I want to switch back to the Lexapro. I also take 1mg of Clanozapam in the morning.

So I slowly weaned off the lexapro and switched to cymbalta. For a week i took 5 mg of lexapro and a 30mg cymbalta. Now I am at a therapeutic dosage of 60mg cymbalta. And I also take clonozapem up to 3 times a day if I have panic attacks. Lexapro gave me gastroinstestinal side effects. While as Cymbalta now seems to give me sleep troubles/insomnia. However, sometimes the medication outweighs the side effects.

You must know that one size does not fit all concerning drugs. Some people had a bad experience with Lexapro and went to Cymbalta and it was a life saver and the same is true for Cymbalta. Final word, I woud choice between Lexapro and Cymbalta and you must note that i'm not a doctor and you should talk about it with you doctor prior making a decision.

Everything I have read says this does not treat anxiety. I just started taking Zoloft because it does...so does Paxil, Lexapro and such. Maybe it will work..dunno?

I have been taking Cymbalta for 2 months and it has been a really really good medication for me with the depressiona and anxiety.Unfortunately I have gained 15lbs. I went from excercising 2x's a week to now excercising 7 days a week and going into the sauna for 20min and also have been cutting down in the amount of food I eat, where as before I didn't eat very much anyway. If somebody has a solution please share your secret.

I tried a couple of antidepressants (including Lexapro) but almost felt more iritable taking them then not taking them. I will keep you posted with how Pristiq works out but it can take up to 6 wks before it really kicks in, Im told. Eh, we'll see.

My pshy is taking me off lexapro after 8 days and said do a slow taper and start right on cymbalta at the same time im scared of being on 2 antidepresants even though the taper is only for a few days,she just wanted to make sure i didnt have any withdrawals from the lexapro even though only been on it a short time im so scared and she is gonna start me on abilify also

I have been living with severe anxiety and depression along with depersonalization for the last 6 months. I just started cymbalta 60mg. Was wondering if anyone thinks this might help with the anxiety and depersonalization feelings?

Lexapro and Cymbalta both seem to jack up my blood pressure. I always had perfect readings 120/70 50hr On Cymbalta, I'm LUCKY to get 135/80, but often have gotten readings closer to 159/115. Scary as hell. I just quit taking Cymbalta 11 days ago because of this, and my systolic is down but the diastolic is still wanting to hover around 90... I was wondering how long I could expect this to last after discontinuing.. It doesn't look like this forum is doctor moderated though...

s probably not a good long term solution to your arthritis pain anyway and it can be very hard to stop taking, as can Paxil. There are other meds you can combine with Cymbalta, perhaps talk your psychiatrist about them.

Week 1: 10 mg Lexapro and 30 mg Cymbalta Week 2: 5 mg Lexapro and 60 mg Cymbalta Week 3 and on: 60 mg Cymbalta. Does that look standard? Should I expect any side effects? Thanks.

I've been taking Zoloft twice a day (100 mg) for more than 10 years and it is no longer working. I'm interesting in trying to figure out what to try now. I've heard good things about Lexapro (insurance covers) and Cymbalta (insurance does not cover no generic)... So what should I do... I took Cymbalta for depression, however, I noticed a relief in pain of FMS with my first dosage. I discontinued it when I began taking Ultram (as they sometimes do not mix well). Anything that requires a prescription will come with certain side-effects...one needs to try the medication to see how it works and weigh if the difference in pain is significant enough for them to continue taking, as compared with the side-effects. What helps one, may not help the other.

Also, I am currently on medication for thyroid(Levothyroxin) as well as blood pressure(Cozaar), and Propoxypnen-APAP 100-650MG(for my spinal pain). Should I start on the Cymbalta? Will it interact with my other medication? I really want to go off of the Clonazepam. Thank You.

I have been taking medications for anxiety. I am on Lexapro 20mgs and was just recently put on Pamelor_(Nortriptyline). I have been having tremors when I wake up in the morning, but never really any other time of the day. I didn't have Tremors when I was just on the Lexapro (it works on serotonin). Started having them taking the Pamelor. I also noticed having them when Docs tried giving me Cymbalta and Effexor, which work on both.

My mom thinks that my heart palpitations are due to cymbalta (which I am taking for anxiety), which I just started taking a few days ago. Before that, I took lexapro for over two years. I've only been on cymbalta for 10 days and I skipped yesterday because my mom insists that's what's causing my chest pains and heart palpitations. I cried myself to sleep last night and I can't stop crying right now but I have no reason to at all.

m so happy with this post because I been feeling the same way about anti depressants and I been messing with them since I went off the pain pills my doctor put me on lexapro and trileptal and the same problem that ChiChi said so stopped the trileptal and change to Wellbutirin bad decision so now I'm stopping everything I will do the amino acid protoccol and see how that works for me but no more prescriptions for me just sub (for now) and my nexium (I have to have that)

OMG - now I know why I hate taking meds. Cymbalta was approved recently in Canada but I wanted to know how "real" people have experienced it. The only anti-depressant I was able to take was Prozac and after awhile it was no longer effective. Every other anti-depressant has had negative side-effects. Also don't think meds alone help - I need talk therapy at least if I took meds. Maybe I'll just stay depressed. Thank you for responding.

Hey guys, I plan to start Cymbalta (30mgs) tomorrow morning per my pdoc. I have had some very bad experiences with some of the other SSRI's (Zoloft, paxil, celexa, lexapro) as far as sleep/sexual/cognitive disturbances but I feel like some prescription help may (still) be warranted. I just wanted to see what anyone had to say regarding their experiences with this drug. Thanks!
