Avatar f tn I found out I was a diabetic when i found out I was pregnant i thought the same thing that I couldn't eat anything what really does it is the carbs if you eat carbs just eat a little and no sweets at all
Avatar n tn It may sound gross, but an old German lady told me years ago to try this when nauseous, or just for a snack. Toast am English muffin, lightly butter it, spread cottage cheese on it, then drizzle a little orange marmalade. You get your carbs, protein, and a little sweetness. It worked for all of my pregnancies when nothing else would.
Avatar n tn sojo, are they not sending you to a dietician for advise? The advise you got here was good, but a dietician will actually factor in your weight, your level of physical activity, and your blood sugar levels and design a diet for you complete with amounts to eat at what times during the day.
Avatar f tn Today I tested when I woke up (112), after breakfast of an English muffin and a hard boiled egg (176) then again after lunch of a turkey sandwich (198). No snacks, only water to drink. So, I am guessing I had too many carbs? Each test was 2hrs after I ate. Anyway - just looking for info about testing and what to expect. Thanx!
Avatar f tn You can also try drinking a shot of ginger ale and then eat sumthin light like a bagel or english muffin to curve your nausea.
Avatar n tn Don't beat yourself up too badly over it, I'm in the same boat as you... I don't really overeat, and the things that I do eat, I think out and try to make healthy meals, but I still ended up with gestational diabetes. Unfortunately, it's just something that happens because of all of the weird things that happen in pregnancy. I've learned to just go with it... That being said, I was advised to count how many grams of carbs that I take in and what foods contain them.
2166701 tn?1358365167 Just check ur blood sugar before you eat an go off that. If it is high I would do an English muffin or toast or eggs for breakfast. But if it is lower go and eat fruit. Just try to keep up with ur sugar levels and the intake of sugar. Diabetes is just a balance act. One of my family members that raised me is diabetic and they ate what they wanted according to their sugar levels. If it was high they ate things that were low in carbs and sugar. If it was low they are more carbs and sugar.
Avatar f tn My husband believes he consumed an English muffin that had blood on it. It was from a fast-food restaurant. There was only a few seconds from preparation to consumption. He left the wrapper on as he was eating it. After a few bites, he noticed that the entire bottom of the muffin was covered in what looked like blood. He has on open cut on his gum and lip. He is very worried that he may have been exposed to HIV. I need to reassure him that this is not a risk of exposure.
804966 tn?1261895278 A multi-grain or whole wheat piece of toast or English muffin with peanut butter and some fruit is good. Eat fruit instead of drinking juice so you get full when you eat the calories. Oatmeal is another great food to eat to keep you full - try putting it in muffins, pancakes or on its own. Eggs are a healthy alternative if cooked in a dab of olive oil or else with PAM or just boiled or poached.

Avatar f tn Yes I agree!! Loovveeee breakfast sandwiches. . Bagel, biscuit, english muffin. . Doesnt matter, I love them All!
Avatar f tn I typically have either an apple or english muffin for breakfast. Most days I will have a home prepared latte so that equals one cup of milk and 30 calories for the international syrup I've been using. The actual coffee I use says it doesn't have calories. So I usually eat around 220 to 300 calories for breakfast. Unless I have tea, which I do about twice a week. Lunch is often a salad or crackers, cheese, and meet. So again its about 300 to 350 calories for lunch.
184674 tn?1360860493 I do love homemade muffins! Sooo which is your favorite? I love oatmeal apple, blueberry, pumpkin chocolate chip.
6579347 tn?1388502368 Thanks, remar, I'm trying. I do frozen berries with my cereal and an english muffin with PB & honey, then a few swallows of OJ at breakfast. AM snack has been dry cereal and some roasted almonds. Lunch has been a few slices of turkey lunchmeat & cheese with some light soup. PM snack is a cheese stick and crackers. Dinner has been Lean Cuisines - always a protein and veggie. It's a struggle because I feel hunger, but after a few bites it gets hard to keep eating.
Avatar f tn Just making my pumpkin spice deaf coffee with pumpkin spice creamer OMG I love this time of year! What you ladies having to eat? I'm thinking an English muffin with some eggs and some fruit? Hmm idk but I'm starving and trying to eat a little healthier lol...
Avatar n tn Usually for a pre-run breakfast, I have a whole wheat english muffin, with peanut butter and jelly, and a glass of skim milk. I also notice, by the way, that even in the mornings that I don't run, 1 unit of insulin covers only 10 grams of carbs, whereas 1 unit in the afternoon or evening covers 20 grams of carbs. My insulin to carb ratio is half that of the morning as in the afternoon.
995335 tn?1251479506 ) Split the English muffin and put it in the toaster. Then take a regular cereal bowl and spray some PAM in the bottom of it, put two egg whites in the bowl (no need to stir) and pop it in the microwave for approximately a minute to a minute and a half. Take your toasted muffin put the cheese on the bottom, then the egg, then salt and pepper if desired then the mayo on the top. And that's it! A 4 1/2 point breakfast in less than FIVE minutes and it is sooo delicious! So....
Avatar f tn For breakfast I usually have a whole wheat English muffin or tortilla with peanut butter, and half a banana if in the tortilla. Snack I usually have milk with protein powder. Lunch salad with toast or crackers. Dinner stir fry or pasta. Just find what works for you, and watch the amounts of carbohydrates. Once you get used to it it's really not that bad. This is my second pregnancy with GD. Timing is important too...
Avatar f tn I am eating really healthy snacks and stuff so I wont gain a ton of weight. Yesterday I was craving whole wheat English muffin with mashed avocado and I wanted to wait till I picked up my kids from school till I went to the store to get it. by the time I made it to the store I was shaking and light headed I was so hungry. When the Vons cashier asked me to enter in my phone # I could hardly remember it let alone enter it! Who knew I would become so starving in such a short time?!
6965936 tn?1394227011 I made a tuna melt with chopped cherry tomatoes and dill on an English muffin. Pretty healthy too cuz I used tuna in water, lactose free fat free cheese and a 100 calorie whole wheat English muffin. Didn't have that brownie yet tho.
Avatar f tn I was toasting an english muffin the other morning to make a ham and melted cheddar cheese sandwich and left the kitchen for a second, came back and my husband had just popped the last of the ham in his mouth. I was so devastated I had tears in my eyes and had to blink them back so he wouldn't get on my case for crying about food... He felt really bad and couldn't believe I was that sad about it... Pretty ridiculous right?
594189 tn?1386916607 ve learned that when we go out to eat breakfast, I can choose things like eggs, oatmeal, english muffin, whole wheat toast, etc that are pretty much "good for me" and he's welcome to his pancakes, hash browns, etc. Like twehner5, if I eat a late breakfast - I will only eat one other meal for that day, but I do snack on apples, pears, raw veggies, popcorn, etc.
Avatar f tn In the beginning I used to ask hubby to make me a toasted English muffin with a lil jam to eat around 4 am. It helped curb the sickness I would get from having an empty stomach every morning. Maybe try to have a lil something on your night stand to eat when you get up to pee like I do so many times all night lol. It also may help to figure out what odors in your home tend to trigger your gagging. For me, even moving air from a fan would set me off. It's a rough row to hoe as they say.
5761267 tn?1384393974 I had my Grandmas homemade Chili and then when I got home I ate more food lol I had little English muffin pizzas and I know im crazy but I am still hungry! I think I will eat some salt and vinegar flavored chips yum!!
