Prior to having the Surgery I had extensive tests and although I did not have the Bravo, I had 24hr PH study with one Specialist and that came back as ALL GOOD and a month later I had 24hr Impedance study with PH testing and the test came back as ABNORMAL and lead to me having surgery. In my opinion: the Bravo test and the 24hr PH study are basically the same the one difference being that with the Bravo capsule you don't have this horrible pipe hanging out of your nose for 24hrs.

Since the capsule is pinned into the lining of the esophagus and is nowhere near where the nerves to the neck could be impacted by it's presence, it's unlikely that the bravo had anything to do with it. If you had the bravo test done it was probably to check for the presence of acid reflux. It's possible that chest pains could be related to acid reflux if that's what was found.

Just had the bravo test about 4 hours ago.....ok swallowing liquids but I tried soup and it hurt!!! Also nausea...how long should this last for.

I am concerned about having the Bravo procedure done because I heard it is quite painful. My main question is, what would be done differently in my treatment depending on the results? I feel like it may be a painful waste of time. Has anyone had this done and felt better afterward because their doctor treated them differently due to the findings on the bravo test?

I had the bravo ph test done a couple weeks ago. My doctor said the score was 75 and followed that with an "ouch". I have a hiatal hernia, and respiratory symptoms seemingly related to gerd. He says I am a candidate for surgery. My question is - in laymans's terms, what does the score mean? I can't find anything online that indicates ranges for anything that is above the norm.

I had the ph bravo monitor test done yesterday. I do not have that kind of pain - I can tell it is there and still have the chest pain and heartburn. It hurts when I eat or drink but that is all.

I really recommend pregnancy yoga in your 2nd and 3rd trimester, before that aqua aerobics, swimming, normal yoga and Pilates, gym workout, light jog, stationary bike and cross trainer, anything really as long as you are feeling well and comfortable doing it.

I have an an endoscopy, stomach emptying test, barium swallow, sonogram, and Bravo PH test. The only results I have were that my Bravo PH test showed very high PH levels in my esophagus, but I was having more acid reflux those two day than I ever have had before. I have heard rumors that PPI withdrawal can include more acid reflux, which I had to stop taking the PPI drugs to conduct the Bravo PH test?

I had began a pH Bravo test yesterday afternoon. What pH level is indicative of acid reflux? The lowest reading on the monitor so far has shown 1.2. When I am having no symptoms the monitor reads 6 - 7.5.
