Coughing for several months

Common Questions and Answers about Coughing for several months

coughing

Avatar f tn I have had a headache for several months now which moves about from one part of my head to another. Most of the time it is not very bad and may, for a few minutes, go away. I do not feel it at night. Coughing gives me a really blinding, acute pain mainly in my forehead which gradually subsides to the usual 'flitting' pain over an hour or two. Drinking water (!!!) fairly frequently seems to keep the sharper pains away except when I cough or bend down.

Avatar m tn ve read through the comments here just a few days ago because our dog (a shih tzu), Ching-Ching, who we love dearly had been experiencing the same coughing and shortness of breath for almost 10 months. Great news is that just a day or two after reading this thread, I noticed she stopped coughing. I observed her yesterday and today and really no more coughing from her, not even once! Thank God!
981046 tn?1248587175 My wife developed a constant dry cough several months ago. This cough continues day and night and she continues to cough on the average of 15 to 30 times an hour. She was diagnosed with allergies about two months ago and since then has been getting weekly shots.I am skeptical that the shots are doing anything but emptying our bank account! She continues to have a chronic cough and we have not noticed any improvement.
Avatar n tn That should be done. Given that this has been going on for 6 months, it is probably time for you to have a CT scan of the lungs and/or a bronchoscopic exam. If your pulmonologist is unwilling to proceed with further testing, then yes you should seek a second opinion. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Look for a free clinic in your area. There are several in my small city. Call your local health deptmart or food bank for help finding one if needed. You could research vocal cord dysfunction (VCD). There are several video clips of breathing techniques on the web. This could be the cause of your difficulty. VCD is a spasm of the vocal cords that can be triggered by many things including crying, singing and laughing. I hope that helps you and that you find answers soon.
Avatar n tn It looks like the check CT noted emphysema. That alone can cause this kind of coughing. My mom quit smoking after over 60 years, and coughs more than she ever did while smoking. Doc says it can go on for several months before it finally goes away. If the docs can't find any other infection or disease process, your husband may be in for more suffering before his body deals with the changes from not smoking.
Avatar f tn So, for 3 months now, I've been coughing. Sometimes a lot, and sometimes, like right now, I just get random tickles in my troat with results in coughing. I've had chest pain before within these 3 months, but it went away. Now it's back, and it's a bid odd. Sometimes it's a burning sensation with over the counter meds for acid reflux can take care of, and sometimes it's random tightness/sharp stings both medial and lateral on my chest. Especially when bending over.
Avatar f tn sinus CT scan is normal too. Is this viral is it okay to take several months for cough to go away. I have no wheezing or asthma history. could this be lung infection? Please help.
Avatar f tn I've been coughing for 2 months and still going. It's almost only at rest, not when I speak or exercise. IT feels like a tickle, most of the time like it's from the deep parts of the troat. Clearing my throat doesn't work, only coughing. It's driving me crazy. Some clear mucus does come up, sometimes a bit of yellow too, and sometimes nothing. No other symptoms. No breathlessness, no blood.. Have been to my GP, waiting for the results of a mucus sample.
Avatar n tn s a coincidence but my other roommate is also coughing for the last 3 months with the same symptoms. Nothing wrong with the place however, a few other people live here with nothing.
Avatar m tn Ok i am a 29 year old male i used to smoke marijuana in cigar paper everyday but stopped several days ago before I became sick for several days coughing, body aches the chills head and sinus pains wheezing and no appetite while most of those symptoms stopped after several days the coughing and wheezing has stayed what concerns me is that I am wheezing still and sometimes coughing up a clearer phlegm (the phlegm 3days prior was dark green to yellow but is now more clear yellowish) with slight tra
Avatar f tn I was allergic to the high dose of folic acid. After coughing and not being able to breathe for almost 6 months, as soon as I stopped taking the vitamins I stopped coughing. But I think I have lingering after effects from that episode, as every time my chest is exposed to cold air I start coughing. In the summer I have to keep my chest bundled up from the AC.
Avatar f tn For the past several months I've been having a variety of symptoms which didn't seem to add up to anything. It began in late April when I had an odd feeling like something was stuck in my throat. Then I had trouble swallowing--no pain, but food would feel like it was stuck in my throat for hours after I'd eaten.
Avatar f tn I have always been a non-smoker and have had a persistent cough for about 9 months now. My MD initially prescribed antibiotics, something for post nasal drip and allergy pills. None of the above helped. I proceeded to meet with an ENT doctor. He prescribed something for reflux which didn't help. Then I received a lung X-Ray which showed my lungs were good, and had a pulmonary function test which showed I didn't have asthma. I am frustrated and tired of coughing.
Avatar f tn Mabe its brauncitice I had mine for a month and a half I had to get breathing treatment for it to go away ask ur dr if it could be thst
Avatar f tn What should I do to stop my cough as I heard from my doctor said that almost all coughing medicine is not safe for pregnant use. I am coughing very badly is most likely a dry cough. I can feel my lungs are tired and painful when I cough.
Avatar m tn Okay, I`ve been having problems for the past several months, and honestly I quit checking them out. It started when I started coughing somuch in the mornings and had trouble breathing, that I almost passed out. It felt as if pressure was building up and y head was going to explode, then subsided. I went to the hospital and was told, Panic attacks.
