I am an IDDM and for the last year I have been overweight - and very uncomfortable with it. I put it on because I had to be completely sedentary for many months in order to stabilize the injury I received from a high impact accident.

A large egg has about 5 grams of fat, which is not a lot for a very large dog, but too much for smaller dogs. You can hard boil eggs and then feed just a portion each day, or split them between multiple dogs. Almost all of the fat and calories are in the yolks, so the whites alone can be added to increase protein without increasing fat, if needed.
Avatar f tn if you can stick to it for 3-7 days, you will feel a noticeable change in your body. If you have to have carbs, do the healthy kind, but really give it a try, just for a couple of weeks. It is a great jump start for any diet and you will feel your belly seem instantly less bloated and feel less hungry and munchy all of the time. Eat lots of fiber to stay full. Good luck!

Avatar f tn The pattern I have detected seems to be that if I have a black coffee and add milk then I seem to be fine, it is only when I have lattes, could this be something to do with the milk being warmed/boiled before it is poured in to the coffee, or perhaps it is just because there is more milk in a latte than when I add it to a black coffee (although i do make it very milky).

The complex carbs are the ones that provide fiber to keep you feeling fuller longer. Also be sure to get plenty of protein with every meal. Eggs and whole grains are excellent sources of protein, as is dairy.
Avatar n tn There is NO ideal carb count. Each of us is different. How many carbs you can handle without having your BG go too high (140 in the USA) is different than it is for me (I eat under 50gr a day). Google "eat to your meter" that will tell you haw many carbs YOU can eat.

Avatar f tn Yes, I have a natural remedy thats a def help! Cook real white rice a little overcooked to where its sticky, then mix in plain nonfat greek yogurt, and a little salt. Eat a big bowl or two and itll help in no time!
Avatar n tn Hey there! I don't think you need to limit yourself to a certain amount of carbs per day. I would recommend trying a high protein and high fiber diet. Also try meal planning. Having a plan will ensure that you aren't going overboard on carbs, and knowing how many carbs you'll have for each meal will help you plan your bolus more correctly.
