1301482 tn?1325722991 There are 2 types of carbs; simple carbs, such as those found in sodas, things made with white refined sugar, flour, white rice, and even fruit. The other type of carb is the complex carb (otherwise known as dietary fiber), which is found in whole grains, veggies, seeds, nuts, etc. The simple carbs are broken down quickly and enter the blood stream as sugar, which if not used, is then stored as fat. Complex carbs/fiber are broken down slowly and keeps you feeling fuller longer.
362971 tn?1201987034 pasta, taters and yes - Cheerios. For a while there I picked up a little egg salad habit, then cottage cheese with fruit. Many people have serious flings with ice cream. Curiously enough (and appropriate to treatment) Rock Road is frequently mentioned as a favorite. Whatever gets you through as long as you promise to get yourself on the straight and narrow when tx is over.
Avatar f tn I found I had to eat very low carb (in addition to using lots of insulin) in order to control my blood sugars when I was pregnant. Your baby doesn't know how much carb you eat, but what affects it is your blood sugar levels. Do you know how to count carbs and match the insulin to the carbs? For example, if you are going to eat 30 g of carb at 1 meal, then you need to know how many units of insulin will cover that. It may be 1 unit of insulin covers 10 g of carbs?
Avatar f tn I think its made with mayo and sometimes mayo is made with raw egg. I would check the ingredients for raw egg in the mayo.
1829282 tn?1325591658 Ditto what redstar said- everything in moderation.. so don't get rid of all your carbs and sodium. However, maybe it might help you to switch your sandwich to a salad? Or at least double check the ingredients on that bread. Some bread is really high with sugars and low on good grains; some with 5 grams of fat per serve, and I've even seen a lot of generic brands that had high fructose corn syrup in it! Bread can be scary, so make sure you know what's in yours.
Avatar f tn As long as it doesn't have sardines or raw egg in it your fine. You definitely can't eat Cesar dressing. Lol. Are you from the US?
Avatar m tn try my suggestion above and try this eat 50 grams of carbs 150 grams of protein and about 150-200 grams of fat. your menu 3 egg cheese and mushroom omelet. lunch roast beef slices wrapped in colby cheese dinner baked salmon, broccoli with butter and a salad with dressing.
1666434 tn?1325262350 even though it says sugar free, sugar free syrups are medium-high in simple carbs. For diabetics go easy on the portions and use in moderation, let common sense prevail.
443862 tn?1237999439 (fast food places have a list of the items they sell and the nutrition info. It will tell you amount of carbs ) You take 1 unit of the insulin for every 15 grams of carbs. So to figure the amount of insulin..... You total the grams of carbohydrate to be eaten and divide by 15 (15 grams of carbohydrate equals "one carb"). For example....if for your meal you're eating Steak = No carbs so don't count.
Avatar f tn I woke up wanting egg salad. Oh it tasted amazing. Anyone else wake up craving something?

269786 tn?1243793707 When my body calls for "carbs", I eat protein (lean chicken breast, egg, cereal with milk). Like JoyRenee, I keep the sweets out of the house. I have learned to substitute a healthier option for the sweets I do like ... for example, a 35-calorie SF fudgesickle instead of a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Since I used to be addicted to the sweets, I started by using Splenda in place of sugar so I still had the "sweet" flavor and then slowly started cutting back a little.
Avatar f tn I've talked to them and i increased the carbs ,i play basketball only one day in the week
Avatar f tn and for dinner i have 1 or 2 pieces of fish salmon, mackerel, etc with plain mixed salad jalapeno peppers, half a beetroot and a boiled egg. i stopped taking sugar and cows milk, i changed to sweeteners and soya milk. drink plenty of water. thats it, but you have to make sure you stick to your routine with no exceptions, always eat a small breakfast. if you skip a meal, your body will start to think you are starving yourself and store food so you put on weight.
8101930 tn?1420001456 Some freshly made ceasar dressing has raw egg in it, but not much anymore...and definitely not in bottled at the grocery store...have at it!
Avatar f tn Oops. My husband and I got a rare date night last night and went to Red Lobster and not even thinking about it I had a caesar salad. After I got home I remembered that you aren't supposed to have caesar dressing while pregnant. Should I be worried?
Avatar m tn I get 30 grams of protein in the morning, with 15 grams of accompanying carbs, as well as 18 grams of fiber. Lunch is a salad with bits of dark meat in it, as well as egg whites (boiled egg style), afternoon snack is a Muscle milk of 20 grams of protein, and dinner is usually Tilapia or Salmon with steamed broccoli and some Jasmine Rice. I don't know maybe there is a correlation between diet change and the headaches disappearing.
5609181 tn?1375332372 What do we eat?! I've been starving for days cause I can't find anything to eat. I haven't eaten red meat in nearly ten years and carbs have always been a big part of my diet and now I have to significantly cut back and get frustrated when I go to eat something and then end up not eating. I know I need to be eating more than I am but I'm terrified of eating something I shouldn't be..
