The carbs which should be restricted are sugars, sweetened foods, foods made from grains (bread, pasta, noodles, rice, corn),
sweet fruits, starchy
carbs such
potato.
Vegetables are healthy and should be eaten abundantly, aside from the starchy ones. Salad vegetables also ok.
Protein has minimal effect on blood sugar, and good quality proteins should be eaten. Fats don't impact blood sugar. Healthy fats should be eaten to make up energy requirements.
