If you take 250 mg at each meal that is 750 mg a day, the limit is 2400mg a day so you have room to go up on the Met. It can take 6 to 8 weeks for met to become fully effective.

Avatar n tn There is NO ideal carb count. Each of us is different. How many carbs you can handle without having your BG go too high (140 in the USA) is different than it is for me (I eat under 50gr a day). Google "eat to your meter" that will tell you haw many carbs YOU can eat.
Avatar n tn Hey there! I don't think you need to limit yourself to a certain amount of carbs per day. I would recommend trying a high protein and high fiber diet. Also try meal planning. Having a plan will ensure that you aren't going overboard on carbs, and knowing how many carbs you'll have for each meal will help you plan your bolus more correctly.
Avatar n tn Thank you I have been doing the same as far as only eating what I know the carbs are and it is helping . yes I'm refiring to my endocrinologist who has been keeping me alive I must say for years now. With out her and my husband I don't think I would be here. The research is slow going but I'm not giving up.
Avatar n tn My whole first trimester I could not eat any meat. The smell and look of chicken especially made me sick. Got better for me half way into my second trimester. Thankfully it got better or else i would have probably gained a lot more weight than I should have with all the carbs I was eating lol I'm due on Tuesday and I can tell ya it didn't last as this last trimester I craved beef stew.

Avatar f tn So I am recording the number of carbs I have at each meal. I have been told that if something has over 5 grams of fiber to subtract it from the total carbs. Does anyone else do this? And if so for the drs reference should I record the total number of the number of carbs minus the fiber? Thoughts? Thank you!
Avatar n tn I normally have to eat some protein along with a carbohydrate to feel good, otherwise the problem continues or worsens. I have tried eating pure glucose, and it only partially helps (with physical energy), leaving me mentally-foggy and with a strong craving for protein; so it seems it is not just hypoglycemia, and just eating sugar won't fix it. What is this?
Avatar n tn OK. Complicated one here. I'm 34. Type 2 runs in the family. I decided to start keeping an eye on it. Got a meter and strips and noticed some high PP numbers. So decided to see the Dr. Fasting was 78. A1C 5.2. Told me I was fine. Still saw some strange readings at home. Like 160's and 170's. Requested a OGTT. Spiked to 127 at 1 hour. Was at I believe 115 at two hours. Again, was told that's fine.
Avatar n tn I think the trick is finding a replacement for the carbs you already consume for example using lettace leaves in place of tortilla wraps or spiralized veg in place of pasta - hope this helps x
6918915 tn?1395932871 Oh gosh I was exactly the same too. I even posted a very similar post on here lol. I was sick 24/7 during my first trimester and could also only eat carbs. I was so worried about gaining weight but I surprisingly didn't gain a pound until well into the 2nd when I was able to eat healthy again. I wouldn't worry about it and my dr told me to eat whatever I could during that time to make sure I was eating. As soon as 12 weeks hit, it was gone completely so hopefully it gets better for you!
1855476 tn?1356739693 Are you eliminating processed carbs like pasta, bread, rice, etc? Are you only getting your carbs from vegetables and fruits? I would recommend making sure you aren't getting your carbs from anything processed (ie bottled sauces, drinks, breading, etc). If you are eating a lot of fruit, that can be a culprit as fruit is loaded with sugar and sugar equals carbs. Reduce the amount of fruit you are eating or find a type of fruit that it lower in carbs.

Try to take 15 to 40 grams of carbs when you feel that way, 10 minutes later if you feel better, my guess is you need to see a doctor of the hormones I dont know the real name in english ("endocrinologue" in french). This past June I was so stressed out that somebody at work accidentally spooked me and I felt immense pressure in my chest, felt like I almost almost bearing down to BM. The coworker said I turned bright red and when the pressure released, my heart began to race.
