Avatar n tn t know much about heart disease or high blood pressure but let me tell you a couple things I know about this medication. Lisinopril is used to control high blood pressure and water retention. Too strong of a dosage can cause diarrhea which can cause potassium to drop low. Losartan - potassium (Cozarr) is used to control hypertension and might be a better fit for your daughters condition as the side effects are similar. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I have bronchial asthma and every blood pressure medicine I have taken causes a constant cough and wheezing. Are there any medications I can take that doesn't cause these side effects? I have tried ToProl, Lisinipril, Tekturna, and now am on Verapamil Extended Release.
Avatar f tn This is very common and is a result of your vagus nerve being stimulated by the coughing resulting in a sudden drop in blood pressure as it temporarily causes your heart to pump less efficiently causing less blood to go to your brain. The drop in BP causes your symptom of feeling faint, it is very common and completely normal.
Avatar m tn If I move my eyeballs up or to the sides I can see blood veins in the right corner of my eyes even without coughing. Is this mechanical pressure of my eyelids? In the other case, is the coughing doing mecanical pressure too?

Avatar f tn Coughing up a touch of blood in your flehm is actually fairy common. Your throat can become slightly raw and spots can crack and bleed slightly. Most people when they have a bronchial / larynges infection will cough up yellowish flehm. coughing up large amounts of blood on the other hand is very bad. You will generally throw up blood though as it doesn't sit well in peoples stomach. medications that contain a cough suppressant may help over the short term to help reduce the irritation.
Avatar n tn Diastolic pressure is the pressure of the blood in your arteries when they are relaxed (when the heart is between pumps). This pressure is requried to push blood to all your body cells, feeding them with life giving Oxygen/nutrients and removing waste products. If diastolic pressure gets too low, this ability is lessened and tissue can become damaged. If diastolic pressure is below 60 is it classed as low blood pressure (hypotension).
206807 tn?1331936184 Never had an esophageal bleed but once those vessels burst it entails a lot more than just coughing up blood. As a rule those blood vessels just don't seal themselves back up and bleeding out can happen quickly. Did you see Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart? He was a bad alcoholic and towards the end the old boy was dying from the booze, p-issing himself, coughing up blood and on his way out. That was a pretty fair depiction of a raging alcoholic.
Avatar n tn These are called subconjunctival hemorrhages, and are harmless to the eye and do not hurt the vision. They can result from injury, high blood pressure, taking blood thinners, straining, coughing, sneezing, contact lens wear. Despite their appearance, they are not dangerous. There is no way to prevent them. If you have recurrent hemorrhages, I would have a work-up with your medical doctor to be sure you do not have a clotting disorder, but this is very rare.

5154295 tn?1372284196 m not to concerned with the puke as much as I am with the uncomfortable pressure I get! It hurts even sometimes. Is it bad to feel that pressure? Has anyone experienced this?
Avatar n tn It has nothing whatsoever to do with the blood or the emphysema. Usually there is a co-factor, which is low blood pressure. The technical term for what took place is a "vasovagal syncopal episode". It's nothing to be overly concerned about. You might want to have your blood pressure checked.
Avatar m tn My son who is 12 is having episodes of coughing up blood every 60 days --it started in March of 2012 -- it sometimes starts with sharp pains in his right side (front) -- or sometimes he just coughs up blood -- the coughing up of blood lasts for about 20 mins -- he coughs up about 1/2 of a specimen container of blood -- he says it feels like there is something he needs to cough up -- he coughs -- not too hard - and then spits into a cup and it is blood.

Avatar f tn The work area should be screened with non-permeable plastic and a negative pressure maintained to prevent dust from exiting. This is what was done when a building I worked in was being renovated. The differential in pressure was created by outside exhaust fans within the work area of the building. Excessive dust in the air in many jurisdictions is generally grounds for a stop work order.
Avatar f tn t have uncontrollable coughing fits, that obviously lead him to fainting in the first place. I guess he must experience a sudden drop in blood pressure brought on by coughing, if they are calling it coughing syncope. Usually a sudden drop in blood pressure is brought on by standing up, and the heart isn't able to compensate quick enough.

Avatar n tn I noticed that my blood pressure was elevated to 149/90 after taking cough drops. My blood pressure was about 134/79 two weeks ago when I had an annual checkup. Has anyone experienced elevation of blood pressure after taking cough drops? How long the cough drops effects will stay in my body?
Avatar f tn ve heard of girls having this happen and being fine, but it is always better to make sure with this. Coughing up blood can be a sign of a blood clot in the lung or something serious like that. Tell them everything. Stay calm and good luck!
Avatar n tn Conjunctival hemorrhages may be associated with trauma, rubbing one’s eyes, high blood pressure, medicines which prevent clotting of the blood such as coumadin, aspirin and increased pressure. The hemorrhage resolves over time. I would definitely see an eyeMD to determine whether you indeed have a conjunctival hemorrhage and to have your blood pressure checked. Dr. Feldman Sandy T. Feldman, M.D., M.S.
Avatar n tn I asked how that could have happened and he said high blood pressure (which he does not have) or could come from coughing. And is so can you have another surgery to correct this? My dad is 84 years old. Please help.

Avatar n tn I suggest that you discuss this with his doctors and see if it could be arranged to have his oxygen level documented when he is at rest, asleep when walking and during a coughing spell. The combination of cough and changes in blood pressure can also result in abnormal heart rhythms. This could be revealed by the use of a continuous heart monitoring device. It might also be wise to check his blood pressure.
