I had also heard that chocolate milk was good, she doesn't like chocolate so I added strawberry. We will fill an empty water bottle with it to take to school.

Oh, and low carb vanilla ice cream. Man it was incredible. Plus, there's always walnuts and almonds and foods prepared in olive oil.

Avatar f tn Maybe a sweet potato for lunch. Try to stick with healthy carbs (sweet potato, brown rice, oatmeal are my go to's) make sure you are eating any and all carbs early in the day. Also berries with honey (strawberries, black berries, blue berries, raspberries) is a great healthy snack. Honey is a slow burning carb, and berries are naturally lower in sugar than other fruits, so no sugar crash later. Honey that is locally cultivated can also help with outdoor allergies.

No juice, pop, sugary coffees, etc... the best option is to just drink a lot of water and of course maybe a small glass of milk with one of your evening snack for a good source of calcium. Going with Skim or 1% is good. I have much to learn myself yet but I do know that I have been basically following the Canadian Food Guide which highly promotes whole grains.
