coughing

Avatar n tn Hope you are getting some help on email.... nothing happening here so far. The only suggestion I have is make sure you have good humidity inside, maybe put a vaporizer near you when you are not moving about - sleep with one for sure. Then what, cover you face with a scarf when you must expose yourself to cold dry air, and try to limit the time. Where does the blood come form, is it dried or liquid blood? Is it from your throat or lungs?
Avatar n tn irritation of the throat from violent coughing, blood clot in the lung, bronchiectasis, bronchitis, cancer, cystic fibrosis, inflammation of the blood vessels in the lung, nosebleeds, pneumonia, tuberculosis or inhaling blood into the lungs. Are there any other signs or symptoms present? Chest x-ray, complete blood count and complete medical and physical examination is needed to help with the diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Coughing up blood could be due to an infection a sinus infection or a lung infection. Sometimes trauma to the lungs can cause this or it could just be throat irritation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I'm a 38 year old male, non-smoker who has been in good shape all of my life. My family and I recently moved to Indonesia, and since coming here I've dealt with the typical sicknesses as your body adjusts to the new environment. I also came down with a pretty severe chest cold about a month and a half ago. Through it all I've lost about 16 lbs since arriving. 2 weeks ago, after working out, I began couging severly for about 30 seconds.
Avatar n tn The common causes of blood in cough are bronchitis, irritation of the throat from violent coughing, blood clot in lungs, tuberculosis of lungs, vasculitis etc.Though you do not have any symptoms like coughing or shortness of breath you should see your doctor and get evaluated. Avatar f tn Welcome....Because of your guy's age, you need to rule out CHF (Congestive Heart Failure).......Karla Here's other reasons for cough: Reasons for Coughing: OK, For starters, you need to rule out Heart Problems....The xray will not only show the heart, but also the lungs...This is important.... With Heart Disease, the weak heart cannot pump as well...Fluid builds into the lungs causing the cough..The cough is usually MOIST like they're choking on congestion...Actually, they are.
Avatar n tn Your lungs are doing their job and getting rid of the excess smoke from your lungs. Yes, smoking does cause buildup in your lungs which leads to bronchitis and other conditions, but it can be cleared out if you take care of your lungs and take preventative measures like drinking lots of water and smoking clarifying herbs like mullein. The phlegm with dark stuff in it is just all of that happening. And to Dr Kokil Mathur, why is your only solution to avoid Christian vices?

Avatar n tn Can she fully recover from this? She has fluid on her lungs too. Is there anything she can do to make herself feel better, as she often complains of quite a rapid pulse and pains in her chest.
Avatar n tn My mother had lymphnoid sarcoidosis which she found out through an x-ray at the Chriopractors. Her lungs were full and she did not even know it. She was not coughing. Sarcoidosis can affect the skin in about 20% of the people diagnosed with it. Most of the time is affects the lungs in 80% of the people diagnosed with it. Ask your doctor about Predisone to get you through this period.
Avatar n tn Cough, chest tightness and breathlessness the three symptoms are the triad of symptoms for Asthma. It is a disease affecting the lungs causing narrowing of the airways, usually due to an allergic reaction to triggering factors. Therapy is with bronchodilators which cause the airways to dilate. Your symptoms could also be due to COPD or Bronchiectasis. The other causes could be due to Bronchitis or Cystic fibrosis.
Avatar n tn Failing lungs could cause your back to ache, but it's more likely from coughing for a week. Treat the cough, see a doctor and if you are a smoker...STOP!
Avatar f tn It could be as simple as your sinuses dripping down the back of your throat and in your lungs. I just had a CT Scan and found that I have Pleurisy. It doesn't seem to be getting better so I guess the next thing is to determine if it is coming from an infection. This could be serious, but of course I am hoping that this too shall pass.
Avatar m tn I am 52. About 4 months ago, I suddenly developed a breathing problem plus coughing on lying condition. It was normal in sitting position though. So I had to sleep in sitting position. Doctors described it as accumulation of water/fluid in my lungs. They also noticed water in my ankles. I became alright in 10 days after having some pills accelerating urination culminating into ousting water out of the lungs.
Avatar m tn as it worsened i woke nightly from coughing, generally 3-4 times per night. the sputum from the lungs was never bloody. the cough was slightly painful, i never felt any sharp pains or rattling in my lungs. at 3 weeks i had a (clear) chest xray. after approx. 4 weeks i developed a sinus infection and my sinuses started bleeding, so i saw a doctor and was given 1 week of amoxyclav which cleared the sinus infection and slightly improved the cough, the sputum also turned white.
Avatar n tn Is it in your lungs or sinuses? Has your doctor done a chest or sinus x-ray? If your illness is viral, no antibiotics will work. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn Coughing up blood is also called hemoptysis and the first thing to determine is where is the blood coming from - lungs, stomach, nose, or throat. It could be an infection or irritation of the airways but there is a chance it could be something more serious such as lung cancer. You need to get it tested soon.
Avatar m tn ve been coughing for two weeks now. It all started from me throwing up then a day later I started coughing non-stop. The coughing is starting to hurt my lower right and left abdominal region. I don't weather to go to doctor to get it check or just wait it out to allow it to heal.
Avatar m tn I do smoke marijuana, that is the only thing i smoke. My lungs as of recent have been fine, here or there they would hurt from me smoking too much and i would have to take it easy. Now these last few months, Ive been throwing up out of my lungs somehow, some sort of clear Gooy-spit thats sometimes completely bubbly or sometimes clear. I cough non stop throughout the day, even when i do not smoke. Im not sure if i have an infection or what and seeking advice..
Avatar m tn and because he wasnt getting enough blood, of course the oxygen wasnt getting to his lungs the way it should have been, thus making them slow down and making breathing difficult, the black fluid was from the tar in his lungs from smoking.... his lungs needed more room to breathe, so they pumped the tar out.... Then eventually killed him yesterday evening...
Avatar n tn I am convinced that I am suffering from allergies but my doctor wants to be sure that my lungs are ok. So I have had x-rays taken that reveal perfect lungs. I had a breathing test and results were negative for any problems. In your opinion, what is wrong with me? I recall that even as a child I woud have similar episodes but not it is more frequent.
